I went in to buy live bait. While walking through the fishing section I didn't notice any to purchase. I went up to the first young man who immediately told me they didn't sell any without even checking first. Another young man who worked there named Nick overheard and not only told me they did sell live bait but even took me right to the cooler. Not very often in my shopping expreiences do i encounter such good customer service. Nick went out of his way in a very professional , helpful way to help me find what i needed. Dunham's has a wonderful employee in this young man!!! The first employee I asked for help sure needs more training, or is just lazy. Thank you Nick and keep up the good work!! Dunhams no longer sells fishing licenses and they're fishing selection is horrible, it's kind of a nice store if you want clothes or guns or ammunition, but everything else is kind of spotty read more

Upon entering the store, no one of three people greeted me. I had called before coming because I needed a certain item that Dicks did not carry. The referred me to Dunhams because of my need. I wandered around the store not finding what I had just minutes ago called about. When I went to the front a male and female employee were putting coffee near the checkout. I politely asked for help. He threw down the coffee bags and retrieved what requested. The female was nice enough and checked me out. I will not be returning. I will buy on Amazon. read more

Dunhams does a great job advertising cheap prices and carry a lot of stuff on sale. pay attention at check out! on three different occasions the items were on sale at the rack and then ring up full price at the register. clearly false advertising! they're counting on customers to buy based on sale price and then not pay attention at check out. I was very impressed with the selection that was offered at this store. However, I could not reach half the selections. There were no store associates on the floor to get help as they were all up at the front registers talking amongst themselves. I have been to this store several times and have never had to get a garmet hook to reach higher levels. Not knowing this, I said something to the young rude girl at the checkout that it would have been nice to be able to reach and look at items. She was like there are hooks all over the store to retrieve your items and then continued her conversation with the other 2 associates. Why is there an employee in this store not wearing a mask? It wasn't pulled down. He wasn't wearing one. Your policy on the door clearly states the everyone is to wear a mask. He was walking throughout the store. read more

Great selection for baseball/ softball and football gear...moderately ok seelction of hockey gear, below average selection of fishing gear and all of it low end ( shakespear , danielson , daiwa etc) Service was cheerful and friendly and prices are better than most. Service moves it to 4 stars from 3. I did find some good clearance items on gear my son can grow into next season. read more

First-time handgun purchaser here. I received excellent service, all questions answered politely, excellent knowledge shared at the gun counter. Received the sale price at cashier station even though I was there two days before the advertised sale date. Store was clean clean and organized. I wish all stores and personnel were as efficient and positive as this Dunham's Mishawaka. read more

I bought a safe from Dunhams, brand new. After a week it started acting up. I proceeded to call in and they said I could not exchange my safe, or assist, because it was a floor model. It was brand new and not a floor model! I told her that and she stated, "Oh well the warranty is the same. We cannot help call the manufacturer." No big deal all my stuff is stuck in the safe. So the store manager suggest I speak with the assistant store manager, both of which him and the store manager are off until Thursday. I reached out to Stack-On and now it's time for the wait. I would not shop at Dunhams or buy Stack-On product if avoidable. I know it's a defect on an item and not the stores fault, but the management is very uneducated on what product is sold, especially if they accuse me of buying a floor model safe, over the phone, with no transaction numbers or receipt. read more

Kinda pricey, but still cheaper than Dicks. Staff seems to be on a short leash, very uptight and nervy. If you catch the sales on ammo, actually can get a great deal. But you have to come in every other day for that. I am lucky, I work nearby.Not horrible, but good luck gettting a clerk to help you! read more

Let's start with the good...lots of outdoor gear for a fair price, most ammunition is always in stock or even on sale, and they now carry pistols, but that's where it gets bad. The female manager at this location absolutely refuses to sell firearms, not that she'll say " no I won't sell you that" but she never actually does the FBI required background check and will just tell you that you've been denied or she can't get anyone to answer the call. I've spoken with quite a few other people who have experienced the same thing. I even went so far as to ask someone else for help and she interrupted us before he could even do the background check. From what I've seen her do, she just sits at her desk for 25-30 minutes and messes around and then she comes out and says no one answered her call or that I've been denied...REALLY???. My experience at other shops is an under 5 minute phone call and bam that's it. What really burns me is if you don't want to sell firearms then you shouldn't be working in a sporting goods store that sells firearms. read more

The manager was rude to his employee in front of the customers and was very unprofessional. The manager intimidated the employee and started to yell at him. The manager then was rude to me and my friend and was becoming hostile towards us. The manager was unprofessional and did not care how he treated his employee or the customers in the store ! read more
