Poor service here. My daughter bought a jacket on oct 8th. We lost the receipt but the zipper doesn't even work. Today was the first day we used the jacket and now they won't return it. Dwayne is the manager and was totally unprofessional. We bought a 89$ jacket and now can't even use it. I'm boycotting this location and all other dunhams. I have the card and transaction date/time and he won't even look into this. He said he has no way of looking it up...which is a lie! Look at the receipts from 10/8...my receipt will be in there! How can I give -5 stars for this location. Manager Seth had a bad attitude, terrible customer service experience. As a golfer and play many other sports. Instead of taking my friend to Dicks sporting store we came to Dunham's. Had many things in my hand and was ready to make the purchase. Then one of the items was out of the box, it was on sale. I just wanted to see what they would price it for ?? I was shocked and surprised for the work that the manager did. I saw the item for $5.97, so I left the box where I saw it sitting separately. The manager didn't know what to price it for then he told me $10.99. I got very angry while I had many other things to purchase. I was trying to show him where I found it with the box. Then he told us that we need to leave. Corporate please correct your employees and your managers, is this how your stores do business?? If so then. Not only my friends and I will shop in your stores. Do not shop here they are racist will not sell you a firearm even when you have an active CPL license. manager and employee handling my application touching next thing I'm denied. Manager stated you must have a felony record.Then I proceeded to show my cpl. Now have a dumb found look on his face Horrible service. Location need to be shut down. I bought three pairs of jeans and tried one of the three pairs on and all the same size thinking that they all fit, as the first fit perfectly. I got the others home and was going so I tried on another pair and the other and neither fit. So I went back to the store just to exchange them. I could not find the receipt, I did;t think it was a big deal. I got to the store and was told that they couldn't;t take them back without a receipt and neither the cashier nor the manager seemed to really give a rip. Their policy now is no receipt no exchange. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews.... Good selection of firearms, knowledgeable and patient staff, and fair prices. I bought a hand gun, first one that came from the back had a scratch on it because the lock on it was too big causing the gun to get scratched when the box was closed....so I asked for another. The guy who helped me got me another one from the back without being annoyed by it and I was on my way. I'll be back as long as the prices stay competitive. Suggestion: make sure the guns aren't getting scratched in the boxes... nobody wants a brand new gun with a ding, knick, or scratch! read more

The Roseville Michigan store is horrible. The staff working the floor was rude, arrogant, unhelpful and utterly useless. All I needed was some help picking out some dumbbells in the weight section. I literally watched six employees 15 feet for me have some sort of staffing argument, and no one paid me any mind. There was no air-conditioning in the store, it was about 90° in there, and I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. with employees like that, I'm not surprised that Amazon is destroying you. read more

The employees like to ignore you while stand around talking to one another. All I did was ask if they had the ammo that was advertised in stock. They looked at me, as if to say Don't you know we are out of ammo. I know they have received a few shipments of ammo in the last few months, but it is mysteriously never in stock. read more

Poor service and terrible attitudes. Came in for a first time firearm purchase and waited in line for about 25 minutes. After reaching the counter I was then treated as if I was being annoying for asking important questions. Once I chose a firearm I was given an application to fill out and told that I didn't need to write down my SSN (which, honestly I prefer to have as few paper copies of it floating around as possible) so I took the salespersons advice and left it blank. After filling out my application I waited another 20 minutes while they helped other people and eventually after he noticed me eyeing him he came over and told me flatly that my application had a "hold" on it and I would be called within a week about its status. While this was going on, the other woman (white) who was being helped was given different instructions and her application was approved within minutes. I have no record, am a US citizen and have made no recent address changes so I can only assume that the holdup occurred because of the lack of SSN. I called after 7 days and was told flatly that if I didnt receive a call then application was still "on hold" and could be for a "very long time" even though the 1st associate told me I would hear from them within a week. When I quoted MI law that states that all firearm applications will be approved automatically after a week by the state, I was told "we don't follow that" and hung up on. DO NOT SHOP HERE. They do not care about customers and have what I feel to be racist overtones as well. I will obviously spend my money and purchase elsewhere though it is a shame as I had found a beautiful piece. read more

