I have been going to this Dunham's location in Rome Georgia for a year now. The service and selection is outstanding to say the least. No matter what department you look in you're bound to find multiple choices for what you're looking for. I received excellent information on multiple products as well as useful suggestions from a few of the friendly and informative employees. Always having sales and plenty on clearance all the time! I went in to the Dunham's store in Rome Georgia. Been in here many times and always have a hassle with the dept manager in sporting goods. His name is Ted Loppinski and he is as lazy as the day is long. He hates to wait on anybody. While waiting on him to check a guy out on a firearm purchase he spent his time bad mouthing his company and fellow employees in front of several customers waiting for service. I was a customer service manager for over 30 years and I'd have fired this lazy guy years ago. He bragged about how long he'd worked at Dunham's. I like the prices and products here but hate the lack of service. read more

DONT EVER GET A JOB HERE. I've never seen a retail management that bad !! i worked here for about a little over a month, in all reality was fired for letting a manger know I wasn't going to make it to work because the lack of sleep, and I didn't feel safe to drive. after not even a week or work another one of my coworkers accused me of missing work because I was with a dude the night before, I didn't find out about this situation until I had made it to back to work after being sick that Monday, no one even was respectful Or responsible to come to me and ask me what happened, they had already jumped to conclusions. most all of your mangers drink or other substances while on the job. I had let two mangers know about another co worker sexually harassing me and not a single person had done a thing about the situation. they treat there employees like crap, horrible pay for the amount of work you put up with !! If you're ok with racial profiling then this is the establishment for you! We were in Rome for a baseball tournament which was paused due to a rainstorm. We were soaked so we went to Dunham's Sports to purchase some dry clothes. My son (a twelve year old American boy of Hispanic descent) and his friend (who is Caucasian) were playing around (like most boys do in sports stores) and were literally followed around the store by an older Caucasian female employee. When they tried out a wiffle ball set, she came up to them and asked my son specifically "Don't you think you're a little too old to playing with this?" My son responded and said "no, ma'am I'm twelve". She told him "wiffle ball sets are for smaller children". I should add , at this point in the review, that barely twelve feet away from my son and his friend, were two older Caucasian boys (at least 16 years of age judging by the fact that we saw them get in their car and drive off later in the afternoon) that were also playing wiffle ball in the aisles...she did not approach them once. My son and his friend moved on from the wiffle ball sets and proceeded to play with a phone at the store (full transparency here: no, they should not have been playing with a phone that is used by the store to communicate within departments) the woman scolded only one of the boys... I'm sure by now you can guess which one she scolded. She also took a break from shadowing my son and his friend; and, approached my friend and I asking if I was going to "try any of that on?" I didn't think much of the question at the time (as I was unaware that she had been stalking my son at that point), but with hindsight I would suspect there was more to that. As we were in line to checkout, she approached my husband and I and asked "Do you know what YOUR son was doing?" She proceeded to tell us about only the phone incident and then when we said we'd address it with him and that it sounded like "twelve year olds just acting like kids", she gave a big sigh, rolled her eyes, shook her head and said in a voice dripping with condescension "that's how they learn". We immediately asked for her manager. As she didn't complain not once to my son's friend's parents, who were standing right next to us in line and even asked why she didn't mention their son's behavior to them (as their son also picked up the phone while she was shadowing them); nor, did we request her opinion on the matter of how children learn. It was a completely un-merited comment; moreover, she made no mention of the wiffle ball incident because I am sure she was well aware of how that would appear. The manager assured us he'd handle it, and we can only hope that he was sincere. There is no place for that kind of ignorance and bitterness in society; consequentially, because of her shameless display of her own bigotry we will never return to that store again. read more

This place is terrible. The front of the store looks trashy, clothes were laying all over the floor, and the place was scattered. Couldn't find anyone to help us and had to walk all the way to the front of the store twice to find someone who could help. It seemed as if we were inconveniencing everyone there. Do not go here. Don't waste your time and money. I hope corporate reads this and does something. read more

Dunham suddenly believes their minimum wage staff is now expert at handwriting analysis. No longer is the phrase "check ID" valid on the back of your credit card in this store. If you're going to have to pay a markup this high, save yourself some nonsensical harassment and spend it somewhere else read more

The service in this place is terrible. I've went in on several occasions to buy things on sale only to have my time wasted and having to leave because nobody asked me if I need help with anything. I seriously do not know if this is actually a free museum or a retail outlet. I've yet to meet anyone that works here that will actually ask if you have a question or need help.Don't waste your time here. There are locally owned sportsman and gun shops in the Rome area. I'll gladly pay them more when they welcome my time and money. I will never shop here...well, walk around waiting for someone to ask me if I need help, again. read more

My family and I have never been treated so unprofessional and rude as the employees in this store. No customer service at all. It took 10 minutes just to get the dressing room unlocked. The store only had a few customers, so it was not busy at all. The store manager was very hateful to my granddaughter when she thought that I could not hear.... I told the employee that her actions were out of line and uncalled for. We went to buy cloths for a week long trip, and had picked out about $400.00 in merchandise to purchase. After the rudeness of the employee I could no longer do business with this company. I went to Hibbett sports and found most all that we needed. The store is in the Mt. Berry mall in Rome Ga......
