This company is a complete rip-off!! My Trendmaker home came with a DuPure 2-stage water filter under the kitchen sink. I called and was told the replacement filters were $135 from DuPure. After doing further research, it turns out DuPure does not even manufacture the filters themselves. A company by the name of Omnipure makes the filters for DuPure and puts the DuPure name on the product. Further, Omnipure makes a proprietary valve head for DuPure to force you to get the replacement filters from DuPure. After researching, I learned that the same filters are available online in the Omnipure Q Series line of filters. Just do a Google search. You first need to convert your Dupure valve heads to Omnipure Q valve heads (Part VH14-JG). A two-stage filter will need 2 valve heads. I purchased the Omnipure valve heads for $25 each on Amazon. I also found the replacement filters on Amazon. I used the Omnipure Q5405 for the prefilter and Omnipure Q5415 for the second stage. I just removed the metal bracket from the wall, disconnected the tubing, loosened the screws, and switched out the heads. Just add the new valve heads to the existing metal bracket. Then, instead of paying DuPure $135 for replacement filters, you can pay Amazon $36 to switch out your filters. read more

DO NOT BUY DUPURE WATER SOFTENER!!! This company does not deserve even a star since their water softener equipment has already caused mineral build up on our shower heads and faucets. We've been having problems with the water softener system right after it was installed by Dupure International. The drinking water stops flowing and we constantly have to contact Dupure Intl for service.They kept on replacing the reverse osmosis filters under the sink but after a month or so they would get clogged again because the system couldn't soften the water properly and the water which was still containing unwanted minerals was coming through the pipes and therefore it was clogging the reverse osmosis membrane and the other two filters over and over again. At one time we even had some bacteria in the pipes going to the water softener unit as I was told by the company's manager who came to my house, this made the drinking water have a metallic taste so he told me to bypass the unit until the bacteria was washed off. At another time one of their technicians came and replaced the reverse osmosis filters and after a few hours after he left which was on a Friday, one of the filters leaked over night and when we came to the kitchen in the morning on Saturday the whole floor was covered by water, we called them immediately and finally another technician came on Monday and replaced the defective filter, that same technician told me that the DuPure products including the filters didn't have a good quality. All the faucets in our three bathrooms have mineral buildups and one of these had already been replaced. We had an experience with another water softener company called Culligan Water Softener for more than 15 years and their water softener was problem free and we even brought the units when we moved to two different homes in California. Unfortunately, I couldn't find this company in Texas when I wanted the water softener. Dupure has recommended for us to get the biggest unit they have but we have to pay another $3000. Basically their equipment does not work properly. They do not respond to our emails and are refusing to remove the system from our house. read more

My new house came with a dupure system. I set up appointment for 8 p.m. They called at 8:45.....45 minutes late and said they would be there in 25 minutes and would need 45 minutes of our time. Now after reading the reviews I'm not going to do business with them. Sounds like they are a rip off company with poor customer service. read more

This is the first time my family has had a water softener. We are all very pleased with the system. Our salesman Mike was great! He did a wonderful job explaining the system to us and ultimately getting us to purchase it. The system is a little pricey but affordable with the monthly payment plan. I also have to say that the dual osmosis filter installed on the kitchen sink is fantastic ! The water has never tasted so good! read more

I am a senior living on a fixed income. My filter for the reverse osmosis were to be changed. Well, everyone i have spoken too tells me I was quoted a price. My first conversation with the representative i was in California and asked for a call back. No mention of cha The second attempt was the same, still in California. The third the representative called an said she was in the area but I was not available. No mention of price. Finally on Nov 8 the rep called stating she was in the area. She came. No mention of price. Told me she'd call the office and they would call for the payment. At 5:00p.m. they called requesting a $298.16 payment. $139.95 of that was for the trip charge. I then requested an invoice which arrived on Saturday Nov 11 dated Sept 27. I called the office because i don't understand why I would be charged the trip charge of such a large amount if the representative is out in the area at other homes. The rep on the phone told me that is how their salaries are paid. What so you mean I'm paying everyone salary. I asked Gloria to speak to her superior. You spoke with Arway (guessing at the spelling) a asked for her superior who's suppose to be Tom Hook, that you can't get any information on. We had a DuPure system installed in our newly constructed home 12 years ago. The softener and the RO system have worked liked a charm. The annual maintenance techs have always been extremely professional, pleasant, efficient and honest. If something is still functioning well and doesn't need replacement yet, they tell us. I purchased a home in Round Rock, TX built in 2012 by Ryand Homes. The home came with a 2 stage under sink filter system. After researching how to replace the filters, they can only be purchased from DuPure. :( Luckily, it's easy enough to replace the valves in order to use generic filters. I have a hard time understanding why custom valves is good for the customer. The reduced options for customers due to vendor lock-in out-weighs any benefit to the customer that I haven't yet fathomed. read more

