The Board of Trustees at Good Samaritan need to address the elder abuse that is occurring at their hospital with the level of incompetence in the following individuals: Anas Lababidi -He added medication to the patients nebulizer which settles on the vocal cords, he knew the patient would not be able to speak afterwards. None of this was shared with the patient or family. The pain and suffering the patient went through afterwards was unbearable. The patient could not speak or communicate and cried in frustration and sadness. Lababidi knowingly silenced the dying patient and is a perpetrator of elder abuse. Roberto Viau Colindres -Horrifyingly inhuman -This "doctor" tells the patient they will die, directly to their face. -When asked a clarifying question he said "I'm not going to repeat myself" and walks out of the room. -his manner is sickening and patients and family are scared when he enters the room Basil Hernandez There is a saying in the medical community that Hospitalists are the bottom of the barrel and lowest on the hierarchy. Basil proves this point exactly. -He marked our loved one as incapacitated when the patient was talking and requesting things. His colleague showed me this notation on the computer screen. -He walks out of the room as you are asking questions trying to learn about your loved ones condition. -We had to beg him to use his stethoscope in his maximum 30 second visits to the patient where he did nothing. Maddelena (Maddie) Deneaufbourg -Aggressive and pushy, she is supposed to be there for a patients family to offer palliative care. Even her coworkers had to stop her from harassing my family. She preys on people when they are at their lowest. -She walks into the patients room unannounced and touches your loved one without permission -When you ask her to please leave you alone she does not.

I eventually had to specifically ask a staff member to clean the blood off my finger and my hand. Neglect of Pain Management: I was never brought any form of pain medication during the entire visit after asking for it. When asked about this, I was told that maybe it would be brought to me when I was discharged. Failure to Provide Basic Comfort: I was forced to ask for an ice pack to manage the swelling and pain, which was not proactively offered by the nursing or medical staff. I then had to ask for another ice pack after the first one was no longer cold. Absolutely horrible, horrible, horrible experience. Do not go here for any emergency services!

My dental insurance was lousy and a dentist I had recently seen was lousy, too. So, I decided to give MWU a shot... Since I was in a good deal of pain, I was relieved to get an appointment the next morning. Driving into the Clinic complex, I was pleased to find a covered parking garage with plenty of space. A very short walk into the building takes you inside a lovely, spacious, waiting area with lots of office staff to handle registration. (On subsequent visits, I have used the 'sign-in kiosks'.) Within a couple minutes, my student dentist found me in the waiting room and accompanied me up to the dental suites. By this time my anxiety level was high! After all, I was in pain and now I was going to allow a student to poke around in my mouth? Had I lost my mind??? I short order, however, my student dentist had taken a comprehensive history and was ready to begin examining my mouth - the moment of truth - was this guy going to make me gasp in pain or be gentle? The apprehension was so unnecessary! I wasn't hurt once! Hurrah! At this dental clinic, you are assigned to a group of four student dentists, as I understand it. My future dentists are Kyle, Lion (sp?), Jordan, and, Tina. Each one is gentle, thorough, and professional. In addition, they are all extremely personable! I've had several appointments over the past several weeks. At each step during my procedures, a DMD/DDS checks the work of a student. These licensed dentists are, without exception, personable with me and give detailed feedback and suggestions to the students. If you are a Type A personality, you may find the pace of the treatments does not suit you... The students are in the process of perfecting their techniques, and, they are learning how to speed up the work they do and still perform each procedure with skill: the pace is slow in comparison to a "normal" dental office. I'd like to give special recognition to Kyle, the first student dentist to work on my teeth. His skill doing procedures, and his concern with my comfort, made me confident that I could trust the care that would be given to me on future visits. Lion, Jordan, and Tina have cemented that trust. The bottom line is that Midwestern University is my place for dentistry from now on.

I was sitting in on the visit and heard and saw everything. My mom told her that she had frequent urination, bloated and burning and she laughed at my mom and said that's not unusual as you get older and you don't have a UTI! I had to take my mom to another doctor at Loyola who "listened" to her and didn't laugh and ran a urinalysis and got it cultured to confirm she had a UTI. UTI can be serious and can lead to sepsis. I don't understand the lack of compassion with this doctor. What does it take to order a urinalysis? This is such a routine test that it should have been ordered immediately without questions and without her laughing. My mom felt horrible but I also felt horrible for my mother. WTF I can't believe this behavior came from a doctor.