If i could give 0 stars i would have. We have 2 young nice gentleman today that helped us. This old lady at the register gave us an attitude straight away because we used 10% coupons. She sighed so damn loud, rolled her fuckin eyes and then started complaining to us saying is it screenshotted is that why i cant scan it. Even THOUGH THE FIRST COUPON WAS SCREENSHOTTED AS WELL! she had no problems with the first one so why the hell is she complaining? This place is the biggest joke, it's like it got stuck in 1992 and never updated anything from there. They still use accordion folders at the register, the registers look like they've never been updated, and they print useless coupons that are good for a week and don't work on half the stuff. The store just gives off a depressing feeling, I don't know if it's the nasty yellow lighting in the store or the pissed off overworked employees at the register. I felt bad for the guy at the register as I barely got to speak with him as he was either constantly answering phones or getting chewed out by his manager, dude looked frustrated and their managers seem to be critical of every single thing the employees did, haven't heard one thing positive from the manager, just negative comments the whole time. From the moment I walked in the store I just got nasty looks, from employees to other shoppers (they have a pretty interesting customer base...). I just needed some ammo, which I found surprisingly easy, but the in the minute I grabbed my .45's I heard so much shit talking and complaining, it made me wonder why these people wait 30 minutes just to talk to someone about a gun (if you call it conversation, they seemed pretty rude behind that counter), again... overworked constantly answering phones to the point where they can't even properly service you, very understaffed and that really shows on Dunham's end considering the whole store is practically empty) After I grab my ammo, I wait another 30 minutes in line, which was understandable with all the social distancing and keeping the employees safe. Then when I get closer I notice I'm only waiting so long because people are cutting in line without knowing because they formed two lines and the people setting up the lines couldn't figure how to make it obvious that there's only one line. Someone had told another manager about the line getting messed and she proceeded to bark at the employees ringing at the register like it's their fault, you're the manager take some responsibility. These people are busy ringing people up and servicing customers (lets not forget about the phones...), but the whole time I see the managers doing absolutely NOTHING to help, in fact, I don't see them doing anything at all except for constantly bitching at employees. It seems like most of problems stem from the management. Like I said earlier, when I finally got to the register I was kindly greeted by the guy at the register, and that's about it because the rest of the time he was on the phone or getting bitched at by management. He told me to have a good day, I told him the same, and that he can do better, he smiled and thanked me and that seemed to make his day a hair better. Long story short, this place really sucks, go to dicks or just pay the extra 2 dollars for a box of ammo at the range, this place wasn't worth my time or patronage. read more

Better make sure you save your receipt like we're back in the 80's because you can't exchange anything without it. Ridiculous that every store asks for your phone number, email address and half your personal info and they can't make record of your purchases in case you need to make an exchange without a receipt. Every other store that asks if your a rewards member can seem to bring up your past purchases but not Dunham's this technology is too complex for them. Thanks for nothing Dunham's you have no problem taking my money and flooding my email with your 20% off coupons but when it comes to helping out your customer with a simple size exchange you tell them all sales are final. I LOVE THAT DUNHAM'S IS A MICHIGAN STORE. I read their Wikipedia page and the 1st location opened in 1937 in W. Bloomfield and they've grown to have 230 current stores, but they are still headquartered in Troy Michigan! GOOD FOR THEM & GOOD FOR US MICHIGAN RESIDENTS! I've been shopping at Dunham's in Roseville, since back in the early 90's when they were located where Sam's Club is currently at. They've always had a great selection of what I am looking for, and if they don't, they almost always have a suitable substitute. Starting in 2015 I started buying mainly firearms, clothing and shoes from them. I have also bought 3 very large safes from the Roseville store and spent many, many, many of my hard earned paychecks at the Roseville store and their prices have always been competitive, even when markets like bullet prices fluctuate on a daily basis. In 25+ years, I have never had buyers-remorse, or left the store feeling like I had been ripped off. There was an issue with one of the safes I bought, I don't remember what the problem was, it may have been that the safe wouldnt fit in my house, but I cant be sure. I do remember very vividly that I was a little frustrated to say the least. Jim, who was the manager at the time (and still may he, haven't been to the store in 4-5 months), worked out some type of a deal for me and I left feeling relieved and thankful for the sizeable discount I was given and that made up for whatever the problem was that I was having. That's a very good feeling. They also have a lengthy return period for everything except bullets and firearms, I believe. They always have A TON OF INVENTORY and I like this store because they have a lot of high quality, unique brands and items other sporting good stores are very unlikely to carry. They carry a huge hat, hoodie, tshirt, jersey selection for The Detroit Tigers, Pistons, Lion, U of M, Michigan State and others! For example, over the last few years they've had a large display of "Detroit vs. Everybody" clothing. That may not be everyone's cup choice but they went out of their way to carry a local Detroit brand and as a small business owner for 19 years, that tells me quite a bit about a company like that and I hope you'll join me and their legion of faithful customers and continue to shop and support this great Metro Detroit Sporting Goods Landmark! I honestly cannot think of a reason not to give them 5 stars. I know their cashier staff rotates employees every 6-12 months, but that's quite normal in any retail store. Check Dunham's out, I think you will find yourself enjoying their huge inventory! read more

