And what I found completely amazed me, and exceeded my highest of expectations. After being awarded the NC Triad Yelp Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Mill Mountain Coffee & Tea, near Tanglewood Mall, in Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. The Mill Mountain Coffee & Tea on Starkey Road in Roanoke, VA, is a former bank that was converted into a coffee shop by Blake Construction, a company that also handles many of their projects. This location opened in 2012, after the original downtown Roanoke store was established in 1990 by founder Dave Johnson. The Starkey Road location featured a unique renovation, including turning the old vault into a walk-in cooler and adding a drive-up window.  When I entered the Coffee Shop today, I was attracted by its magical cozy ambiance and by the fine lines and curves of its renovation architectural design. Known for its artisanal coffee blends and curated tea selections, I was also impressed with their menu, that besides freshly baked pastries, also included a nice egg variety plates for breakfast and creative sandwiches for lunch. The place offered a cozy retreat for coffee enthusiasts. College students could take advantage of their Free WiFi to research and write their reports using their laptops. Friends could meet there to spend quality time talking to each other. Entrepreneurs could use the place to brainstorm business ideas over a cup of savory coffee. Art enthusiasts could view the artists display works, and even purchase one to add to their collection. When it was my turn to make my order, I approached the counter and a bright and friendly young lady took my order. I ordered a breakfast plate with two fried eggs over easy, bacon, and white toast, with a large Mocha Coffee to drink. The cook did an excellent job cooking my food, just how I had asked it done. At the entrance there was a Community Bulletin Board with different announcements and advertisements. I happened to find one for this year's performance of the Nutcracker at the Burgland Center, which I had been wondering about when ticket sales were selling. In conclusion, I highly recommend this coffee shop, not only for its great coffee and tea, for its food menu, for its exceptional customer service, and cozy atmosphere, that together make for an extraordinary dining experience.

The prices here are typical of any Starbucks, whether you get a hot drink or a cold drink and you can always get water for free. Starbucks is a coffeehouse that you can trust to get your favorite drinks. While the prices are competitive and slightly overpriced, the Starbucks brand is known worldwide, so you can be sure that you're getting a premium product. The trenta black tea that I ordered was good and refreshing. It helped me calm my nerves and helped me transition into the evening ahead that day. For the most part though, my experience here at this Starbucks location in North Roanoke was very chill and pleasant. The sounds of the blenders making espresso and frappunchinos was nice along with the house music that plays virtually constantly was music to my ears. And so, if you are looking for a chill spot to enjoy the downtime of the daily grind or need your daily Starbucks fix, consider coming to this Starbucks location in North Roanoke, if you're in the area. The baristas here are wonderful and great, even when they're trending to the drive thru window customers. They'll make time for you. This Starbucks location is located in North Roanoke, near the Valley View Mall and the Walmart. It's physically located at 4801 Valley View Boulevard NW. Like all Starbucks globally, they accept the local currency in cash as well as major credit cards. Mobile payments are good too, via the Starbucks app. As far as parking goes, there's plenty of parking here for y'all who drive. Just park around the valley view mall and walk on over. There's also limited parking around Starbucks itself and there's the aforementioned drive thru for added convenience. If you are like me, bus route 15 comes to the Valley view mall, so you need to walk from the bus stop. Route 25 comes into the area too, but you'd have to walk 2 miles from the Roanoke airport bus stop. Of course, there's always Uber and Lyft to get you to where you want to go, here to North Roanoke Starbucks, when it is primary destination #1 for your first stop of the day or night in the area. And so, Starbucks is a cool little place to come to when you want refreshments. The baked goods are delicious too. I usually head for their brownies, but during my time here in Roanoke, I decided not to. Maybe in the future when I have more time to spend in Roanoke. And this Cold Stone Creamery located in Christianberg, Virginia is the perfect example. When we arrived I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place and the well organized it was with lots of colorful informational posters with many photos of the ice-cream being sold there. Two friendly young ladies and a young man gave us a warm welcome and answered all the questions we had about the store and its ice-cream products. You could immediately tell they enjoyed working there. After reviewing all the ice-creams and posters of the different creations that could be made, I ended up ordering from their Signature Creations Menu, the Peanut Butter Cup Perfection served inside a Waffle Bowl. My friend ordered one of the same. It was interesting to watch the servers preparing the ice-cream creations on top of a frozen granite stone as they mixed customer-selected mix-ins (in our case, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Peanut Butter, and Fudge in with Chocolate Ice Cream) crafting personalized works of art before being served. When we finally received the final product and sat down to enjoy their ice-cream creations, it was one of the creamiest ice-cream that I have ever tasted. Later I found out that Cold Stone's ice cream is made on the premises every day, and is categorized as "super premium" by industry standards--meaning it contains 12% to 14% butterfat, which gives it a uniquely creamy texture that sets it apart. We enjoyed eating our ice-creams at one of their round tables with comfortable chairs in their relaxing environment. In front of us was a large freezer display case featuring Cold Stone Ice Cream Cakes. I imagined how good they must be. Before we Left I downloaded the Cold Stone app and joined the My Cold Stone Club Rewards. At home I sent them a copy of my receipt and they were able to credit points to my account for this visit. So I was able to experience for myself that even their Corporate Office is very efficient and Customer Service oriented.
