I had two separate claims stemming from storm damage. Working with the insurance company was very confusing... Enter Dan Dobrenick and the rest of the team at Durable Roofing and everything was smooth sailing. Dan led my wife and I through the whole claims process for BOTH of our claims and made certain that ALL damage was covered and replaced properly. He walked us through the building codes, the shingles, the venting, the gutters... I truly couldn't be more happy with both the assistance and the quality of the work. The insurance dance took some time (current building codes had to be adhered to, etc.) but in the end, with little more than a few phone calls and a few visits from appraisers, Dan was able to get the entirety of the damage covered, replaced and looking better than ever. read more

We had 7 new windows installed last week and we couldn't be happier with the results! The windows are quiet, no more air leaks and they stay open when opened! The install team was great, they finished it all in one day and left everything clean with all the window trim back in place. Our biggest fear was cost but Dan D. gave us several options and quoted it all out so we can make the decision that was best for us, didn't fell pressured about the sale at all. We cannot speak to the entire organization since we did not hire them. We will, however, review our interactions with Chris. He came to our door, as many other roofing companies have done since the severe hail storm in our area in April. We've been extremely busy and since there have been no signs of issues with our roof, we haven't been in a hurry to have it looked at. Chris advised us our roof had serious issues and needed to be replaced immediately. Keep in mind, he never at any point actually went on our roof - his assessment was purely from looking at it from the ground. He assured us he knew the adjusters for our insurance company personally and he would advise them of all our damage and they would approve a claim to replace our roof, gutters, downspouts, window screens, and deck staining - which he claimed all showed signs of severe hail damage. He said we needed to call our insurance company right away and get an adjuster out so they could start work as soon as possible before winter. He said he would meet us with the adjuster to go up on the roof with them to get everything straightened out. We called our insurance company and they scheduled an appointment for this past Saturday. Chris said he would be here. Not only did he not show up for the appointment after assuring my husband he would be here, we still haven't received a call to explain why he didn't make it. Chris was also completely wrong about the condition of our roof. The inspector found no unusual issues with our property. He even recommended our insurance company provide us a "clean bill of heath" protecting us from future claims we negligently ignored damage resulting in greater loss. Our insurance company agreed without hesitation and they have provided the necessary paperwork stating they agree with the inspector - there is nothing wrong with the exterior of our home. Anyone who knows insurance companies knows they will not leave themselves open to future claims, so I have no doubt about the inspector's assessment. The inspector even went so far as to say barring any future significant storms in the area, we should have a minimum of 10 more years before our roof needs to be replaced. Not quite the picture Chris painted. Again, we cannot say if the actions of this one employee represents the culture of the entire organization, however, we will never consider doing business with them in the future based on our interactions with Chris. We really try to support local organizations, especially small businesses, but based on our experience we cannot recommend them to anyone we know. It is hard to build a reputation, yet so very easy to destroy one. Since we did not hire them, we cannot comment on the quality of their work. But based on our experience with Chris, we would strongly suggest doing a great deal of homework before hiring this company. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! Don't be a victim of a scam! Bob, the sales representative showed up at the home of my mother. He told her that she would be able to easily get insurance money for the siding replacement and the damage to the house. The home has aluminum siding that is rather old, and the hail damage is on only three sides of the house. When my mother mentioned this, Bob told her that the aluminum as scrap would be worth "a lot" and would be able to cover the other side of the house. He also told her about other possible areas of the house that he could advocate for the insurance to cover. Essentially, according to Bob, the only cost to my mother would be the insurance deductible. Bob asked my mother sign what she thought was a "good faith" agreement, allowing him to "advocate" for her when the insurance adjuster arrived. My mother arranged for the insurance adjuster to come and look at the house. She called Applaudable and let them know that the insurance adjuster would be there. Bob met with him and estimated the cost of the replacement (minus deductible). The insurance company gave a check for approximately half of the amount to Bob, and the rest to my mother. At no point during this transaction, did Bob indicate that the amount the insurance gave him was not going to be enough to adequately cover the cost of the repair of the entire house. Several days later, Bob came out to the house to do a follow up measurement. He claimed that there had been some mistakes made on the original paperwork, and he needed to double-check his original numbers. Again, he gave my mother the impression that things were moving along nicely. Several days later, Bob called to inform my mother that, despite all of his promises, she would indeed, need to pay $5000 more for the siding on the house in order to complete the job on the undamaged portion. Of course, my mother said that she would be unable to do this, and that she would have to decline. "I don't know why you wouldn't want to do this," he said. She told him that he had, on several occasions, told him that there would be no cost to her beyond the deductible. She had also been clear to him that she would be unable to do the job if the cost was much more than what the insurance would pay. At this point, she was told that Applaudable would be keeping 20% of the payout of the insurance. This amounted to almost 1600. He also referred her to the "contract" that she signed earlier, where those terms were spelled out. "We have to feed our families," Replied Bob. "We need to be compensated for the work we have already done." When my mother inquired about exactly what work they had done, Bob mentioned the times that he had been out to measure and "advocate" for with the insurance. Most recently, Bob called to inform my mother that the check from the insurance was in the mail, minus the 20%. He also informed her that she could give her lawyer a call if she wanted. "They have had several people try to get their money back," he said, "but no one has ever won." Bob made all sorts of claims to my mother in order to get her to sign a contract in haste. When few of his claims came to pass, he used the contract to cover his own mistakes. While these practices may not technically be "illegal," they are, at best, deceptive; at worst, slimy. Bob should have just apologized, returned the full amount, and learned that when you make a bunch of verbal promises you can't keep, it's better to admit it. The ill-will that this situation has caused is far expensive than the 1600 dollars Applaudable roofing got from my mother. read more

