Hard water returned, soap stopped lathering, mineral buildup reappeared, and the water's taste and smell became unpleasant--essentially the same issues the system was supposed to fix. When I contacted the company, they sent a technician who used a questionable testing device, dismissed my concerns, and falsely claimed the system was working fine. Despite clear signs of hard water throughout the home, the technician refused to address the issue and didn't check any of the system's internal components, such as the resin. Later, the company attempted to charge me a service fee just to re-examine their faulty product, and they pushed replacing the reverse osmosis (RO) filter--an entirely unrelated component that only serves a single faucet--as a solution. This was a distraction from the real problem: the central softener system had failed. On May 30, the company acknowledged the issue and scheduled a technician visit for June 2. However, on the morning of the appointment, they abruptly called to cancel and reversed their position, demanding more money upfront. The technician they eventually sent again failed to resolve the issue. The root cause appears to be substandard resin material that failed prematurely. Instead of honoring the warranty, Houston Water Solutions attempted to shift the burden of cost back onto me to replace parts they installed and knew would not last. Adding to the concern, the salesperson who sold the system completely disappeared after the sale--no follow-up, no accountability, and no customer care. I paid significantly more than neighbors who purchased working systems from other vendors. This experience goes beyond poor service. It demonstrates a clear pattern of fraud: misrepresenting the product and warranty terms, using deceptive diagnostics to deny service, and demanding additional payment for repairs that should be fully covered. This is not just unethical--it is potentially criminal. I have documented all communications, visits, and failed resolutions and will continue to escalate this through legal and public channels. A reputable company would have reached out to resolve the issue and protect its reputation, but clearly, this is not a priority for them. Was a 5 star until my house flooded. GM refused to transfer to higher manager or customer service reporting was our fault. Dishonest workers who told us it was not a proper installation but then said we tampered with the system to make it leak and flood my house..... so frustrated and really disappointed as we were good customers and made many referrals. I am so impressed by this company! We bought a house two years ago with an installed water softener system. Recently, we found out the system was leaking. I immediately started researching replacements for the softener system. I only deal with companies with five star reviews. Culligan, had a 4.9 review Houston Water Solutions had a five star review. I contacted both and found essentially a $2000 plus difference in cost. Gabby was quick to respond and give me a quote. After getting a couple of other quotes, I then asked that the quotes be put in writing and sent to my husband, an accountant, to review. After reviewing the quotes and getting some additional information, we chose Houston Water Solutions. They got the installation scheduled very quickly. I got home from work and was told that there was a mistake with the pricing on the quote. The emailed quote was less than the normal price by a significant amount. I told my husband that the quote I had been verbally told was the same as what the installer told him. To my surprise, the company honored the emailed quote. How many companies would do that with no questions? We then talked about it and offered to split the difference with Houston Water Solutions, they refused and said it was their mistake.
