A great selection of other items to purchase fill other display cases.

I've tried many kinds of donuts before, but there is none compared to a freshly made Krispy Kreme donut. Who would ever guess that they were first introduced in July of 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Their popularity for years has been not only for their taste and variety but also for their store experience. Their visionary concept of the "Doughnut Theater," which transformed the act of purchasing doughnuts into a captivating spectacle. Their philosophy has been to make the most awesome Donuts on the planet every single day. Its slogan, "Be Happy, Be Hungry," reflects the company's commitment to provide delightful treats that evoke happiness and satisfy cravings. They introduced the Original Glazed Doughnut and the ionic neon sign that proclaimed "Hot Doughnuts Now." This store is a perfect example of the Krispy Kreme brand. When I arrive at this store and look through their window, I'm captivated by watching the donuts being made. Yet as I enter the place, its cleanliness is impeccable, and the Donuts are neatly arranged inside their display cases. The employees always greet me with a smile and a desire to be helpful and caring in serving my order. Today, I went in to pick up a free box of 3 donuts offered through their app for being my birthday, and no matter how many donuts I am purchasing, they always treat me with the same care. The lady who served me got the box and carefully selected the 3 Donuts and placed them in the box. I scanned my app with the offer and was ready to go. As I was leaving, I couldn't help but look at all the amazing variety of donuts being exhibited inside the glass display, and look forward to my next visit. I highly recommend this place to all of you who, like me, enjoy the taste of an amazing donut served by wonderful employees with excellent customer service.

Wow! A haiku about my Krispy Kreme experience: Oh to be Krispy. Hot, fresh, glorious doughnuts. Melting in my mouth.

Krispy Kreme - Roanoke Virginia. Trash.

I have grown up loving Krispy Kreme doughnuts and this place is a massive disappointment. The two (2) donuts I just paid over $4.50 for we're at least 2 to 3 days old. The icing on the inside and the outside had already started separating and breaking down. The pastry was old and stale. When I approached the sales associate about the condition of the donuts he was adamant they were prepared just this morning. I threw them in the trash. Terrible.

4 glazed, 2 snowmen. Snowman on left looks EVIL.

When this new store opened in Roanoke, after the one on Melrose had to close due to fire, Roanokers lost their ever-loving minds. It's a doughnut. They are not laced with gold or served by a shirtless George Clooney. But they are good doughnuts. When they opened, they had freaking police directing traffic there because it was such a mess. But I went around 1 on a Tuesday, no problem. Drove right up. The 6 doughnuts I got (4 glazed, 2 snowmen) were a little over $6.00. For an extra $1.50-ish I could have gotten a whole dozen, but that would mean I'd have to eat a whole dozen, and nope.

After having been selected as number 4 of the Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at the Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Corbin's Confections, in Salem, Virginia is the perfect example. I don't know you but to me, I love sweet treats and bakery items. A dinner is not complete if I don't have a sweet dessert. Yet we have people with food allergies that can't afford this luxury. Corbin's Confections was born out of the motherly love of a mother for her son, Corbin, who is anaphylactic to peanuts and all tree-nuts. She wanted to create a bakery that her son and other's with similar allergies, can experience the joy of eating baked goods without having to worry that something would happen to them, because of some ingredient that the food contained. Her mission was "To provide a place where anyone with gluten, peanut, or tree-nut allergies can get tasty treats." Today, I had the opportunity to visit this bakery and meet with Shana, the owner of this women-owned business. She was so friendly and welcoming and realized the service she was providing the community was a very special one. She told me that all bakery items there were gluten free, peanut free, and tree-nut free. It is also mentioned on the store window, right under the name of the bakery. Even though it was almost closing time, she still had some delicious and safe treat on display in the display cases, like cupcakes, donuts, and other savory items. We were interrupted by a customer who wanted to find out information about placing an large order for a gathering of some sort. Listening in was how I found out that she also provides custom options for special occasions and dietary needs, She also provides custom options for special occasions and dietary needs, including lactose intolerance. I thought to myself, how in the past some kids with food allergies might not want to attend birthday parties of their friends in order not to embarrassed by being the one one who didn't have a piece of the birthday cake. Well now, if the parents are aware that their sons and daughters have friends with food allergies, they can have the cake and other sweet treats made here, and that way, everyone can enjoy the party without any concern. Definitely see how this business can provide better quality of life to many in our community and therefore give it my total support and urge you to do the same.

Very moist and full of flavor! They were pretty small for the price, though. The shop was cute and welcoming. Something I thought was a little odd. They had a sign on the wall, basically stating what they did and did not serve. But the manner it was written seemed a little rude and unprofessional, in my opinion. Definitely would come back in the future to sample the other delicious looking confections!

