She listened to what Mom wanted in flavors, the level of elegance we wanted, and told us she would get together with staff and come up with some designs. Well...we chose a 3 tiered cake with the following flavors: Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling, white cake with strawberry mousse, and strawberry cake with strawberry cream cheese filling. The decorative element was simple but reflected the fall flowers that Mom loves...and then Sam suggested we do a Victorian type decorative element....she knew best. The cake was the best thing of the day and everyone at the party commented on how moist and flavorful the cake was. I had a piece of each...the white cake with strawberry mousse filling was in the top 3 of my favorite cakes. This definitely the place to get an elegant cake at reasonable prices. They get three stars because they all get three stars. The only difference between this one and the other locations is the staff. Lucky for them, they are friendly and fast. But they are all friendly and fast. I will say that this location is EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN...and that is a variable that is not always the case. I will say that the staff accommodate subtleties in my requests...lots of mayo...lots of peppers...less oil, cut on the bias (cut at a diagonal instead of straight across the sandwich).....which I just said to mess with them. Actually I just think it is weird to cut a sandwich in half, not on the diagonal. My mother would not approve. I keep hoping that WikiLeaks with tell the Jimmie Johns story and I will understand how two college students living in the UIC dorms just could not get good food, and so they started getting stoned and creating these sandwiches.
