Some of the best sourdough bread I've had in the past few years have come from this place. I kind of wish I started going here earlier but better late than never. I especially like the flavored ones, over the ordinary sourdough. I've yet to try any of their desserts, they seem a bit overpriced to me, but they tempt me on each visit. And their coffee's have been good too! For me though, especially considering the size of the space, the service is what I like the most here. I'm so happy that I wandered into Sour & Salt, and all I can say is... I can't believe that I didn't stop in earlier! No offense to the national chains like Starbucks or Dunkin', but I had been looking for a locally owned shop to buy some bagels in the morning, and I think that I finally hit the mark! I got my typical order of one (1) sesame-seed bagel, and one (1) everything bagel, and they were absolutely excellent! I can't really describe how, but as soon as I bit into them, I could immediately tell that they were freshly and authentically made, and were such a nice contrast to the bagels that I've purchased from the aforementioned chain stores. Furthermore, the staff was so nice and kind, and they seemed genuinely personable and happy that I stopped in. Even though I only got my two (2) bagels, they also had a mouth-watering selection of croissants, muffins, pastries, sweets, etc. on full display in the front. Finally, they had a nice outdoor seating area, which was perfect for a beautiful spring day. Love this place usually but the service this morning could stand some work. The young lady that served me was pretty curt/borderline rude when I ordered but just let it go. Ordered a breakfast burrito to-go and when I got home, it had chorizo, which I did not order. I called to see if I could bring back and the same young lady answered and argued with me that the standard burrito has chorizo (although on ordering site, you have to specify if you want chorizo). Polite guy who waited on me. This was a first visit so I wanted to get a couple of things to try - chocolate eclair, lemon square, and a cinnamon roll. Spent $20. The $7 lemon square had a very subtle (very absent) lemon flavor which I was disappointed with. Good texture, nice crust but it's a summer classic that should make your jowls pucker! The 2 bite eclair was good and $6 was a ridiculous ask. Haven't tried the cinnamon roll but it looks and smells good. For $7 I hope it is. One thing that surprised me - and should not be allowed by any business - was the lack of pricing on the desserts. Everything else was priced though. Glad I tried it but won't be back. read more

The reviews are a bit mixed here, but what I got was unambiguously good. There was a short wait, but not more than I needed to peruse the selection. A carmelized onion sourdough loaf was an easy choice, and was as mouthwatering as it sounds. I heated up bits of it with various spreads for a while. Picking a dessert was tougher, but I was recommended a cup with dark, milk, and white chocolate. Someone else at the register asked me what it was called, which I had no idea, but it turns out it was just the "triple chocolate". There was some sort of wafer embedded amongst the creaminess. I wanted to savor it, but I don't think it lasted a minute as it was so delicious. The shop was small inside but did have some outdoor seating. So if I could give this 10 stars......I would! My wife and I have gone from once before. We got sour dough bread, and some pastries. Sadly I didn't take any pics HOWEVER I've been following their Instagram page and I'm signed up for the text messages. I've been eyeing their raspberry and passion fruit croissant since I saw it in their story. To my surprise my wife picked one up and it was waiting for me when I got home. When I say it was worth every penny she paid. it truly was amazing. The raspberry and passion fruit filling was in every bite. I'm basing my ambiance experience based off the first time I went. I've been a customer of Sour and Salt for a long time now. They have an excellent selection of items! My favorites are the Sourdough bread and the bagels! Ohhh the bagels are so good! I am originally from New England and they are the closest to the bagels I used to get from home. They also have an event space where they hold events. It can also be rented out for private events at a reasonable rate. They are a great part of Rosewood. There is a pet chip scanning station here and also a pet food pantry as the owner often fosters rescues. Note that since everything is made to order, it might take more than a few minutes for them to prepare your order, but it is worth the wait. They also will sell wine to go as well as Sakhar Jams. read more

