Very disappointed with my first time going here. Asked for a brow threading and tint, and didn't even get the tint because I was so disappointed, on how the threading was. I asked her to keep my brows full and thick as possible, even showed her a photo reference, and the exact opposite was done. She did not speak English at all and the person who did speak English clearly did not care to inform her of what I was saying. I expressed that I did not like how they looked, and that they were entirely too thinand not what I wanted, and they both just looked at me and did not say a word, then started speaking in their native language which I felt was very inconsiderate. Great price & quality to match! They have several locations so I chose the one closest to me, in the Capitol Hill area. The salon is located in a small upstairs suite - easy to miss if you don't pay attention to the names on the storefront. It was clean with a waiting area and about 3 chairs in the salon. They accept walk ins (no appt for threading) and there was only 1 person in front of me. $14 for eyebrow threading - they must use a different type of yarn because the pain was a lot less than what I've experienced with other salons. I've been here a few times for eyebrow threading, always quick, always nice, never any issues. The shop is upstairs, small waiting area, never waited more than 10 mins to be seen. Even when I've asked them to shape a certain way, or if it's to my liking they have made adjustments. Definitely recommend going! read more

I asked the threader to use HAND SANITIZER before touching my face because she had just finished someone else.. she got an attitude and went back and forth with me before doing it but continued to complain during the service. I only get my eyebrows here. It's usually not that busy. I get mine done by Pabitra (she's there Wednesdays and Thursdays) typically, she takes her time and makes my eyebrows neat and even. I also have gotten them done by Sunita she's skilled as well but I think Pabitra knows my shape better. They're friendly when you walk in and doesn't take long to sit down in the chair. Only thing I don't care much for is the parking but it's worth it. I'll park in Pennsylvania ave closer to Seward sq there's usually always a spot there on weekdays. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I used to love this place but my last two visits by two separate people was terrible. The first visit she cut a chunk out of my eyebrow then said I came like that. This time I went a new person gave me two different eyebrows. One that was square and boxy and the other curved. She continued to tell me they were the same even though it was obvious they weren't. I then spent ten minutes directing her to fix what she did to some how make them even. I recommend hitting it around lunchtime on a week day so you're not waiting too long, but Saturday mornings aren't that bad either. Went for a waxing and the wax room door does not close all of the way, and there was no air conditioning in the room. In addition to the wax strip rips which were numbing, the high temperature during the DC heat wave and door cracked open... the price made this trip worth it for a one time emergency wax. I would not return if the temperatures are high in DC. I would however recommend threading- I visited a week prior for an eyebrow threading and they took me immediately, were skilled in the shaping and trim. I went home to cleanup the strays- they don't tweeze. The price was right if you are looking for a shaping. There is a fan in the room to help circulate the hot air. I'm torn. I've had good experiences at DuPont Threading, but I just left from a terrible one. Gauri at the Capitol Hill location had a near perfect slate to begin with. I have been growing my eyebrows out for months for this moment- my 5 year anniversary photo shoot is tonight. I am leaving with uneven/thin eyebrows, no apology, and a full-price bill. I told her I was not happy and pointed out the differences. She acknowledged she made my eyebrows uneven, but offered no solution. In an effort to preserve what remains of my brows, i did not press her to fix them. At this point, I do not trust her. 2 stars because you can have a good experience if you go to the right eyebrow technician, but unfortunately today's experience was so poor, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I have been to DuPont Threading to get my brows done and was very satisfied with my experience. A friend of mine knew I was in search of a new esthetician since mine recently relocated. I had Nitasha do my eyebrows and wax based on my friend's recommendation. I wish I had good thing to report about the wax experience. I asked for and underarm and Brazilian wax. I entered the room and found clean liner on the bed and a new wax stick which comforted me. She then started to wax me without gloves. I was taken aback when she double dipped the stick while waxing my under arms but i figured there were two separate wax containers and maybe she would use the other container for my Brazilian along with another stick. I was very shocked to say she didn't. She used the SAME stick and wax for my entire waxing session (under arms and Brazilian). She used one cloth for my Brazilian and it kind of freaked me out. As soon as the wax was finished, I went and washed my hands and she went on with her day. She used hand sanitizer but that's not enough! I got home to see some stray hairs in certain areas. Although she was very fast and very confident in her work, I wish she would have been a little more detailed with the stray hairs. The lack of sanitation is inexcusable. The next day, I called and emailed looking to complain. It has been over a week and I have yet to hear back from them. If you don't mind someone waxing you with NO regards to sanitation or if you want someone doing your brows after they have done a Brazilian and simply used hand sanitizer, this is the place for you. read more

I prefer to get my threading done regularly, so when covid hit I was left to fend for myself (and it was a hot mess). As businesses began opening up I was super nervous about going to get threading done, considering the esthetician gets up in your face. That being said, I was very impressed with the safety measures the DuPont Threading team has put in place. Once predominantly a walk-in business, now you have to book an appointment (which means it's one client in the space at a time). They're wearing masks & gloves during the entire process and switching them out between appointments. The chair was sanitized before I sat down and I noticed that when the thread broke (as sometimes it does) the esthetician turned away from me to get herself situated before approaching my face again.
