Great spot. The menu has a large variety and you can tell it's all made from scratch. My husband had the club and seafood soup. The soup was amazing and the sandwich delicious. I had the homemade falafel. The pita was so light and the homemade garlic sauce so so good.

Last minute change in venue brought us to this brunch place in downtown Collingwood. It's the weekend so it was free street parking; regularly $1/hr with 3 hour maximum. Vaccination status was checked at the entrance and then we were seated at one of many booths. Service was excellent! We saw the co-owner (the real boss was the spouse & kitchen chef) of Duncan's working the floor. Aside: Duncan was the name of a cat that ascended to cat heaven decades ago. The homemade food was incredible. I really loved the large bowl of Hearty Beef Vegetable soup. My son had the Butternut Squash selection. Delicious sandwiches; Montreal Smoked Meat and a Traditional Clubhouse. A great Collingwood brunch experience!

On my trip to Blue Mountain and Collingwood, my friend and I visited these spots on our first day. ----- We began our journey in these 2 places.. The Breakdown: Duncan Cafe | 8/10 | $16.50 I got the Traditional Clubhouse sandwich and it was flavourful. The staff were friendly and I loved the interior of the cafe with paintings and some art. It's a cute spot to visit while in Collingwood. Follow @debeats_ for more food spots outside Toronto!

My partner and I spent a lovely weekend in Collingwood and went to Duncan's for breakfast. It's a cozy place filled with artwork, matching the small town feel. We both got a cup of coffee and scrambled eggs with sausage and white toast. The sausage was amazing and you get 3 good sized pieces! The eggs were great as well and we clarified with our server that they don't use any milk or butter when cooking the eggs (perfect for those diary free). The potatoes were a bit on the soft side for me and I would have wanted it to have more of a crunch, but of course that is a personal preference. The price point is also super affordable and the quality of the food is up there. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

3.5 STARS Came for breakfast on a Sunday with a group of 4 and a baby. The restaurant was busy with most tables taken both inside and on the patio. We were seated in a timely manner inside and given a baby seat. Our server was lovely: attentive and very friendly. We all ordered different breakfast dishes, which were served fairly quickly. We all agreed that our dishes were alright. Nothing out of the ordinary. Three of us order eggs benny and we thought they were too salty. Perhaps it was the hollandaise sauce. Overall, a cute place to have breakfast with average food.

Great experience! Amazing service, food didn't leave us disappointed. Overall great experience! We had the Thai spring rolls and the mushroom ravioli. We will be coming back!

I'm not in the Collingwood area very often, but I stopped by here for brunch on my way back from a weekend at Blue Mountain. We picked Duncan's while searching for brunch places based on some pretty good Yelp reviews. That being said, maybe with limited options in the vicinity, the rave reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. So we arrived around 11-ish with a large group of 8 people, no reservations or anything. The restaurant was able to accomodate us without waiting, but gave us two tables for 4. We asked to move the tables, but they said we couldn't because that would block the aisle, which was very reasonable. A few minutes later, they came back and told us that a table for 8 had freed up, which I thought was very considerate of them. Points for service here! I ordered the eggs benedict, which comes with peameal bacon on the English muffin here, so that is a little bit different from most places. I thought the eggs were pretty standard, but some of the home fries were a little bit burnt, and the peameal bacon was too salty. I tried some of my friend's steak, and thought it was a little bit too dry and/or overcooked, but then again, he did ask for medium to medium-well, which isn't really my cup of tea. I liked the vibe in the restaurant, which definitely felt like a small town, community kind of diner, with a bar at the back. The place is vibrant and fun, with lots of cool artwork hanging around the restaurant walls which are available for purchase. Verdict: Duncan's is a decent choice for breakfast/brunch if you're in the area, and the people who work here are very nice and accomodating. However, the quality of the food doesn't get any better than average, so don't set your expectations too high.

I came here with a group of friends and was just able to get a table for 8. They have a few tables for groups but tables of 4 are the best. Breakfast options are available but the diner gets busy around lunch. I really like how all the art on the walls are for sale - adds a distinctive taste to the cafe and also helps to promote local artists. I ordered a steak and eggs. It was very average in quality - the steak was slightly overcooked for medium. Good quantity as it is very filling. General consensus among our group is that it is a nice casual diner with average quality food.

Nice decor but food was okay. Wrap was average; western sandwich was average and the combo breakfast was little portion and average.

The patio was unfortunately in the shade and it was a bit windy and cold, but our hot beverages helped keep us warm. Get there early if you want pastries as they do sell out. If you plan to dine in, you pick a seat and then order at the cafe and settle up then they bring you your food. There's a place outside for you to place your used dishes after you're done. The lunch menu (after 11am) is limited. The croque monsieur ($19) was the size of a regular slice of bread and came with a salad. The roast beef sandwich on baguette was the tiniest sandwich I've seen at a cafe. For almost $15 we thought it would be a much bigger sandwich. The sizing of it would have been more appropriately advertised as a kids meal. We thought the meal was very much overpriced for the portion sizes we got.

The size was great, but I felt it lack some flavour and half the bowl was filled with quinoa. Not a big fan of it, I would have liked less quinoa. My partner had a veggie burger and he liked it. There was a spice kick to it. He wished it came with a side instead of paying additional for it. The following morning we returned to try their açai bowl for breakfast and it was delicious!! Frozen blueberries were provided instead of fresh berries. They could have used seasonal fruits. The crisp coconut pieces added a crunch to each bite. This dish, I would order again. They have a reward system if you sign up. Overall, a nice healthy place to stop by while one is up North enjoying some sports or a little get-away.

The place is nestled along the coast associated with a marina. The complex the restaurant is housed in reminds me of an assisted living vibe that was repurposed as a family resort. Kinda like if you added some water slides and pools to the side of an ol folks home. We walk in, wife and kids begin chirping about how the restaurant looks ok but is giving off some retirement home, but! The patrons are mostly family. We are seated at the back of a nice room , however our back wall adorns a large lcd screen emblazoned with a digital beach scene. My back is to it, so it doesn't bother me too much. Now that ive set your expectations to "questonable"we get to the food. Wife and i not expecting much. We go with the recommendation from my parents to try the tomahawk steak- for four people, kids ordered salmon rice veges, and spaghetti dish, The tomahawk takes about 45 mins to prepare. Comes w a Cesar salad, and we also ordered a calamari appetizer. The house bread is soft warm and fresh. W a sid eof roasted red pepper butter. 5/5 Calamari has light batter w. A nice sauce chipotle mild? Very yum- 5/5 Ceasar salad on point w the right composition of dressing, and fresh greens! 5/5 Kids: My sons who are picky 1. Salmon rice broccolini dish- completely gobbled up. 5/5 2. Spaghetti w carbonara sauce. 3/5. He said it was ok. Maybe too heavy on the cheese. Tomahawk - came out cruise missile style and landed into my top steaks crater. This thing was pre cut, on a meat board , w delicious gravy in a gravy pot, side of perfect mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables? Maybe some were also grilled . The meat was perfectly done a medium- light red , tender, touch of blood. Made to order. Meat was all eaten , as were the veges and the mash 6/5! Considering my expectations were low when i was judging this place on its looks. Also tried a side of the mushrooms- well cooked w good aroma 5/5 Desert was a chocolate lava cake - light cake part and rich chocolate lava part-4/5 Needless to say. Exceeded expectations. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Fresh food for what we ordered. Hidden gem at this seafood restaurant was the tomahawk steak- MVP!. Give this place a try!!! Service was good 4/5
