The man is very knowledgeable regarding weapons and how they are built. After spending an hour on the phone and feeling good about the contact I went ahead and had him build an AR for me with custom cerakote paint work on both sides. The covid crisis forced some parts delays for him but it got delivered to me in about eight weeks. I am sure in normal times it would have been less. The unboxing was amazing. No way one can get this kind of gun out of a local gun shop. And his paint work is perfect. If you have a question during the build as I did at times, a quick call gets it solved. You get the owner on the phone. Try doing that with some large company building your gun. Now all I am waiting for is for him to post my gun in his You Tube video collection!

The racks are not placed to encourage curiosity or exploration. It's more like a garage. One of the reasons many people hang out in a favorite gun store are not just the products but the engagement of the staff, they shoot the breeze with you if it's slow. They encourage you to hold, look and engage with the products. They educate you. They shoe interest in you and your needs and get you talking. It's not just a gun store thing, it's true at barbershops, hairdressers, photography stores, ho by stores etc. you engage with the customer, encourage sales and a friendly atmosphere. None of that was present. I'd overlook the dark dingy store if they got the rest of it right. These guys could not care less that I was there. They did not seem to be working or busy although one was on the phone. I was the only customer with four of the kids sitting at desks. They made no effort to show me anything or what I might be looking for. I would have scored them lower but they indicated they mostly do business by online auction and we're just starting out in retail. Maybe so but a little common sense, friendliness and act like your there to do business instead of acting like kids in grandma's basement glowed to video games. The price I bought my auction item was fair and I appreciated that they called me since their auction software failed to send me an invoice or notice that I had won. I hope they get better at this and are successful but I would encourage them to learn how to merchandise and retail sell. They store and their behavior is the face of their business and in the long run it does matter.

Dunham's has their "Monthly ammo specials" that they are very proud of. TODAY -April 11th, we went in to purchase some ammo and asked the nice clerk where was this particular ammo on sale. He handed us two boxes as requested by us and we went about the store picking up other items to purchase. We checked out of the store about 4:30pm and moved on to the local pizzeria for dinner. Over dinner we discussed how much money we had spent and realized we had over paid for the sale ammunition. We returned to the store by about 6:00pm same day - an hour and half after purchase, and brought the error to the cashier's attention. He was very nice, but politely informed us that the ammo we had received (and paid for) was not the ammo on sale in the advertisement. He said the ammo manager needed to handle this. The very young ammo manager (Cody I believe is his name) was quite apathetic to the issue and rather reluctantly went to the back to see about the correct ammo. He later returned to the front and informed us that they don't carry the ammo advertised in the sale flyer. We asked if we could either return that which we got in error or get the discounted price for that which was given to us in error (their error mind you) and he snidely responded - "NO returns on ammo, no exceptions" and literally walked away. I have never seen such poor customer service, literally no attempt what-so-ever to make good; in fact, a rather rushed attempt to walk away from the whole thing. This experience placed a VERY BAD taste in my mouth for Dunham's and I expect I will not only never shop their again, but most certainly recommend others do not either. If I could rate Dunham's Sports in Harrison Arkansas a ZERO star, I certainly would - please stay away!
