Just to the north of Dallas, Texas just under a hundred miles, right near highway 35 lies this cute little airport. It is very close to the southern border of Oklahoma right near the Texas, Oklahoma border. After a tough week, I took a little adventure to the north of Dallas on highway 35 for a discovery/adventure trip. I had stopped and talked to some locals and found out a rumor of a fantastic catfish restaurant, that some folks would fly into the small airport and wonder over for their catfish! Now that seems like it must be some damn good catfish to me! It must be in how fresh the fish must be and the breading! Ok, so I was on adventure to learn more. I found this little airport where they would fly into and boy is it small! The restaurant for this fantastic catfish is known as McGehee Catfish Resturant and has high marks with Yelp so far! A four out of five with currently 25 reviews, but who else knows about this hidden gem that even pilots are willing to fly into this little airport for fresh catfish. This catfish restaurant must be good to have so many pilots and their customers fling in for catfish! What I loved is from observation that this is a cute little airport! I flew through Dallas Love Field for the first time recently. And while I know I was seeing it in…read morethe middle of World Cup craziness, I was very impressed. This airport is on the smaller side. Only Southwest and Delta fly through here, but being on the smaller end, made it easy to get to your gate and to get to baggage claim quickly. But don't let the smaller size make you think it doesn't have much. My husband was particularly impressed with the Whataburger kiosk right past security. You can order there and then pick up when you get to Whataburger further down the concourse. DAL also had some live entertainment as well as ample other food and gift options. Our flights were relatively on time; security went fast; and the bathrooms were also clean. It checks all the boxes!

Dallas/Love is always a great airport to fly into! The employees are friendly and helpful, and the…read moreairport is consistently clean and well maintained. It's a good size, easy to navigate without feeling overwhelming. We really enjoy flying through this airport. Just keep in mind that Monday mornings can be especially busy, so it's a good idea to allow some extra time.

Our most recent flight transfer through Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) was an…read moreextremely upsetting experience with TSA. Although we both have Global Entry, we were randomly selected to go through regular security screening. At first, we had no reason to question it. When we first approached the TSA PreCheck personnel, she told us that our digital boarding passes did not show PreCheck and that we needed to go through regular security. To save time, we went to the American Airlines desk and requested paper boarding passes. When we brought them back, the TSA personnel told us that she had just learned that we had been "randomly" marked for regular security screening. We then went to the regular security checkpoint, which had a much longer line and took approximately four times longer than the PreCheck line. When we finally reached the metal detectors, however, we were instructed to line up for the X-ray scanner instead. The woman directly in front of us was allowed to go through the regular metal detector, while we were directed to the scanner. Then, people behind us were also sent to the scanner, while other passengers were allowed to continue through the metal detector. At that point, we began noticing a very disturbing pattern. The people being held back and directed to the scanner appeared to be African American, Asian, or Hispanic, while the passengers being allowed through the metal detector appeared to be white. We understand that TSA screening can be random, but seeing this pattern unfold right in front of us was extremely difficult to ignore. It felt like blatant racial profiling. After this experience, I now question whether we were truly "randomly" selected in the first place. We have taken more than 10 flights since getting Global Entry, and this was the first time we were ever "randomly" selected for regular security screening. We genuinely believed it was simply a random screening until we experienced what happened at the security checkpoint. Because of the additional screening, we lost valuable time during our connection. We had only about 1 1/2 hours between flights, and by the time we finally cleared security, the boarding closing time printed on our boarding passes had just passed. We panicked and ran to the nearest American Airlines desk. Thankfully, a staff member checked our flight and kindly assured us that the flight was delayed and that boarding had just started. We then ran from Terminal D to Terminal B, including taking the airport train, and barely made it in time for boarding. We had no opportunity to use any of the airport amenities, restaurants, or shops, so unfortunately, we cannot comment on those. What we can comment on is how upsetting and unacceptable it was to feel that we were treated differently because of our race. No traveler should have to experience this. I sincerely hope DFW and TSA will look into how passengers are being selected and directed through these screening lines.

Be aware, I have driven around trying to find this little airport for over three hours and can't…read morelocate it. I love watching pilots practice, but for hours using GPS and other investigative tools I could not locate this place. Soon I will try another adventure to try to locate this little airport. Hopefully they will read this review and update their location / status! Here is just another attempt to help make Yelp more accurate for the end user!

This is a small little municipal airport located in Greenville, Tx. Was here with a local boy…read morescout troop that was learning all about aviation. Major kudos to the local flying club (Majors Flying Club), who were kind enough to volunteer their time and their planes to take these youngsters up in the air. These guys have a lot of heart to do what they do for the community! The airport is very nice and there's even a company that does tandem parachute jumps from this airport. Really cool to watch the skydivers coming down!
