Stopped in as I needed a place to work for a few hours. This was my first Dunn bros experience. I got the Caramel hazelnut latte (hot) and it was delicious! One of the better hazelnut lattes I've had! Surprisingly wasn't too milky. Also got the croissant sandwich. Signs say eggs made fresh, but I wasn't super impressed. I ended up taking a lot of the egg off, but the croissant and ham was delicious! Found a corner to work, slightly louder than I'm used to for a coffee shop, but it worked out! Always enjoy coming here. Just recently I actually stepped inside for once (typically use drive-thru... which can be a life-saver!) and I thought to myself why haven't I been in here before? Wonderful location and company! I have been going to this location for years, and have never had a bad experience. The coffee, pastries and atmosphere are all top notch. The one time I did have a problem with a change to how their blueberry muffin was cooked, their corporate representative was able to listen to my concerns and rectify the situation to my satisfaction. read more

The ambiance and setting are lovely with a cozy sitting area and great lighting. That being said, I wish they would put as much or more money into the coffee they brew and serve. But now that a medium brewed coffee is $3.40 (and was $2 just 2 yrs ago) it's only become more disappointing to hope for the best yet still walk away with a terribly weak and tasteless mug-full of brown water. I do like coffee, hmmm I guess I like beer too and hell yes to a glass of wine to unwind. All in one place you say, count me in! I do like Dunn Brothers overall for their coffee and service but I do have to say this location stands out for many reasons. I am out here often for my daughters swim practices and it sucks having to find a place to hangout for 2 hrs 3-4 days a week but this helps. This is a fairly new location or at least remodeled location. The service here is great despite the young staff (all that I mean by that is often youth and good service don't always fit together well). This is a rare location that has beer, wine and coffee. They have a great Happy Hour from 4-6pm where they offer $2 off wine and beer. They don't have a huge selection of beers but they have 7 taps with a nice selection. They have 4 or 5 wines and pay attention to those as well. I would have to say this is a very well run location and deserves the business they get! KT read more

I went here with my brother today. The atmosphere and feel of the coffee shop was really wonderful, I really like the space. There's a lot of outlets and table to do your work (and free WiFi). My two biggest problems are parking and the taste of the coffee. There's NEVER any parking and when I walk inside, it's half empty. I'm always confused how in the world the lot is full and yet the coffee shop only has like 10 people... like what??? The second problem is the overall taste of the coffee. I've tried around 4-5 different drinks here including various kinds of lattes and mochas. I've only liked two of them and the other ones were bland and tasteless. So I guess they are only good at making certain kinds of coffee and other kinds you should just stay away from (anything with pumpkin or chai tea.. just don't!). They also have some food items and while I have not ordered anything personally, the times I have come here my friends/ brother have enjoyed their sandwiches/ pizzas. read more

The coffee here is alright. I usually order a double espresso and add my own cream at the bar. The quality of the coffee is steady. I have noticed that every time I go through the drive-thru, I have a wonderful experience. The baristas are kind, attentive, and talk to me as if they genuinely care about my day. However, every time I have gone inside to sit down and finish some work, I have had the opposite interaction. The ladies at the register can be quite rude and unattentive. Very rarely do they smile...which is unfortunate. Thus, my humble advice would be to wait in line to encounter the smiling baristas at the drive-thru. read more

This Dunn Bros Coffee is incubating some new food and beverage offerings as a pilot launch for the rest of the Dunn Bros Coffee company; I therefore think it is important to give the management of this location your feedback both about what you like and what you see could be improved upon, particularly in the areas of process (ex: expanded food choices served with espresso drinks in a drive thru order scenario) and technology (ex: the radio system for the drive thru). I love that the Baristas are starting to remember my "usual" and that they start preparing it as soon as I walk in. I also recommended to the management that they continue to upgrade their staff and bring in more experienced baristas and kitchen help. Overall, this is a great place to get your daily cup and it is becoming a main stay of the community here in Saint Michael, MN. read more