I had Dupure Evolve Platinum Series installed on 26th Dec 2017. Same day during installation there was water leaked through valve , however technican had tightened the section and stated installation completed. Very next morning entire garage had water flowing around and tried reaching Dupure Customer care.Case was opened around 10am CST and Eric committed Service Manager will call to assure on resolving issue. None contacted and around 1pm followed up on Open case, Eric commented Service Manager is still on look out. However none were in position to understand the water emergency in house. After 3 times calling on the day finally technician arrived around 6pm , he removed valve cleaned up inside and reinstalled same. He left stating if it leaks this part to replace. But after 30 mins again it started leaking and as he suggested reached him directly with no response. At last I have again raised new case today (01/2). While reached Sales Rep he commented these are common in nature and Dupure will address which isn't qualified response. When you buy a home, it can difficult (and overwhelming) to decide what you really do and really don't need. We moved into our first home several years ago and quickly started noticing water spots and hard water deposits on every surface within ten feet of a faucet. Our glass shower doors looked like we were bathing in milk. Everything was clean, but you wouldn't have been able to tell. As a bonus, the water smelled funny and didn't exactly taste like it was fresh from a natural spring. We had heard about Dupure and that their systems made a huge difference in home water quality. Although we were skeptical that it would be as great as we were told, we wanted any improvement we could get. We had the system installed and noticed a huge difference immediately. Our shower doors stayed clear, our counters and plumbing fixtures didn't get water spots, our daughter's long hair was easier to brush out and felt healthier, we used tons less soap and detergent, and our clothes were softer (people who stay with us and use our towels still comment on this all the time). I know it sounds like I'm hamming it up, but it's all really true. We have moved a couple of times since then and have deliberately chosen Dupure with each new home. Dupure's prices are very competitive, and they have proven repeatedly over the years that their service is top quality. We have NEVER had one bad experience with Dupure. I'm sure that any company that has thousands of customers and has been around for this long has had some less than perfect moments that you can read about online. However our experience has been that they have always been professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. We are about to move (yet again!) and will definitely be adding a Dupure system. Their products and service are first rate. read more

Updated as of 11/23/18 UPDATE: Since posting this review, there have been some updates to the situation I should convey. After posting this review, I was miraculously contacted by the Dupure management team - funny how that works. They had little to no concern of my issue in the month prior to me posting this recommendation, but now that it was visible to the public they wanted to move quickly. The customer service team contacted me first. The gentleman I spoke to was only partially informed of the situation, requiring some time on my end to explain to him the timeline and everything that had happened. Once I had explained, he attempted to set up an appointment (finally) to fix the problem. At this point however, as I had previously stated, I had no interest in pursuing any type of relationship with Dupure. I told him I no longer wanted his product, and to schedule an appointment for a rep to come and get their equipment and get it out of my house. He declined, saying that was not something they would be willing to do. He insisted that I allow him to set up an install. I declined again - and told him to have a member of the management team contact me. He was extremely pushy and would not take NO for an answer. I was walking into a meeting and told him as much, but he kept on talking. I hung up. It is important to note that I had requested management to be involved in almost every step of my communications with Dupure. At that point, I still had not spoked to a single person in management. In my experience, any company who goes to such great lengths to shield their management teams from customer service issues is one you should be weary of. This one was no exception. I received another call later that day, offering to set up an install once again, this time with the promise of "free" filters. Once again I explained my situation, and that I had no interest in this product any longer. I explained that if Dupure couldn't be counted on to do a simple install in less than a month, how would I expect anything at all to be done in a reasonable amount of time down the road, if something should happen to the unit? No thanks, I don't need the added headache. An hour later I was contacted by a young lady who was very apologetic. She too was a customer service rep I believe - the management team once again neglecting to take ownership of the issues at hand. She was friendly and positive, which was refreshing since not a single other person I spoke to at that point has been. She informed me that they would be setting up an appointment to retrieve the equipment and refund my money. It took 6 weeks, me making a dozen attempts to remedy the problem, endless frustration and me being left with no other option that to resort to social media for assistance before this would be remedied. Now that they have finally removed the equipment and refunded my money I have been solicited by another Dupure rep to update my review. When I told them that I had no intention of sugar coating my update and that I would post a factual update and conveyance of my experience, he persisted. He assumed that since I got the money I paid for the unit back (6 weeks later) that I would be grateful and leave a cheery update. He even left an insinuation of - and I quote the rep from Dupure - "Refunding your money should be worth something." I made it very clear that I would update accordingly if he wanted me to proceed, or I could leave it as is - but I would leave a frank and honest update. He persisted. Refunding my money was the very least you could do after failing so miserably at upholding your end of the bargain in regards to servicing the RO filter we bought. As I mentioned to the rep on the phone, your company seems to have forgotten that it was built on the backs of the customers who pay good money for your products. Without them, you would not exist. Without them, you fail to flourish. Customers are not a dime a dozen, and each should be treated with a respect and level of service I was not afforded. If I were to give advice to the Dupure Executive Committee and Management teams: Be more transparent. Hiding behind your customer service reps and sending them to do your dirty work is bad look. If just one- ONE - manager took responsibility and action to get this situation fixed early on, we wouldn't be reading this review. So - here you are Dupure. My updated review. You took a bad situation that got progressively worse, that had very few positive notes other than my money finally being refunded, and somehow found a way to cheapen even that. Do not buy DuPure RO systems. The replacement filters are not compatible with any other filters available in Amazon. DuPure Charges $130 for just pre and Post filters and $200 alkaline filters that total $430. This is ridiculous. Brand new RO system is about $200 in Amazon. I did not do any DD before buying the DuPure RO system. Please stay away from Dupure. First time, I felt I was cheated in USA by DuPure. read more

