Fried chicken, juicy, not greasy, good taste.

Love the fried chicken here. Unfortunately, it's the only item on the menu I've had, but I've been there twice so far, other friends have been there more times and they seem very consistent. Which may explain why the line can back up, quality takes time and this doesn't necessarily qualify as "fast food." The meat is tender and juicy, the skin is just crispy enough. Not so much that it flakes everywhere, definitely not soggy. It's been a few weeks since my last visit and I'm still thinking about it. They're not open Saturday or Sunday. The restaurant is small and feels like a time warp to decades past.

Stopped in on the way back to Atlanta from Charleston. Our whole group wanted some South Carolina BBQ on a Tuesday evening. After yelping and stopping by a few bbq joints on our route - all were closed at 7pm - we spoke to some locals who said "we cook bbq wed-sun here". Disappointed we went on our way and happened upon Biddie Banquet & saw bbq on the sign. The staff was extremely friendly and they had a line at their drive in and walk up window - the seating in the restaurant was closed - we all ordered "The Boss" bbq plate & a fresh lemonade. While the bbq wasn't the best SC bbq I've ever had it sure hit the spot. The lemonade was great. After reading the yelp reviews I see that other menu items are their strong suite. If you're in the neighborhood stop in and get a warm southern welcome :)

Family owned business. Great service. Awesome fried chicken, the "Giant Burger" is hand patted. The homemade chicken salad is a must have! It can be very busy at lunch. Unfortunately they are not open on weekends.

Great locals' place that our hotel clerk hesitated sending us "city slickers" to, but I think she underestimated us

According to Facebook and also on their website, they offered a variety of foods on different days and I chose Sunday. I was attracted by the carving station in particular and many other items that were listed. Morning of the day that I was to visit, there was again a Facebook ad listing the foods that would be available that day. When I arrived at the restaurant, they were very busy. There was a waiting period of about 30 minutes. I had to sit outside where it was extremely extremely hot and I was getting bit by bugs. Once inside, I was disappointed to see that there was no carving station and items listed in their advertisement on Facebook that morning and other days for Sunday, which included prime rib, ribs, ham, etc. we're not available In all approximately 90% of what had been listed that morning on Facebook as well as in previous ads for Sunday, were not available. The manager (who is also the cook) informed me that the carving station with prime rib etc., was available on Friday. He could not explain why it was listed in their ad for Sunday. Ultimately, I ended up getting a refund and leaving --- do not ever plan on returning

Okay Mrs. Margaret Did It Again!!!…read more Whew!! Mrs. Margaret at Soul Food & More has done it again -- and this time, I think she outdid herself! The food was absolutely phenomenal and seasoned to perfection, fresh, and full of that down-home flavor you can only get from someone who puts love into every bite. From the smothered pork chops to the mac and cheese and those melt-in-your turkey wings with light rice , double field peas ... ( and breakfast that morning, my doctor will be upset with me at my next physical ) it was like a warm hug from the inside out. You can tell this isn't just cooking -- it's soul, it's tradition, it's FAMILY. If you haven't been to Soul Food & More, you're seriously missing out. Thank you, Mrs. Margaret, for continuing to bless the community with your gift. We'll be back -- again and again! The building is a combination of other buildings that you just want to explore, but on the inside, most are open for dining. And I would imagine in peak season, they need the space! It is only about 2.5 miles off I-95 at the entrance to the state park. We got to the road with no problem but passed it and had to turn around. It is tucked off the side of the road. As other reviewers mentioned, it is a buffet (no other option). You are separated from the food by a plexiglass shield, and you just point to what you want. Yes, the fried chicken was fabulous, and the pulled pork was good, too. Since I hadn't ever had tomato pie, I can't compare it to others, but it was good. All home cooked food... If you are on a diet, you might want to skip it. The only sugar-free drink offering was unsweet tea as the diet pepsi was out. I opted for 1/2 sweet and 1/2 unsweet. They fill your drinks for you and check on you in the dining area. Banana pudding for dessert? Yes, please!
