360 degree

It's not the most incredible park, but it's a level patch of green looking out to the "beach" and a nice alternative to the urban bench areas. Even websites refer to the "beach" with quotation marks. The "beach" is actually a strip of sand with the square footage of a single-car garage, with a single-entry point, but it's kind of ghetto-charming. For a recreational park with a lawn, the only shade is basically coming from the one-star reviews. I reckon the locals wake up early to grab one of the three or so remaining trees. There's also a white gazebo (which can be rented* from $26-58) for photo ops. Not bad for a small parcel of land at the southern edge of the WW2 Marinship Shipyard that, until the 60s, was used informally as the town dump, where people would meet and socialize as the rummaged for goodies. By 1970, residents raised about 600K to keep the city from using the newly cleaned-up land for apartments. Please check my photos for a 360 degree view. Best of all it has a sand volleyball court and bocce courts, both rentable* for $16 (Non-profit), $26 (Resident), $37 (Non-Resident), and $47 (Commercial). *rentals suspended during Covid-19 (or Covid-29 for non-residents).

Just moved to Sausalito a few months ago and was delighted by this small park off bridgeway. We've met up with friends here, launched our kayaks and paddle boards from the small beach and our pup meets all sorts of cute furry friends here. There's a tent encampment that's popped up but it's so clean in comparison to the ones we're used to in Oakland and SF that we hardly notice, nor does it feel unsafe or disruptive. I took off one star for the broken glass that either washes up from sea or is left on the rocky part of the beach. If you are into water sports, make sure to check the tides. When it's low tide the sand becomes sticky mud, making it hard to walk in/out. Overall a beautiful park with other activities built in like bocce courts and volleyball! (There is also a very clean touchless restroom).

Nice park, kinda small but it gets the job done for a picnic, nap or hanging out with friends. The views are quite beautiful as well!

Marin Headlands is one of the best regional parks in Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA)…read more It is one of the best places to not only hike but to take pictures. This is also great for photographers. Pretty much the hills, grass, trails, rocks, and trails are amazing! This is also a great place for photographers. There are other places like those Battery ones and Hill 88, but my friend and I didn't really get a chance to go there since we pretty much missed the path and we didn't want to turn around. Honestly, it's really hot here and thank goodness that I bring water and snacks in case I'm thirsty or hungry. Most importantly, bring water! You'll need it if you're ever going to hike here. The trip is short in my opinion since I'm used to hiking for a long time. In the future, I am planning to come back here to revisit scenic spots that we missed. The hike might be longer since I enjoy hiking at regional parks.

Absolutely stunning. The Marin Headlands offer some of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge,…read morethe Pacific Ocean, and San Francisco. The hiking trails are beautiful and well worth exploring, whether you're going for a short walk or a longer hike. It's peaceful, scenic, and feels like a total escape from the city even though it's so close. Bring a camera -- every overlook feels postcard-worthy. A must-visit if you're in the Bay Area. Magical!