Dupure has turned me into a water "snob"! I entertain a great deal and always get asked about my "crystal-clear" ice cubes. Reverse Osmosis system sells itself. No sales pitch for me----just drink the water, smell your laundry and enjoy the lack if water spots. My counter tops and fixtures are pricey, their water softener has allowed me keep them sparkly and new. After reading the reviews, I would like to say that I would assume that one can find ANYTHING on amazon cheaper. My husband is a hard core researcher of products and DYI products. We also do 75% of our retail purchases with amazon, we choose to stay with Dupure. We have had the system for 5 years with no problems. read more

I did some research before I chose Dupure. There were many bad reviews; however I decided to go with dupure since the builder put the reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink. I called Dupure and they sent Tim out to give me a quote. He was a sweet, nice and pleasant guy to deal with. After discussing with him about the options, we decided to go with the crystallized system. We were happy with the water quality. We did not see any calcium deposit around the faucets. The water tastes good. After 3 years, our system is working great. We only have one minor problem with the reverse osmosis. The filter Dupure sent me was defective. I called Dupure and they sent Tim to my house to check the reverse osmosis. He found out that the filter was defective and he swapped out the filter and it has been working great since then. Tim was very efficient and knowledgeable. I would not want to deal with anyone from Dupure except Tim. Yes I know there are other good technicians in your company, but If I ever have a problem, I would want you to send Tim to my house. Thanks Tim for great service! read more

The company used to provide good service. In San Antonio they no longer service customers on Saturday's and two weekdays. If you want new filters - take a day of paid leave and wait. I wished I would have read customers reviews before dealing with DuPure. My Toll Brothers build chose the DuPure EcoPure salt free water treatment for my house. There's No San Antonio DuPure offices. Their Home office is in Houston & it's impossible to get through to set up and schedule service appointments unless you spend countless days calling again and again to chase them down as they don't return calls until they reach you, they force you to reach them spending hours on the phone, pathetic. There service is absolutely terrible. First Discovered DuPure didn't put a filter in my original install until 5 years later. I've had the system changed out one time in ten years because the service techs they send out are lazy and always say everything's ok yet filters are generally recommended to be changed every year because of bacteria but not DuPure techs. DuPure service just want payments without doing any service and they have absolutely no quality control to double check their pathetic techs who do no thorough service for customers. The last time two years ago, I asked for service, the tech came by & checked the exterior faucet chlorine content while I wasn't home & the tech left and said everything was ok but didn't even come inside my garage to check the EcoPur system. I called their home office and found out the tech they sent out was his last day on the job with DuPure. They refused to send another tech to double check the tech that quit who didn't check my equipment. DuPure reps are kids who aren't licensed professionals being inexperienced liars along with absolutely NO supervision. I'm starting to see calcium build up rings in my commode & my shower heads are getting calcium build up. Clearly DuPure EcoPur's System ain't as good as they say while Im seeing calcium build up after 10 yrs with this worthless EcoPur system. I'm now looking to completely throw away DuPure's stuff to find more reputable equipment with licensed reps who likely care about servicing customers properly!! Worst installation and followup customer experience - system still not correctly installed. Beware when working with this vendor. I paid premium based on the sales person promise to cover life time parts and great support for this company water softener installation. The installation person did not complete correct installation of the drain and left it blaming the builder. I scheduled a followup with them to correct the installation issue and they stood me up 5 times (no show). The problem is still not fixed and I continue to work with them to come down and fix the issue. What a horrible customer experience working with this company. read more

