It's Wednesday 6/16/2026, 11:31am. Google hours have this place opening at 11am and states they are open. It's closed, no one opened the place today. I have been an ambassador of Grassano's Oak Lawn since the first day I had it in spring 2003. Would bring groups there (when the dine in was still open) from over an hour south just to get their stuffed/deep dish. This is quite unfortunate, as we drove from New Lenox to try this place. This is just sad, change your hours or ensure you staff the place. There is literally no one here and their phones aren't forwarded. We won't be promoting this place to our friends that loved Oak Lawn. read more

So the Grassano's pizzeria near Bedford Park, has been my wife and I favorite pizza for years. We moved to Manteno, and discovered Mama Grassano's was actually the same pizza. Of course we've tried every other pizzeria in Manteno, and hands-down Grassano's is by far the best. Then I've read all of the reviews, about the no sauce, not enough sauce, the lady upfront is rude, but it's the best pizza from here to Bedford Park. it's exactly what a tavern style, Chicago style pizza is supposed to taste like. They have gotten so disappointing...We ordered tonight, 1/17/23, and ordered Extra Sauce because their pizza has been too dry! There are pieces of this pizza that have NO sauce at all! My husband called, (we wanted to bring it back and get another one with sauce,) whoever answered talked to the cook and he said he put extra sauce on it, and my husband again told her that there isn't any sauce on it, and she said the owner isn't in and we can't do anything about it!!!! Out of the 1/2 of dry pizza we choked down, we didn't have the fresh garlic on it that we also ordered! YUCK!!! UPDATE: My husband talked to the owner today, 1/18/23 and she tried to defend those pictures below....We ate enough pizza to know that you should have sauce...No offer for another pizza with sauce and the fresh garlic. ordered a small 10 inch thin cheese pizza with six additional ingredients and paid over $25 all the menus online I can see based off of what's published. It should've been more like $16. Not sure what they're trying to do there but I'm not happy with the cost . Food quality excellent. read more

Owner is terribly rude! They charger you extra for cheese and peppers but doesn't make it priority for you to receive them. A hole in the wall that needs to be permanently sealed. I would never give this Lady my money ever again. read more

They've always been on time and flexible with preparing orders later if needed. Their sauce is more so on the sweet side and just simple good zahh. I swear I think Mama Grassano's is the only thing bringing me joy these days I don't know if I could go on in this world without them! read more

Most definitely the worst pizza I've ever had. I felt nauseated after one slice of sausage pizza, but thought it might just be the heat and the fact that everyone else waiting for their pizzas kept their cars running, and the fumes were a bit much. 6 cars, all running, all seemingly in need of oil changes. So I drove off and parked in some shade and tried a second slice. Started to feel sick immediately. It tasted like either the sauce or the sausage was off somehow. I'm about to heat up a couple slices of the cheese pizza against my better judgment to see if that's any different. Also, don't call this pizza thin crust. MONICAL'S down the road is thin. This is way too thick to be called thin. If they weren't only taking cash I might call and complain and see about cancelling my credit card transaction. The italian beef is good and the tomato bread is good but my issue is always with the pizza or the puffs, where's the sauce? i instantly remembered why we haven't ordered pizza from there in awhile and as soon as i took my first bite i remembered... yep there's no sauce. The sauce that is found by the crust is pretty tasty so i don't know why they don't add more. Sales would be better and they can actually charge a few dollars more if the added more sauce! read more

My husband went in last night to order 2 Steak Sandwich's & a veggie basket. The Steak Sandwich's tasted like leather & the veggie basket was not very good. The most unappealing part of his visit was listening to the woman in charge, dropping the F bomb as she was talking to her employee. Not judging the woman for cussing, most of us do it, just think there are certain times & places that you just shouldn't swear & that is one of them. Delicious thin & stuffed pizza. We order Mama Grassano's weekly. We have tried other restaurants in the area and nothing beats Mama Grassano's pizza. Piping hot sauce, chunky veggies and tasty cheese & sausage. The smell is incredible! The owner is a real Karen. She loves to argue with customers. The pizza is horrible, and the beef, I wouldn't even feed to my dog. The beef tastes like it is drowned in vinegar to preserve whatever freshness is left of it. If you want to be served food poisoning with an attitude, enjoy! read more

I used to live a block away from the Grassano's in Oak Lawn and I would get a cheese pizza puff at least twice a week for the last 10 years. When I moved out here I was very sad to let it go. Love this place. Plenty of substance on the pizza. Great flavor, one of my favorite crust styles this makes it a 1st choice when I'm in town. Great part too is it's not an expensive pizza option. I have been ordering from this place for a few years now. Generally order at least once or twice a week. We like the food and rarely have an issue. However there have been times when they have forgotten something and it goes by the way side because we don't want to complain. The experience I had last night brought me over the edge and I will never step foot in their door or order another thing from them. I waited over a half hour to go pick up a pizza that I received wrong after opening it when I returned home. I called to tell them it was made wrong. They insisted it was not and said that their was nothing they could do. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told she wasn't there. When I finally got irate and said what am I suppose to f-----eat then cause I can't eat this , this way. And mind you not being picky here just cannot due to medical issues. Which I never even got the opportunity to say. She said let me call my supervisor. Then came back on the line and said we will make you a new pizza. You can get it in 30 minutes. Fine. So twenty minutes later the supervisor is calling me saying we played back your phone conversation and she did it the way you said. I'm like I order from you all the time and always get my pizza the same way. If you look back on my history you will see that she started chewing me a new asshole from using the f bomb to her girl well it was not directed at her and it's funny now that I see they use that word frequently in their establishment from what I've just read. This supervisor was not only the rudest person but she hung up on me three times told me if I intended to pick up this pizza I was paying for it!!! And hung up before I could even discuss medical issues or anything with her. When calling back answered rudely now what. I don't know about anyone else but in my book and the way I was raised the customer is generally right and you don't treat a good customer that way. Well my opinion for what it's worth is simply this a supervisor that conducts herself in that manner has no business being a supervisor and working with young kids teaching them such rude tactics should be fired. I'll never know though cause I'm done with that place. You lost a good paying customer. I hope your happy!!! read more

What a great local gem of a pizza place. I love their mozzarella sticks and pizza puffs! I've never been a fan of thin crust pizza but would eat Mama Grassano's any day. Not to mention they're super fairly priced for what you get. If you haven't yet, try their wings!