This place is a complete and total craphole! If I could give 0 stars I would!!! I've been here maybe 4 times and completely disappointed each and every time beyond belief...i've actually been screamed at by a pre-pubescent teenager that they've got working for them, i couldn't believe it. We were waiting a good 10 minutes to try tennis shoes on and we couldn't find a single employee. My husband cracked open the stock room door and said "hello, is anyone here?" and from across the store some little punk comes screaming at us not to go in the stockroom because it's employees only!!! If I weren't holding about 5 shoes( that I wanted to try on) I would have smacked him silly for talking to anyone that way especially customers!!! We went straight to the manager and he did nothing! This Particular Dunhams is the first review that I have ever cared to take the time and share with others so they don't make the same mistake I did and walk into this joke of a store. If I could rate it negative 5, I would. I don't even know how it's still open with the way it's managed. There might have been 2 people working in the whole place at 4 pm and one of the 2 were in the back. One of the sales associates came running out of the break room telling us to stop "playing" with a Turkey call. Geez, one star is more than Dunham's Roseville deserves. Yesterday afternoon, we went to the store to buy soccer shoes for my son. Guy takes forever to wait on us and another father- ok, your busy, I get it. We tried on a few sizes and then he disappears. We are waiting and the rest of my kids are mischievous. Finally give up as there is no assistance and start scanning the product bar codes on my amazon app. Figure two days with amazon is faster than these idiots. Decide to leave and on our way out, our shoe guy is walking in with two coworkers all with fast food in hand. We went down the street to Sports Authority and had a great sales experience. read more

I don't even know were to begin! The second I walked in the door I thought I should just leave and spend more money somewhere else. There were no employees to be seen, so obviously we weren't greeted at all. Its very dim all through out the store. I walked to the back because I needed soccer cleats for myself and my daughter, and found an employee, asked her to help, and she did not say a word to me. Not hi, hold on, boo.... nothing. Then here comes another employee, they start chatting, so I speak up, HELLO I NEED SOME HELP HERE. Got her attention, took nearly 10 minutes to bring out my daughters cleats. Then I still needed help for me, and after a few attempts and her rude comment of "You can't expect clearance ones to be in your size' I just said forget it. Moved onto the shin guards, you can't hardly see in that isle at all. So left there. Then there was a good deal on soccer pants and jackets, so I go to grab my size, 4 pants later I finally find one with a tag! Go pay, takes almost 15 minutes. Leave and I had to come back later because I didn't like the soccer outfit. Go in with my son now and get him cleats, again nightmare process took us nearly 30 minutes. We get to the register and are trying to pay but have to wait for a manager to finish the return. Now my son is saying he needs to use the rest room, I ask where it is the cashier tells me, the manager is standing there too....... We run to the back and guess what is locked at all times??? The bathroom! Now I am frantically looking for an employee, find one and he uses the rest room. Now at this point I am just beyond mad. The cashier and the manager know that they lock the bathrooms at all times so why didn't they say that???? I will never ever return to your store. If you hate your job that much get a new one! I walked into the store today because of the flyer in the mail with the tactical Remington and Mossberg shot guns on sale. Went over to the showcase and counter of the hunting department and stood there for 25 minutes looking into the showcase trying to see what was in there . there were 4 or 5 other men wandering around where I was ! That is 6 customers that needed help ! I was ready to purchase a Mossberg today and would you believe absolutely no employees anywhere !!! When I was walking out I ran into 4 employees all hovering around the cash register area in a circle BSing with each other, so I politely asked why there was no one in the hunting department and all of us over there that needed help ! The older lady replied back to me in a very snippy and rude tone and said " There are 2 men working there and I just saw both of them in the department ! " Total lie ! I turned around as I was walking out to see if any of them were going to try to help the 4 others waiting and they had not moved from their little gathering spot ! Still talking away !!! I spend a lot of money at Dunham's over the years , but I WILL NEVER step foot in the Roseville store again ! Its really a shame I had to drive all the way out to the Warren store to buy my Mossberg ! By the way the service was quick , polite and helpful ! I was at the Dunham located at 32470 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066. My son was moved from linebacker to running back and needs new gloves. I noticed that you carry the new Under Armour Highlight Receiver gloves and stopped by after work. This store has the gloves locked in a case and I wanted to see if you carried a pair in a mens small in red or black. I looked for an employee, but could not find one, the young man at the register paged overhead for me but no one came. As I stood in line at the register again 2 other employees walked up and avoided eye contact with the line and spoke about who was to man the left side of the store and who was to man the right side of the store. No one greeted any customers and the lack of workers in the store coupled with their inability to recognize where and whom their paycheck originates from is sad. At this time when so many companies are going belly up from lack of sales and you have customers with money in hand that you are not willing to take shows me that you are not in need of my business any more. I shall travel 1 mile down the road to the Sports Authority, thankfully they price match, greet at the door, have adequate staffing and a cleaner store so switching my place of business is simple. read more