Owned and operated by Sue and Vivian, two lovely and very talented ladies with wonderful personalities, it is located inside of the Antiques & Collectibles Shop "Buy The Season," in Salem, Virginia. I arrived around lunch time in my pearl white Lexus and was able to quickly find a parking space in one of the spaces in front of the extremely large Antiques, Collectibles, Gift, Home Decor, and Furniture Shop. And if this wasn't enough, we can also include "Café." The Café is located in the right corner of the building with its own windows with homemade, red, checkered curtains, and vinyl banner that reads: "Apperson Café / Hot Dogs * Baked Goods." There is also another sign that reads: "Lunch Specials." As I entered through the main front door of the building, I received a friendly greeting from the people running the Antiques Shop. Then as I walked towards the Café the ambiance began to feel warm and cozy, just like those one-of-a-kind, local cafés. I was very impressed by all the homemade menu signs they had up and with one in particular that read: "Happiness is Homemade." The long, glass display case, was full of all kinds of homemade cookies and other desserts. They had sourdough bread loaves made by a group of Mennonites. And basically they had an American home-style cuisine menu, spearheaded by Special Hot Dogs, with other items such as BBQ Pork, Chili, Grilled Cheese, Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad, and homemade soup, among other things. Something very popular are their homemade donuts made from a special recipe given to them by a Mennonite friend. They make these Fridays and Saturdays only, and they are so popular that they always sell out early. I ordered a Chili Hot Dog combo with a glass of homemade lemonade, and chips. The Hot Dog came with toasted buns and were very wide and firm. One of the best Hot Dogs that I have ever tasted. The Hot Dog provider happened to be there at the moment, but they didn't want to reveal the brand name of the Hot Dog, I guess to maintain the exclusivity at their Café. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of their food. Their homemade lemonade was also amazingly delicious and refreshing. They had a station with condiments that you could put on your hot dogs, as well as with macaroni and potato salad. Everything was so good: the cozy ambiance, the hospitable and friendly owners, and the freshly made food, that together made for a delightful dining experience and the desire to want to come back.

My POV: On…read more02/13/2026, I received a text from a number, confirmed to be Hailee Bumgarner's, stating, "Stupid Hoe imagine being fired before you even start". I reported this to HR as retaliation. In the meantime, HR informed me that after more than a week of waiting, Hailee still would not provide proof of the alleged termination. I will also be taking out a personal defamation suit against Hailee, since they company confirmed there is no record of my termination, and Hailee brought it upon herself to contact multiple employers to have me terminated based on false information. This second section is more detailed, and provided a little more background about my experiences. Manager Hailee Bumgamer, has demonstrated extremely unprofessional and inappropriate behavior since my time working at the Dunkin Franchise in Vinton. I don't believe her experience as a barista translate to her ability to effectively manage and run a store. Hailee has shown to ignore many questionable behaviors and hygiene concerns within the store. A more serious issue is the unknown "staff", who aren't actually employed at the store, that she invites to work on her behalf when she doesn't want to come in. This is completely dangerous and inappropriate. We don't know who these people are, and they're not scheduled. Another concerning issue is the behavior of her brother, and her willingness to ignore his behavior. On many instances, nearly daily, the brother in question, Jahmar Brown, is given preferential treatment while maintaining the most customer complaints, and demonstrating poor work ethic. Hailee allows Jahmar to show up extendedly late to work, even hours late, without letting the previous shift know. Making them extend the rest of their shift to cover his. He's also allowed to not show up to work without telling anyone, and which Hailee will send one of her strange accomplices to fill in for him. On many occasions, Jahmar has made myself along with other staff members and customers feel extremely uncomfortable due to him pressuring us to answer him and Hailee's strange incest drama. For hours of the shift he will go on, and even become upset, if you mention the fact that he's in an incestuous relationship. Even though he basically forces you to listen and answer his questions. He then reports you to Hailee based on your answer. Hailee will blame you for his shortcomings, despite the entire store being covered in cameras. On one instance, she blamed us getting out late on me. Despite him arriving over 40 minutes late to his shift, unannounced. Additionally, she makes him count the drawers, despite not having a high school diploma, making it significantly harder for him to count basic change. A simple 5-10 task takes him nearly triple the amount of time, even with a calculator. When I brought this up to Hailee, along with my 4 years as a Starbucks manager, during which I handle cash deposits, safe withdrawals/deposits, and handled the registers, she told me I had an "attitude", and was trying to "hold him back". Even though according to her own statements, she claims he's very advance and knows how to perform all operations. I disproved this to her in-person, mentioning the fact that he didn't know we serve hot tea after several months of working at the store. She nor he knew what a common coffee drink known as a "redeye", was, and that was after this drink was specifically requested by a customer. When myself and other employees bring Jahmar's consistently poor behavior up to her, she claims "she'll talk to him", to no avail. He'll abandon his shifts, and or come incredibly late, and still be scheduled more hours than people who have worked there longer than him, and who have better work ethic than him. When I went to reported the most recent behavior to Hailee, she verbatim told me she "didn't want to hear about it!". When I asked for her manager's number , she claimed she wasn't able to give it out, or the number to customer service. Then changed her mind and said she would give me the customer service number, and instead ignored my texts and took me off the schedule for 2 weeks. Hopefully they can explain this to a judge, because a manager sending threatening texts from their own number? Not very bright. :/

Im not sure if it's common to hire addicts, but a s a health care provider, it's beyond concerning to go in for a cup of coffee, to be greeted by a folded over, barely cognizant "staff". Couldn't even ring up my order. Just sad.