Every order has been wrong. No flavor. Extremely bitter. I asked them to redo one drink but it was still wrong. I honestly believe the owner is doing this on purpose. They are charging way too much for what you get. The fireplace is a nice touch, I guess. And yes, they do fix any problems. This shouldn't have to happen with every order. read more

Coffee tastes burnt, although that seems to be the flavor of most Dunn Bros. coffees. Service is slow and the staff seemed to place drive-thru orders above everything else. Food orders also appear to slow things down considerably. While I wasn't impressed by the coffee, the place had a great atmosphere, had plenty of seating, and appeared to be quite clean. 6 trips, and not a correct order yet! I was excited to see that Dunn Bros. was opening in St Michael since it would be the first convenient location to offer good coffee on my way out of town every morning. Even more excited when I realized I could pay through my Dunn Bros. app and get rewards for every purchase. It is convenient, it looks great and seems to have been planned out very well. In a word, service has been horrendous. I have been involved in the opening of restaurants in the past so I am always willing to give places the benefit of the doubt when they are new. I have come to expect, as I have seen in other franchise systems, that during the first couple of weeks some outside help is given to new franchise locations to help get people trained and ready. I have made six trips to this location and have either waiting an extended time for simple drinks or received items that were not as ordered on every occasion. This is not luck of the draw, or perception when they can't get it right in almost three weeks of being open.I waited 25 minutes with my 5 year on a Sunday, for a latte, a regular coffee, and a hot cocoa. I could have practically purchased the supplies, been home, and made those items in that time. I certainly could have asked for my money back driven to Caribou in Albertville and received those items in the same time. I am tired of expressing my disappointment with my feet. I like the Dunn Bros. products much better. Please get this right, and soon. This morning, at 6:30 I had to wait for a regular dark roast coffee , that I ordered with extra cream and splenda, to be brewed. If you can't foresee needing more dark roast an hour into your day your COFFEE shop is having problems. In the end, my oatmeal was tasteless, my coffee had drops of cream in it at best, and I sat with cars building up behind me in line. OK so update, tried twice since my first review, I will wait to eat until the kinks are ironed out. Its not the food but staff which will get better with time. Suggestions: if I'm in the drive thru and you put my food bag ready to hand to me but give it to someone inside because you screwed up the order then I have to wait...not cool. Also don't serve up my soup until my sandwich is done. Soup gets cold and its sitting in the way...all about timing. I would also suggest use names when taking and calling orders. Dunn Brothers is the best coffee shop in Saint Michael/Albertville area. It is one of my favorites in the Twin Cities metro/surrounding suburbs as well. You can go there to drink wine in a more quiet environment than a bar or restaurant, or drink a caffeinated beverage while working on your laptop. The staff are great, and I've never had a negative experience. Dunn Brother's in Saint Michael brews their own nitro coffee, which is unique to this particular location. It has three times the caffeine for almost same price as regular coffee. Also, the pizza is great! Thin slices. read more

I come here regularly and go through the drive through, almost everytime I order my drink the lady is already telling me my total when I have more things I want to add. Love this place. In my opinion it is definitely a big step above the other various Dunn Bros. metro locations I've been to and the quality of the food is WAY WAY WAY better than Starbucks or Caribou (both of which I admittedly think are poor). All the food and bakery goods we have tried have been delicious and the staff are courteous and helpful. We are often in the area and stop in frequently for a full meal, just a snack, or just beverages. We've had a good experience every time. So lucky this place is in the area! read more

For the first two weeks they were open it was awful. Every time I went in my drink tasted different and I had to wait 5 to 10 minutes. We also tried a breakfast sandwich (bacon) and it was very blah. The bacon was paper thin and I couldn't even taste it. Despite the issues the owner was very nice and apologized each time and offered things from the bakery. After a few weeks they finally had consistency with my drink. Now I go almost every day and it's perfect. As with any new business they'll have to work out their kinks.
