100% okay with the slightly over 2-hour ride. Couldn't be more hidden. Yet still a full parking lot…read morewhen we arrived. This small building is about 130 years old, and the there's a modernized 1890's vibe here, playing 1970's music overhead. I'm not sure what I liked better: my bacon cheeseburger or my slice of chocolate pie. The burger was two (seemingly) mini meatloaves, perfectly seasoned, topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. The cheese was bubbly. I found the bun somewhat weak for the job it was trying to hold together. Collapsed into itself at one point. The bacon was fine (isn't it always!), but just not my favorite. The home-made fries were potatoey perfection. My grandmother passed around 1982. If she were still here, I'd be forced to tell her someone makes a better chocolate pie than her. At least I avoided the cussing and getting walloped by a broom. The crust was buttery and of perfect firmness. The chocolate cream was covered in heavenly whipped cream, I assume homemade. Will absolutely be coming back in the Fall, for the leaf show. And a burger. And that pie. Great staff also. Very welcoming, including the owner.

I see what all the hype is about. A great relic of the past that serves wonderful food. I had the…read moresteak and cheese sandwich that came with a drink and homemade fries. Think a Philly Cheese Steak on Texas Toast. Perfect with a lot of slivered steak, melted cheese, and plenty of green peppers and onions! The fries were piping hot and cooked perfectly. It's worth the drive!

Stricken with hunger…read moreafter driving hundreds of miles all over Oklahoma all day looking for my next property; I came upon PJ's shining brightly in the darkness, a food oasis in a seemingly desolate place. I originally passed it, made my left at the stop sign but felt as compelled to go back as I do now to write this review. I could see a couple families inside as I pulled my car in their dirt parking lot. I was greeted warmly as I stepped through the diner door. When trying a new place, I like to eat a familiar food or the food the are known for. My choice here was a burger or country fried steak, having the soul of a southern boy, I opted for the country fried steak dinner. The dinner came with one side of my choice, a small garden salad and a piece of Texas toast. The salad came out first with a side of saltines and I was immediately impressed by the appearance of the greens and tomatoes, both looks very fresh and it would surprise me if the lettuce wasn't locally grown. The ranch served with the salad was delicious and a nice portion size. When the main course came out, I was excited, it looked wonderful! I opted for the fried okra and it definitely was fresh cut and fried, that batter was light and more akin to a good onion ring. The country fried steak was a very generous portion and also fired in that wonder crispy, even batter that wasn't too clumpy and it didn't have too much cornmeal like other often do. I've eaten hundreds of country fried steaks and I currently deem this one the king, champion of all steaks country fried. I can't believe that experience only had a menu price of $7.99; it was so wonderful. A couple days later I ate at the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile and I couldn't bring myself to try her $27 country fried steak, knowing it couldn't possibly be three times better than y'all!

It's cute inside with just a couple of tables. Staff were super friendly. My chicken fried steak was very good. Burgers are hand made patties. Good ole country diner food.
