I did have a few issues with the service. Her obituary had two misspellings that I had to call about (She even wrote some of it) so I know she wouldn't misspell her maiden name or my name. Confusion in the posting of visitation and service which I think are one in the same. Visitation 4-6 Service 5-TBD was posted. Family was told 4-8 some family weren't able to come pay their respects and we were told at 6:45 the service had ended. Some of us were confused and that we were rushed out. When you are grieving confusion isn't something anyone wants to deal with.

Being the planner that I am - I had gone to O'Brien previously to check out the facility and start pricing out items and found them to be the best of those that I visited. Burying a loved one is never easy and I was not looking for the place where I could only get the most "bang for my buck". I was looking for a place that would take the same care and love of my mom that she took of me while I was growing up and I felt she deserved after her passing. I worked closely with Paige, the funeral director, who although she looks young - took the time and consideration to go over all the details with my brother and I multiple times and answer our countless questions. When planning a wake and funeral - it is a mad dash to put it mildly - you are grieving but there are all these moving parts that have to be put in place in a short period of time. We were luck to have Paige, and the entire staff of O'Brien Funeral Home with us during the entire process. They helped tailor the wake to truly honor her and make the day of the funeral as seamless as possible - snow and all.

Any issues that may arise, i.e. schedule changes, etc., are all handled the same way. As Andrea will say "not a problem", or "we'll take care of that". Making the call was incredibly difficult, but the person I spoke with helped ease some of that burden. At no point during that call did I feel rushed or that my feelings were disregarded. When Kevin and Dr. Maura arrived, they showed the same kindness and compassion. They walked us through the entire process and allowed us some final, meaningful time with our fur baby before we began. They will display photos on poster boards, or digitally with slide shows. Their staff will greet you appropriately in the parking lot, or at the door, with umbrellas in the rain. They are kind and respectful. I have been to this funeral home to pay my respects to others, and also as a customer for a loved one. They went above and beyond for my family during a time unexpected loss, and I can't ever thank them enough.

It was the second month of the pandemic- April of 2020. I had previously made several calls to different funeral homes asking for my father to be picked up from the hospital and buried. No one was offering this service. It was all about cremation at this time, due to the pandemic. I found John Crawford who was a lifesaver during such a terrible time. He was able to bury my father who had died from covid, which was my fathers ultimate dying wish. John came through for me when no one else did, and he didn't ask me for a dime upfront. He told me not to worry about it, and he trusted me and in this day and age its so difficult for anyone to have trust. I was unable to attend the funeral, but he promised me he would say a prayer for my father and sent me pics of the casket as it was being lowered into the gravesite. I'll never forget John.
