    Croque madame and Salmon dish

Food was delicious. Although it is located across from Monorail and next to subway entrance, it is quiet and relaxing. It is not customary to leave a tip and have not encountered any other establishment requesting a tip to be added. The waiter requested a tip which I can only assume is due to us being American?? 5 stars, but disappointed at the last interaction.

Came here twice out of convenience. It's across the street from the Paris expo. The servers are quite friendly and converse with you in English. Once for breakfast- we had espressos and shared a Nutella crepe. Unfortunately, if there can be such a thing.. this crepe had a bit too much Nutella and the crepe was too gummy. I was so turned off by this crepe, I couldn't fathom trying any other crepe during my stay in Paris. Boo hoo.. Once for dinner- My first time escargot experience was here! I am an escargot believer now. They were favorful and oh so juicy! I soaked up the remaining sauce with the bread and it was soooo delicious! I also tried the beef tartare. It was okay, but nothing special. Tasted bland though the portion was huge. The prices are a bit high for what you get but I'd come back for the yummy escargot. :)

Our bill was €79 / $97 for an app, 1 drink, two dinners, and two desserts. Tip is included in the price. EXCELLENT service. We ordered the escargot, aperol Spritz drink, duck confit, butcher's cut and for dessert, the creme brûlée and the chocolate lava cake.

The escargot was delicious, especially for a 1st timer... I wish the service was as good. I had to wait a long time for someone to take my order and even longer to get a glass of water (there were 2 people and they brought 1 glass). The service did not make me feel comfortable enough to stay for dinner but, I enjoyed the entree (appetizer for my American friends). The place was full of people so I know the food was tasty but, when I am out I like good service.

Eating at the center of Paris can be a bit of a nightmare. You will fork over the big bucks (or in this case euros). I remember being at the Avenue de l'Opera and looking over the outside menus for various restaurants only to see ridiculously high prices for everything including water. In comes Dupont Café to the rescue. It was a good walking distance from our hotel at the Port du Versailles. I ordered a steak (well done) with rice. The waiter was super nice. My mother spoke to him in her native Spanish and broken English and got her point across. He understood us or tried to and it showed. My steak was pretty good but the texture of the rice was weird. It didn't taste like anything. I also ordered dessert. A chocolate tart. It was AMAZING. But the portion is super tiny.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

We loved watching Chef Hugo cooking. Plus, what he prepared was delicious! We started with the ravioli appetizer we see so often recommended. Excellent! Dinners were a beef dish and a chicken dish. Both were amazing! In addition, dessert featuring a pear mouse was wonderful! Prices are for the good and wines were very fair. As you can guess, we highly recommend La Cordonnerie!

There are two tables essentially in the kitchen (a true "Chef's Table" arrangement) and maybe 6 tables in the adjoining room. We were welcomed warmly. Deborah was the hostess and server. Chef Hugo is visible in the kitchen, working very hard to make everything just perfect. They brought bread immediately (my husband loved the sliced baguette--it was perfect and chewy as it should be, but not hard). We ordered a bottle of wine, a Macon Villages, which was perfect. I had the cucumber salad appetizer, which was so fresh. My husband ordered the ravioli appetizer--tiny little rectangles in a scrumptious sauce--a work of art. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. The sauce was amazing and it was a huge portion of tender white fish. My husband had the lamb with frites. It was nicely seasoned & perfectly done. For dessert, my husband enjoyed a chocolate treat and I had refreshing raspberry sorbet. Deborah was so friendly and solicitous throughout the meal. I have never felt so well taken care of. (I have seen some comments from people who are unhappy that they can't just walk in. They don't appear to understand that there is only one seating. People arrive when they do and they linger. Empty tables seen from the street do not mean the place is not fully booked. Make a reservation well ahead of time. It is worth it!)

We were seated at a table facing the smaller street with IKEA City. Not much people-watching happened given shops were already closed in the evening and thus less people shopping on the streets. We ordered the croque monsieur and croque madame. The difference between the two is that the croque madame comes with a fried sunny side up egg. This was heavy but so yummy! The egg yolk makes a great sauce to soak up this cheesy and hammy toast. This came with a salad on the side which had a vinegar based dressing coated on it. The only thing is we had miscommunication with the waitress about drinks. We asked for water (l'eau) but they gave us distilled water in a bottle which costed us 8 euros. I learned it's important to learn to specifically ask for carafe d'eau (tap water in French) to get free water! Felt a bit bad that we were overcharged. Just gotta be careful with communicating next time. All in all, I enjoyed trying the amazing sandwich that is a croque madame. Wanted to give 4 stars for the food but the bottled water still irks me.