BEWARE. This is the WORST company I have ever had the dissatisfaction to work with. We put in a whole house filtration system along with reverse osmosis. It has been issue after issue. First being that the original system was not properly working and after 6 months of $250 water bills they finally replaced it. It then had to be serviced because it was still not properly working. We still have water spots on EVERYTHING and our reverse osmosis is now broken. We still have yet to have the water damage from when the reverse osmosis leaked under our sink repaired. When I had my Ryland Home built it came with pre installed equipment, one of which was DuPure. We should have argued harder but we were worn down. Very long story short, we paid way to much and have had nothing but costly repair problems for three years. The mother board has been replaced three times and I keep having to pay for it. I have found Dupure a delight. Not only do I have great tasting drinking water,but in the past I have also suffered from severely dry skin. Since I have had Dupure's Softener system I don't have that problem anymore with my water system of 4 years now. Well worth the expense. Customer service people are knowledgeable and so nice and the techs are very knowledgeable and nice also. I am glad that I am not one of the people that believe everything they read on the Internet since some people that are just so bitter , and negative in life and just have to complain about something. So using my judgement instead or complains I made the right decision getting. my system with no regrets. I love my system so much if I ever move it will come with me. My mom has extremely dry skin, and passed it down to me. She had a water softener in her old home, but when she moved didn't purchase one. I've been on her about it, because it's such a noticeable difference. She finally got one last week and it's awesome. The guy who installed it knew what he was doing and had it done in about an hour. We got a softener and an RO at the sink. The sales man was very friendly and helped us pick out the right softener. I'd definitely recommend Dupure. read more

We got a free filter from this company. It was an under-the-sink filter, and it came with our house. To get it we had to call the number left on the sink and have a "specialist" come out. She tested our water with random chemicals. She didn't know what the chemicals were called. It took her well over an hour-and-a-half to do her sales routine. At the end we were told the system was going to be in the neighborhood of $5000.00, so we told her "no thanks." We did get our free filter that came with the house, though. The Du Pure filtered water tastes TERRIBLE. My daughter says it tastes like lemons. I couldn't stand the taste either so I used it for the fish and my plant. It killed both. I started using the regular water for the fish when I saw the plant was dying, but he was never the same. We stopped using it after this because we were concerned about what it could be doing to us. Why would we want to pay for water that tastes like crap and isn't healthy? read more

I wish I could give this company more stars. Like others, the salesman was all smiles and friendly, telling me about their great customer service. Last year my tank lost pressure. After several tries of fixing it (myself AND my handyman) I was forced to pay for a house visit by their technician. We were offered their service as part of our new home sales. It was pricey, but they said their system was very good. We found that replacing the filters was at least twice as much for the reverse osmosis system. Same filters as the rest of the industry, but they use special threads so you have to use their filters. When we had trouble with the system, we could not get any response from the home office. They sent a service man at $125 an hour to look at the system. He did not fix the issue. We are now installing another osmosis system today. That is cheaper that dealing with Dupure. If I had it to do over again, I would rent a system from a trusted brand. That way you know they will be there then you have issues. I would NOT recommend DuPure to anyone. read more

Very bad product - all lies in their marketing - I have DUPURE GENERATION SERIES - GENESIS in my newly constructed home and this product was sold by the builder - 3 years and water pressure of whole house is impacted because of this product and bypassing it makes water pressure gets normal - thinking it to be normal maintenance issue, called customer service, who instead of standing behind their product and agreement, gives me a solution for 1250 USD (almost the cost of the unit itself) !!! and that too when sale agreement claims 5 year warranty on the product - now when they catch you impacted with problems, they love to tell you that actually there was a filter which could be put in front of resins and that would never let resins go bad and that it is certainly warranted for life of the product! WAO!! what a SCAM!!!! WILL NEVER suggest this product to anyone and to save your money! read more

