You do have to walk across the indoor bridge to get there unless you valet park. They charge $2 an hour for parking. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything is done with an arm bracelet for things such as lab or testing. I had an appointment with neuromuscular department. The physicians and therapists are excellent. They're very thorough and up to date on current medicines and trials. The EMG center is in the same clinic so it's super convenient. Being part of the Duke portal is convenient for Atrium Wake Forest and Cone Health because all testing is visible and they can also see visit notes from the doctors. It makes it possible to see providers from different networks and not having to bring in or sign for your records to be shared. The facility is massive and the color system makes it easy to find your way. There are several labs so you don't have to walk a mile to get to one. Most walk in tests can accommodate with minimal waiting. It's about a quarter mile walk from the parking garage to the clinics so wear comfy shoes or walking device. You will have a lot of walking to do and there's limited seating in the main corridors.

We went to Duke Regional Hospital Emergency Department. The front desk clerk and triage nurse( From Trinidad) all were excellent. We waited for 20-30 minutes which wasn't bad. We were called an placed in and exam room. Dr. Todd A. Allen came in what a God Send. We thought he was an ophthalmologist the way he perform all eye exam, but was a well season ED physician. He has outstanding bedside manners. A very good lister. I pray he continues to serve everyone the way he help us. Thank you Dr. Todd!

16-hour wait at ER a few years ago. Watched an elderly woman with a suspected broken hip sit in a…read morechair in agonizing pain for over 6 hours before leaving because she couldn't take sitting there anymore. Most recently, was rejected care for a serious condition because they didn't have the right kind of specialist to admit or transfer me. I was discharged at 4am when I couldn't walk. Asked the front desk nurse for help figuring out how to get home or to a hospital that could treat me, since a neighbor had dropped me off. They said the busses run at 5:30am. I told them I couldn't walk to the bus stop. The nurse walked away without responding. There are some helpful nurses, but most seem like they have stopped trying to be empathetic--a product of the system that forces them to churn patients through, probably. Other departments in this hospital are great, but avoid the ER. Go to big duke.

Not able to find an urgent care that was open midday on a Saturday, in the town I live in, we drove to this office, after calling to see if I could be seen immediately. Since I was expected, I was seen almost immediately after I walked in. The assistant and the PA were very professional. After examination, they were confident that I did not have a stroke. They determined that I should go to the hospital in Hillsborough to more positively rule out a heart attack. (They did. WHEW!)

Pretty frustrating experience here - arrived for a scheduled angiogram in the pediatric radiology…read moredepartment and was told that there was a problem with the order and they weren't sure it would get done today... After my daughter had worked up the nerve to get the procedure (catheter IV is no fun) - to be told it might not happen was not what we needed to hear. After waiting 35 minutes past our appointment time (we got there early, too!), they called my daughter back. I said, "Are you sure that she can have this today, since there was an issue?" and the gentleman said, "Yes, she should have told you that" (referring to radiology intake. Anyway, so we went back, the nurse who inserted the IV in my daughters arm was friendly enough but did not do a very good job of inserting the plastic catheter and hurt my daughter, who burst into tears. Not a good start... Waited another 15 minutes, got called back to actual CT scan area. The nurse who helped us in there was wonderful. Very patient and explained everything. Overall, just glad it's over. Paid $4 to park as well, just FYI.

I won't share her name, as she is already super popular and I'm selfish. She's taken time to really understand my very complex medical issues, is quick thinking, flexible, and very compassionate. I've never met an MD who was her equal. The staff there is very friendly, and work together like a well oiled machine. I will always, always be a devoted fan of this office!