These guys are a bunch of crooks! Save your time and money and find some other contractor to repair your home for you. Typical take the money and run business. The work that was promised was not completed. The salesman made us promises to secure the project, and then pulled a bait and switch. All of the sudden the salesman was no longer available, the workers knew nothing of the "promised repairs" and the owner also denied any knowledge of such repairs. Incredibly pleased with the level of service, professionalism and workmanship! We worked with Bob and Kristen primarily. Our insurance company was very difficult to work with, delaying repairs and replacement of both the roof and the siding the whole time water damage continued to pile up. Both Bob and Kristen went out of their way to assist us with the insurance company, keep us informed at every step what the status was, who they were talking to and what the outcome of every conversation with our insurance adjuster was. Bob was very knowledgeable and was very clear on the process, what to expect next, and what my responsibilities were to the insurance company and what his responsibilities were to me and the insurance company. In all we ended up with all of our much needed repair work completed in quickly by excellent crews, all of whom were very friendly and considerate of us and our neighbors as we live in a tight neighborhood. The craftsmanship was excellent and we had 0 scrap or garbage left in our yard at all! A very positive experience from start to finish! read more

I have this company come over for an estimate. They did not get the job. They obviously got upset because they've been harassing me through messenger threatening to sue me. They put a false claim into my insurance company trying to scam the money out of my insurance company without a signed contract. They do not stop messaging me and I had to make a police report I would not use this company read more

ZERO stars....Would have to agree with previous review. They are more than happy to help you get more money from your insurance carrier. But when it comes to following through on their work, sadly they are less than diligent. The flat roof on our garage has never been right since they put in on back in 2012. Literally 1 week later during a rain storm we were shocked to find roofing material littering our back yard. We called them and they came back and supposedly fixed it. Not so, it happened less than a month later again. Again, they came back and made it look as though they were repairing it. We were less than thrilled at this point as we had owned this house for 16 years and NEVER had an issue with that roof. It has now happened over 4 times and the last time it happened we called and called and emailed and called but NO response. Finally after a very angry message left, they did contact us to let us know they were going to make it "right". They came and put a tarp on the garage as we were now into winter with the promise that they would come back and repair it in the spring. So here we are 2 years later with a hideous blue tarp on our garage and Applaudable avoiding our calls. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! I wish we had done our due diligence in checking this company out prior to allowing them to work on our homes. 11/3/14-Update to my prior review: My husband was finally able to reach the owner of the company who apologized profusely and assured us the garage roof would be done. It was completed 2 weeks ago quickly and efficiently. They also did a good job of cleaning up their materials, nails, etc. We are happy with the roof it also looks much better than the original did. read more

I had a leak in my roof and had 5 or 6 contractors out to look at it. No one could figure it out, but one contractor put in some flashing where he suspected there was a problem. However, it did not work, so I inquired with a couple of companies via the internet. One of them was Applaudable Roofing and Construction, who sent out Bob. Bob took a look at the roof using binoculars and told my architectual shingles, despite being 24 years old, were still in good shape, which I was glad to here. I told him of my leak which was exiting in one of my downstairs windows and asked him for advise. A couple of weeks later, Bob came out with the owner, I believe, who was an expert on locating leak problems. He gave my handyman friend and me his thoughts on a seam in my copper barrel roof and how to repair it with sealant. This was at no charge to me whatsoever. Although I have no experience with this company doing work for me, I plan to use them to replace my roof because of the goodwill they have built with me. I have had this leak for a couple of years now and I am so grateful someone was finally able to figure out the solution. read more

I recently searched online as to where I can get a chimney for my roof project. I thought I was very specific in what I needed, but I received many phone calls and emails to come out and give me a quote on replacing my roof, so unfortunately something was lost in the translation. Dan from Applaudable Roofing contacted me via email and a phone call, and he left a message that he was willing to help. I explained exactly what it was that I needed and he quickly realized that his services were not needed, but he was more than willing to give me information for what I was searching for. We had water damage in our office that occurred over a weekend. After the initial shock and clean up process, we sent out RFQ's to 3 companies each for carpet, painting and construction for our bathrooms that were completely gutted. We found Applaudable Roofing and Construction on the web completely randomly. The communication and follow up from the very beginning of the process was simply stated, exceptional. From the initial call, to the first estimate, to the multiple meetings to review project, Applaudable had a calming effect on an otherwise very stressful situation. They were able to do everything needed with the exception of installing new carpet. We had a single point of contact in Brian. They committed to our time frame for start and end of project and worked diligently throughout a 11 day window to meet that commitment. The work is just exceptional, from the bathroom remodels, to the door replacements, painting, installing of trim and electrical work, etc. The Applaudable team is one I would recommend to anyone looking for work to be done both commercial and/or residential. We hired Applaudable Roofing this past May to replace our roof, wrap, and gutter system on our home after the hail storm in April. Chad was our sales person in the beginning and was there when our insurance inspector was out to inspect for damage. It was determined that our roof was definitely compromised as well as our gutters, garage door and several other miscellaneous items and a contract was signed. Unfortunately, due to our old gutter system being obsolete, it took Applaudable's representative Dan D. quite a while (several months) to square everything away with the insurance company before work could actually be started. Once the work was started though (late August/September), the crew to convert the gutter system and wrap the wood, the crew to remove the old and install the new roof, and the crew to install the new gutters were all professional and very thorough. Prior to this hail storm, we already knew that there was a problem with the roof due to water spots on our great room ceiling so after the roof crew pulled off the old roof, they made sure to inspect and repair the damaged areas prior to installing the new roof. They even made some additional very minor repairs on other areas of the exterior of our home of which we are very appreciative. In addition, we are very happy with the shingle style/color selection and new gutter system. Our home looks awesome and we are very happy that we chose Applaudable Roofing to do this work.
