This sweet spot has oodles of potential. Maybe a bad day? Upon arrival only one person ahead of me, and he was awaiting his coffee order. One person was sweeping floor behind counter, one person making coffee for customer- neither employee acknowledged me. When I was finally asked for my order, it was another 10 + minutes to get my order of two drip coffees (which needed to be heated in microwave) and a warmed up pastry. Super nice employees, cutest decor, but it presents as so much more. Please give them a chance.

My colleague decided to derail everyone's resolutions and generously brought in four boxes (!) of pastries from Dulce. They were well worth the calories and even tasted great the next day. Whoa, I loved the crumbly, tart, lightly sweet lemon bar. The white chocolate cranberry cookie was delicious. And the cheese and jam danish, not usually my first pick, was fantastic. The cinnamon buns have cream cheese frosting rather than icing, which isn't my personal fave, but everyone else loved them. What a treat.

What a cute new spot. It has been my intention to spend some time here since they opened their doors and finals week provided the perfect opportunity. The decor is cute and there are spaces that you can have some cute picture moments. The staff were friendly and very helpful aswell. I don't really or ever enjoy coffee and I was full expecting to like what I ordered BUT I had the dulce de leche iced latte with oat milk Ah-amazing. There were some gluten free options for the pastries I wish they had more gf options. I tried the carrot cupcake. It was good the frosting was better than the cake to me because I don't believe carrots should be in cake so do not take my word for it the carrot cake taste. Overall I would definitely go again and hopefully they have more GF eating options next time.

I had been wanting to Try this place for a while and finally got around to it on a Saturday. Sadly, I was.truly disappointed. First, staff did not even acknowledge me after waiting for about 8 minutes. I was ready to just leave when one staff asked if I had been waited on. The other staff person was making drinks and the staff that asked was the only other worker...so.. obviously she knew she hadn't waited on me. I ordered a selection of 4 different flavors. This brings me to my second point that paying $27.00 for 4 cupcakes (pretty plain cupcakes at that) is HIGHWAY ROBBERY! I can order a dozen from the famous Georgetown cupcakes for just $10 more shipped directly to my door! The triple chocolate cupcake was dry and old and crumbled everywhere when I bit into it. It tasted stale and was not a good quality chocolate since it had little flavor. It was basically a chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing. Nothing special. I also got a basic vanilla cupcake, a red.velvet cupcake and a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. All were mediocre. I will likely not visit this place again since there are.plenty of other bakery options in town with much more pleasant staff.

Very cute little bakery and coffee shop in Columbia! We were greeted right when we walked in and although they were busy, they were quick and efficient! A nice selection of coffee drinks, teas, sandwiches and pastries- including gluten free options! My latte was absolutely delicious and the vibe and ambiance was comfortable and refreshing!

First time trying them out on Thursday and it was lovely! The decor was so cute and it had a nice floral upscale aesthetic. The menu had a nice variety of coffee and brews and the food menu was short but well rounded I think. I ordered the breakfast BLT with egg and avocado on it which was delicious and a regular coffee. I do wish they would have had a nice sauce to complement the BLT to really bring it together but it was good without it! I will try one of their latte flavors on my next trip as well as the pastries because the blueberry cream cheese danish I wanted wasn't ready yet and we didn't stay long. The attendant was so nice and sweet. I will definitely be back again! It's cute and the coffee and food is good! They also serve lunch items as well.

We found a perfect spot for dessert after having dinner around the corner. The staff is very friendly and happy to give suggestions on their favorite items. We enjoyed Cheesecake, flan, a double chocolate brownie, and a red velvet cupcake. All were amazing, but the flan was our favorite. The shop is quaint, comfortable, and very clean. Great find!

We stayed in Columbia overnight. Always looking for good coffee and a baked item. We went to another popular shop and it was terrible. So we stopped here and the coffee was fantastic. It does take knowledge to make a great Americano. Also the pastries were fresh and delicious. The service was also outstanding. Another plus it is dog friendly. Don't go anywhere else if you are close come here!

I frequent Dulce during the week for lunch and the Chicken Salad Sandwich is by far my favorite! I'll eat it every day if I could. The Dulce de Leche Latte is my go to for a pick me up as well. Can't wait until the guava cupcakes come back in rotation! Love it!!

Walked in and was presented with assortment of bake goods in a glass case and espresso aroma. I didn't get the lady's name but I think she was the owner. The bakery opened in September. She was very helpful with ordering the perfect latte for me. The pumpkin loaf was a good size and delish. Bright and modern dining room.

Case of desserts. Contains: different kinds of cheesecakes, whoopie pies, cupcakes, and tres leches cake.

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

Service was fine. Nothing particularly standout, but smooth and efficient. For drinks, the coffee was average. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing memorable. Especially considering the price point. Food-wise, there were some highlights. The sweet potato bowl was well-dressed and flavorful, though it felt like it was missing a protein component to make it more complete. The shakshuka was very good overall, with great flavor, though it leaned a bit salty. The biggest issue was the bread portion. It simply wasn't enough for the dish. I ended up ordering an extra side, and while it's listed as two slices, it's really just one slice cut in half. At $4 for that portion, that is very unreasonable. That was a recurring theme. Pricing felt high across the board for what you receive. While the flavors were there, nothing really stood out as exceptional enough to justify the cost. Overall, not a bad visit. Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.

They had a really zany coffee section, with an assortment of unique coffee mugs, where you could get bottomless cups of coffee for only a few dollars. I got the chicken tenders and fries to eat, which were cooked to perfection and tasted excellent. Even though I shouldn't have, I wrapped up my meal with a piece of chocolate cake, which was absolutely delicious as well. All of the staff members were really nice and did a great job, and I loved the old-school, wacky (in a good way) ambiance and environment. It almost felt like the type of place you'd see in a TV show or movie, and I mean that in the best way possible. I will say that it's a little more expensive than most other restaurants, but that's obviously reflected in the quality of food and service that they provide. Overall, I loved my trip to Cafe Strudel, will definitely be back in the future, and would recommend it to anyone. A 5/5 experience for sure!

Wait staff was barely around and food took a whileee to come out and at various times. The food was also good but not great. You can add protein to any item, but for essentially the cost of the meal. Adding turkey sausage was $7 and a small portion (and could have gone without), while the sunrise burrito in total was $10 and massive. I will say there was barely any wait at prime time on Sunday because barely anyone knows it's there.

There were a few people sitting in the airy seating area up front who were there for the cafe, as well as various yoga people walking by. As açaí bowls go, the one I got here was quality. Pricey, for sure, but with vegan protein and a strong unsweetened fruity base couple with a nice mix of toppings, there was plenty to be said for it on a nutritional level, and every bite was interesting. They had plenty of other smoothies and toppings so if you want to go all out on it, this is one of what I suspect is a small number of options in central South Carolina. They also had free wifi and it was a good space to sit with a laptop. Not able to comment on the yoga side of things.
