On this Wednesday evening, they were filling up fast. We asked to be seated in a quieter part of the restaurant. We were seated near the door that goes out to the enclosed back patio area. It was perfect for us. Our server, William was out quickly to greet us. Others came by at the same time to fill our water glasses and leave some warm bread and salted butter. William congratulated us on our anniversary. My wife must have mentioned it when she made the reservation. William was very familiar with the menu as well as the wines. And he presented the options very well. You could tell he's a veteran server used to working with Meehan level clientele. We started with cocktails. My wife had a Cosmopolitan and I had the Butter Pecan Old Fashioned. It was real nice. About 15 minutes later, we were ready for William to take our order. The interior is elegant, warm, and inviting, and honestly, Meehan's gets an 11 out of 10 for the design alone. I originally came in for a steak, but the roasted New Zealand rack of lamb with pistachio mint pesto caught my eye instantly on the menu. The presentation was top notch, and the mint pesto was divine. The lamb was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the quality was outstanding. Without question, it was the best lamb I've had anywhere in the DFW area. Our server was Johnny on the spot the entire night and easily one of the best servers we've had all year. I highly recommend Meehan's Chophouse for a special night out. This is the kind of place that can turn a regular dinner into one of those meals you'll be talking about for years.