My partner was on the hunt for scones and since we were in the neighborhood we chose to stop here. My favorite part of this establishment is their seating outside. It is heavily shaded, but very breezy. Perfect for a hot day.Sadly they were out of scones so my partner went with a few other options. The biscuit was decent, I'd say a 6 out of 10, the spanakopita was good but I'm not sure if that was freshly made. I'd give those a 7 out of 10. The coffee cream filled eclair is a total miss. I'd give them one star on any other day but the sandwich was delicious. Might have enjoyed it less if I didn't have to wait for an HOUR AND A HALF. No, they weren't so busy it was taking a while for the kitchen to catch up. After waiting for 45+ minutes, watching around 30 people leave with their orders, we brought attention to the fact we hadn't received our order (two sandwiches). We waited around 20 minutes before the employee who was running orders confirmed he was attempting to put our order in. Finally we received half of our order, which was incorrect. It took another 15 minutes for them to bring out our correct order. Let us know that their cook said they couldn't jump around orders- which was a strange excuse as another customer who had been waiting along with us for his lost order, had received his and subsequently left 30+ minutes prior. Got a "POS system is down so it got lost" excuse and asked for a full refund. Disappointing. Not only is everything sourdough which is amazing since not only am I a fan, but it is a dietary restriction of mine where I can only have sourdough bread and this bakery has been a game changer. Bagel didn't even have cream cheese on one side, barely on the other. Strawberry Twist sandwich had one piece of lettuce and balsamic dressing, not much of a "sandwich". I really want to love this place as it's local, woman-owned, and in a great location on Rosewood. I've been several times now, and I'm not sure why, but my order is incorrect nearly every time. Customer service could use some work as employees act like it's a huge issue to correct an order on the kitchen and often don't know how to run the register. More than once, I've ordered a laminated pastry and realized the inside isn't cooked fully, or a bagel and the amount of cream cheese provided is barely enough to cover the bagel. Not sure if they are growing beyond what they have capacity for, but it may be helpful to focus on quality control and training employees. This bakery has been an almost weekly visit of mine for a bit over a year now. The staff are always very pleasant, and kind when explaining what the new items are. New desserts are often popping up here! They have the basics like cinnamon rolls, bagels, and cookies, but one of my favorites has been the raspberry tart. They have recently (within this passing summer) installed new display cases which look great, and have a cute area you are able to sit outside. It's worth noting there isn't space for indoor seating though (perhaps one day they will be able to get a space with some!). read more

Another great local bakery. Went to get the pretzels and the pretzels did not disappoint. They were soft and delicious. Not hard and chewy. I bought two because I enjoy good soft pretzels which truly are hard to find that are good. They are nit chewy and doughy. I like mine light and airy with a good dough consistency and these delivered. Got a cinnamon roll too which I ate with a cup of coffee. Delicious. Decent food and cleanly environment, however part of my order was forgotten until I inquired about it after a ten minute wait. I was told they were out of the bagel I asked for and so I instead asked for an alternative flavor to which they obliged. Unfortunately it was not toasted as I had requested and there was a scarce amount of cream cheese upon the bagel much to my disappointment. I've been here several times now since this bakery has opened and have had mixed experiences. Today I stopped mid morning to get a baguette, and there was only one left on the shelf, already wrapped. I asked if it was baked fresh today and the woman at the counter said yes, so I went ahead and purchased it. When I got home and was getting ready to cut it into smaller pieces, I found that it was hard as a rock and basically inedible. Service was fine. Breads were terrible. The bakers need to go to an artisanal baking training. It is all about crust, crumb and flavor. I got a loaf of sour dough and 6 bagels to go. I am now throwing out most of a load and 5 1/2 bagels. The bagels were underbaked, have a soft crust, not crisp, not chewy. The crumb is too soft, and the flavor is flat and off. I have a nasty aftertaste in my mouth as I write this. Not a trace of sweetness or malt flavor. Pretty much the same for the load of sour dough. The bread looked fabulous but I only purchased 2 Blondies for my friend and me since we had just had lunch. Unfortunately, these deserts were very disappointing. The texture was crumbly (not like a brownie - almost like old fudge) and tasted like pure sugar. I called to let them know about this and asked if they had tasted the Blondies (thought maybe it was a new recipe that they were trying out since they are a new business). The person I called I found to be very defensive, though I was calm & not aggressive and just wanted to let them know. (I was offered to come back tomorrow and "if they had some" I could get another.