I cannot remember ever having so many problems with a company. I cannot remember ever having such a difficult time resolving an issue with a product. I cannot remember ever being so angry at myself for spending so much money on a piece of junk that clearly doesn't, and will not, work. If it wasn't for my wife not permitting me to do so, I would file in small claims court to get back part of the $3,000 I spent on the oversized paperweight sitting in my garage that Dupure conned me into buying. I don't recall how many service calls I have made over the last few months but it has been many. I don't recall how many hours of leave I have had to take from work so I could be here waiting for a tech to show up, only to find that there was nobody coming; a whole afternoon wasted, just the other day, sitting around my house for nothing, noone, no reason; no tech ever showed up. The problem remains. For months, my pregnant wife has been showering in, cooking with, and drinking water that smells like a public swimming pool full of chemicals. I've been puchasing bottled water for my family because Dupure's "top of the line" whole house water filter system appears to able to clean f**kall from my water. It is interesting that the first service call, where I get charged more money, was answered with a tech showing up promptly within a few days. But when I need additional servicing within the free 30 day window, the techs can't come out for a week, if they show up at all. When the techs have shown up, each one states the settings are off from the last techs visit and assures me the problem has now been fixed. Well, no, the problem has not been fixed. I find it especially troubling that one tech, aware that the filter was not filtering anything, advised me to pour a cup of bleach into the filter. A cup of bleach that my pregnant wife would then be drinking as the bleach would make it's way out of my drinking faucets because the system isn't filtering anything. I will be filing this same complaint with the BBB and every online review site and forum I can find. I cannot understand how a company with such overpriced items, poorly constructed items, and near non-existant customer service can endure for as long as Dupure has been in business. When I finally got a response back about the latest missed appointment time, I was told I was never on the schedule for April 27 so I forwarded back to him his email he sent saying I was scheduled for April 27th. Beware!!! These people are there to rip you in installments. Within two years of installation I spent over 600 $ for maintenance alone. For their tech to come over to your place, they charge you 140$, which is ridiculous. Every two years I am going to spend this amount for maintenance and additional if the system fails in between, which happened once after fifteen months of installation and paid 140 for their tech to come over. The sales person told me that I will only have to pay 200$ for maintenance once in two years. Their one and only customer service lady tells me that they have to keep their company running and this is the cost of maintenance. Does not make sense to me. I went with this company as the builder of my new home used them. First filter worked great. I then paid over $100 for replacements at the recommended end of 6 months. I have fish and test my water frequently. The water from the new filters started running high levels of ammonia; it KILLS fish! After 2 weeks of talking with the company, they admitted they had changed the filters but would do nothing but "send me a new set of the same new filters". By the way, I had to make every phone call as I NEVER got a promised phone call back, NOT ONE! The only recourse they left me with was to cut my cost and get a different system. read more

My new DR Horton home came with this filtration system and I was able to get the upgraded plus filter for the kitchen only. I had my appointment on 4/22/16. I remember in an email from one of the top who said "my appointment would last about 40-50 mins"...mine was only 20. First, the specialist was 20 mins late. Second, he spent more time trying to sell me other filters and talking about how soft water was important than telling me about the filter he was installing. I had to ask him how to use it. I also felt throughout the appointment that he was being condescending. It wasn't his place to tell me "if I can afford a cell phone bill, then a filter shouldn't be a problem". I felt it was very rude and I really didn't appreciate it. I'm so glad I didn't purchase anything else from this company. I emailed the original 'activation specialist' about my concerns and I never got a response or a phone call. Where to begin? We were met with our sales rep on Friday April 26th for the initial meeting. We were told we would receive our first filter free and then all other filters would be about 50 dollars a piece. We were told about the water softeners they sold and how much each one cost and what came with it. The sales rep was a great hype man. We were talked into getting the most expensive water softener. He told us we would receive at NO COST the reverse osmosis, tax, installation, a new water faucet for the drinking station and soap. The installation team came out and had no clue what they were doing. Not to mention, one of the technicians was listening to his music loud while installing the reverse osmosis in our kitchen. I don't even want to repeat the vulgar language I had to listen to. Our reverse osmosis wasn't even hooked up or turned on after they left. I noticed after being told it would fill up within 45 minutes. It was empty nothing was coming out of the faucet. I was also told my warranty was in the booklet on how to work the softener. We had to get a technician to come fix what they messed up! He stated it wasn't done right. You would think the technicians would have a clue what that they were doing. It is now May 15 and After numerous texts we still have not received our login information for getting the "soap" we were promised. We just want to get login information we were promised on our contract. The customer service weds some work and the technicians need some training. If you are going to talk people into spending a lot of money at least keep your promises. read more
