Allow me to explain all the great aspects: -They open a 4:30AM (huge plus for people like me who like to start the day with a workout before work) -They have a ton of equipment -The staff was super nice -You will rarely (if ever) see a member playing on their phone between sets. The only thing you'll see in their hands is a weight. -You will not find a gym that will give you a better bang for your buck -The members respect the gym -Its hard to explain, but just the atmosphere (music, pace of other members...etc) it makes you want to push yourself harder Make no mistake, this is a gym that functions with an old school muscle factory. This is not a fitness center, athletic club, or anything remotely resembling a place like planet fitness. You come here to work out. The machines have some wear to them from heavy use, but but everything functions properly. With that being said, you may look at the pictures, website, and videos and question if you would fit in at a gym like this. I will say that I was a little intimidated when I researched it as I am a 165lb shell of the man I used to be in college, but trust me, if you're serious about weightlifting, you keep your phone in your pocket, and push your limits, you'll fit right in!! When I finally decided to join, I called and spoke to coach Kirk and told him I wanted to do a session (1st one is FREE, if u have never done CrossFit they have a 1:1 class to teach you all the moves, it does have a fee. Recommend because you don't want to hurt your self doing the wrong moves) My first day I was so scared but everyone was so welcoming and helpful ! And that is what drew me to join. They are a huge family and they welcome everyone ! This is one of the first that I have seen in Redford. My reasoning for going: a yearning to try something different & feel sexy in the process. However, sexy was the last things I was thinking of after trying the beginner pole class recently. Whew, It was hard work, but fun! Lol I burned some major calories! As I have never been on a pole I was kind of nervous & self conscious. But I mustered up the nerve to go after seeing a grand opening free class on their website & passing the building every time I went to a fitness class in the area. I am glad that I did go. I called and left a message that afternoon & received a friendly phone call within an hour. It was one of the owners & she welcomed me to join the class. There are 6 poles in the Fantasy Fitness Studio & they are pretty sturdy (I weigh well, let's just say I am a thick chick). You don't have to worry about the pole coming out the ceiling or the floor. There is a huge mirror in front of the poles to see what you are doing. Don't be intimidated by the idea of pole dancing. It is a welcoming environment and most people have not done it before either. I felt welcomed even though I sucked royally at spinning around the pole (the fireman & fire girl are no joke). We all worked up a sweat as we learned a short routine in the 90 min. class. They also offer fitness classes such as: Zumba, Hotties in Heels, Cardio Strip Tease, Dance Groove, & Baby Bump Boot Camp. They are very reasonably priced and give an early bird discount. I am definitely going back to try a couple of the other classes. Note: Best to wear shorts & tank tops to get skin contact with the pole (makes it easier to do the moves). Parking is in the rear of the building. You will also have to come up with a naughty name while working on your sultry side. Kind of an icebreaker and made it interesting.

Here...no one is should be shy; they make you feel extremely welcome, ok maybe for a second you might be shy but believe me that won't stop them from giving you a naughty girl name (my name was BUBBLES). By the end of this class, I was cat crawling on the floor, dancing seductively on a chair (of course imaging it was guy there), and even tossing my legs up air. Fantasy fitness is a place where you get a workout, have fun dancing around, or get in-touch with your naughty girl side. I met some wonderful ladies and instructors that helped me bring out my wild side. You aren't being JUDGED!!! So get your heels because I highly recommand this place -- clean, friendly, and great staff. This is 2011 -- a good workout doesn't have to be done at a gym anymore; you have to think out side of the box.

The gym is really nice! I learned they recently expanded. On top of the really nice shiny new equipment and clean work space, Nicole did a really great job supervising and scaling the WOD for my mom. It really showed her that she doesn't need to start off with a 300# deadlift just because it's CF. The workout is safe and accessible for all skills levels and walks of life. I will definitely be back to CF248 when I come to the Detroit area again. They were out of their logo shirts this time, maybe they will have some in my size next time! Thanks for the workout!

When you go on…read moreline you see a beautiful gym, they have been marketing a lot lately with AI, enhancing features to the trainers, making the facility seem clean and polished. The pictures show the reality (there was a previous picture of a big rusted hole in a women's locker, that was reported 9 months ago and is still there!) Buckets and towels all over the place when it rains, holes in the drywall above the walking track, stained ceilings, etc. They say the pool is heated, it's always really cold (Someone posted that on face book and they took down that comment immediately, they do that with negative comments). They also say that the place is cleaned every evening, you might want to get a refund and find a new cleaner! The owners are very rude and the manager can be rude at times also. The gym members are typically older and have been going there for years, yet they are putting on new classes aimed at the younger crowd! And don't get me started on the smell, it hits you as soon as you walk in the door, smells like someone or something died in there and it also smells of mold. And no air conditioning. Very surprised the city has not shut this place down! So, if you are looking for a slightly higher prices gym, that is dirty, run down and smelly with no air conditioning, this is the place to do. Don't believe me, just go and tour the place.

I learned that the instructor, Kelli, "floats" and teaches at various yoga centers. I was absolutely blown away by this class, by Kelli, and how welcoming/warm/amazing this studio felt. Since then, I have signed up for the newcomer Yoga Shala package - 30 day for $39 and have been to 3 classes at the Yoga Shala Heights location. I did learn that they have opened a sister studio right by me in West Dearborn on Mich Ave, but I have not been to this location yet. I have tried both Yoga basics and Candelight Yin classes, and will continue to try classes as they have so many different styles - and so many instructors from all over that come to teach, in addition to the regular instructors that teach here. I will be a regular at Yoga Shala, as I incorporate Yoga into my daily routine and will try to visit the studio 2x a week. My happy place.... Yoga Shala you feel like heaven when I walk in, get comfortable, and practice... and you feel like heaven even more-so when I leave. The hardest part is driving home! I am so glad I found you, Yoga Shala. My heart is so heavy.

I'm very pleased to have a location that I don't have to be a member to use their sauna and on top of that you're able to reserve using their app. Please note they did book quickly, so book a head. **Let me start off - every REIF is pricing is different. So confirm pricing before booking. For all their services, they do request you arrive 15 to 30 mins early which I didn't know they'll also allow you to go in early as well. The sauna has it's own room, so no need to change in the restroom. You'll get a total of 45 mins, so make sure to change FAST. Lol! So why 3 stars? Well I was informed they have WIFI, music streaming, and Netflix (if you have an account) all in the sauna area; unfortunately when i tried internet, it was SO SLOW. I literally couldn't do anything - I was glad at least a class was going so i'll have some good music playing in the background (tried to tone out the instructor). I was excited to use the pre-settings in the sauna system but it seems like it wasn't getting heat enough - eventually i cancelled and turned up to the max. I will return but with a plan - soon as i walk in TURN UP THE TEMPERATURE (while i change) and don't count on internet to be working. If this place was closer, then i might look the other way but since i literally passed two other REIF; I was looking for top notch I guess.

She says, "Corporate will send you a check for your deposit." I asked for an email confirmation that I returned my items and I am to receive a refund. She said she would email me. I haven't seen refund or email and had to dispute charges to my bank. I am now reporting them to BBB also for ignoring my phone calls and not replying to any emails.
