I got to use this airport the other day and even though TSA challenges were causing problems all over the country, it did not seem to impact this airport. The line was short, and it went fast. The airport itself was ok, it looked like it needed an update, or a deep cleaning. It was grey and dingy. The gates had various food options, bars, and some stores to by snacks and souvenirs. They did have 1 interesting art piece in the ceiling. The people that worked there were charming and cordial. I added 2 photos for you to enjoy.

Organized TSA, Rental shuttle, easy to read signs and plenty of restaurants. Had a seamless experience getting through TSA to my gate. Airport was clean, staff friendly. Not all airports are easy to navigate but theu made it easy with plenty of signs.

Access thru terminal- Just before TSA pre security. Always empty. Great place to stretch, make a call, or unwind before the flight.

Still rocking and rolling. Always busy but always easy to get in. Wish they had a lounge option on Priority Pass, but I dig the vibe. Families, note that Zen garden right before TSA security. Photo attached.

BUSY BUSY AIRPORT! I almost didn't make it to my connecting flight thank goodness 2 groups after me were still boarding..Thank you Southwest for seat assignments..and overhead bin for the win!

LET'S START WITH THIS.... TSA is so much different than Chicago Ohare. What a relief! The airport is nice. A lot of spots to stop for drinks, food and merchandise. The staff is nice and also helpful. Easy to get through. There was a Starbucks located right at our gate and that was nice for the kids.

Wonderful airport (how often does anyone say that!) How to connecting flight from San Antonio to Tampa and was very pleased with this airport. Good shopping and good food with a relaxed atmosphere. That is very unlike the hustle and bustle of some other larger airports. Will try and connect here going forward!

This is a mid sized airport that is really easy to navigate and get around. There is only one terminal, two levels with two concourses. Southwest is the primary airline while JetSuiteX provides flights from a separate terminal. There are a few center aisle kiosk, restaurants and shops such as Chilis and Starbucks. There is also a light rail ride (DART) that has a free shuttle transportation to the Inwood station. The terminal lay out design is like a straight long walk way. Getting around is easy peezy

This is your typical airport. It's not as large as some of the others, but you'll find what you want/need while on a layover. I was passing through on the trip home to see Mom. And of course, since it's a Dallas airport, I found some Dallas Cowboy's gear for my brother and Dad. It's easy to navigate, find your gate, and be on your way. The restrooms were clean.

They call it Big D for a reason.

Meh. It is what it is: an outdated airport, really serving only one airline (yo! Southwest!), with a modern veneer splashed about. No Admirals Clubs or other fancypants spots to be found. You know what Love Field is not? DFW. You can walk end-to-end, from Gate 1 to Gate 20, at Love Field in five minutes or less. That is quite the bonus if you have a connecting flight, which many people do if they use one of the limited number of airlines. Juxtapose this with DFW, where you might have to switch trains, walk through multiple terminals, and get worn out before you have to fly. But hey, you're getting your steps in at DFW. Advantage: Love Field. But Love Field's comparative amenities are sparse, although you can grab a quick drink at either end of the terminal, and if you miss a flight or get weather delays, then the options for entertainment grow slim. DFW wins this one. But it is what it is and Love Field isn't really trying to be more. Yes, they dedicate mostly to just one airline and that probably works really well, but Dallas has options. If you're flying Southwest, then this is your jam.

I've travelled in and out of Dallas Love Field countless times whenever I take a Southwest flight to the DFW area. The airport is clean, has lots of restrooms and is easy to navigate. There's even a Chick-fil-A that is always closed because somehow I exclusively fly in or out on Sundays it seems. The one drawback as a Celiac is that I try to eat before I fly out of here because safe options are difficult to find here. There are plenty of shops and security is easy to get through. The Dallas Love Field airport is the best airport to fly into when coming to the DFW area! In comparison to DFW International, this airport is much smaller and the terminal area is easy to navigate. Only a few airlines fly into this airport but I believe most of the traffic comes from Southwest airlines. They've remodeled this airport in the last couple of years and everything inside the terminal feels modern and clean. I love all their little shops and the food selection is also great. The only thing I don't love about this airport is their rideshare area. It is located inside a parking garage which is kinda out of the day and it requires a good 10min walk which might not be very convenient to folks carrying a lot of luggage. Overall, this is a great airport to fly into Dallas and avoid all the madness from their other international airport.

Ok. Easy in and easy out... it's just far from Fort Worth and the cowboys in Arlington. The rental cars are booked up solid most of the time - at least that's how it feels to me .. so book early and well before your trip. Southwest's hub so it's where I fly in to . Southwest is easier to fly for me - so it's where I go. The staff are nice and the food court has something for everyone.. so it's a win.

I like this airport better than the other Dallas airport. It's smaller and reminds me of a mall. It's really crowded and the bathroom always seems to have a long line. The charging sockets are hit and miss. Some work, while others don't. Because the airport is smaller, there is less seating, which often leads to a lot of travelers standing around. The stores and restaurants within are ok. I did like the addition of a CPK pizza vending machine. I thought that was cool. It's an ok airport.

    Is it ok.....................?

To bring personal blenders (not Ninja) where you can remove the blades, wrap them properly as it says on the TSA website and carry them separate ?????????? F .... NO 😡

What is the best hotel to leave your car at for a week? (Hopefully one with an early shuttle service) Thanks

If you pay for park and ride you can leave your car at hotels. It's usually much cheaper than the car lots at the airports.

What would you describe this airport? What time would you arrive at a gate if departed the 17th of next month at 1:40pm?

Smaller airport, easy to navigate with primarily only Southwest Airlines' flights

I think I have read there are no lounges at this airport, is there anywhere quiet I can sit and talk on the phone?

We have been to Dallas Love field many times and I feel that you can find a place to make a phone call

If I'm picking someone up will I be able to go into the airport and wait for them at their gate ? or will I not be let in after a certain point?

Only ticket passengers are allowed to go in.

What time do the souvenir shops open? I have a 7:40 flight and I really want to get a cowboy hat before I fly back to Boston.

You should but I had someplace before you leave for the airport. That's sad I'm not sure what time the shops open but my guess is most of them will be

How long does it take to exit the airportonce off the plane? Plane arrives at 11pm but car rental.closes at 11:30, can I make it in time?

Even with checked bags you'd likely make it. The airport is compact and WN is quick to get luggage off and to baggage claim.

Does anyone remember when Dallas Love Field was spelled "LLove"?

    No lol

Long story short... I have to use a folding cane when I travel and need chair assist for airport mobility. I have two major health issues which do not allow me to freely move about without becoming so exhausted I literally cannot function. Cancer treatments can be brutal. As I boarded the plane in Dallas, a man was sitting in the aisle seat of the very front row. I boarded first and was trying to put my carry on overhead when this man suddenly started griping that I hit him with my cane. I felt NOTHING. how I could have hit him and not even felt a bump, I will never understand. I apologized to him and continued getting settled in. He kept griping that I was careless and carrying on like I had murdered his mother. I don't know what was going on with him, but it was way bigger than my supposedly hitting him by accident with my aluminum cane, which was hanging on my wrist by an elastic string. After getting settled in, one seat between he and I, another man came and sat in the seat between us. I leaned in to him after he got all seated and told him, "I don't know what that fella's problem is, but he sure has an attitude. Watch out." I whicspered this to the man, so the other fellow with the fly in his ointment could not possibly have heard me. Just then, the man of whom I was speaking got up and walked to the front of the plane. Before too long, a couple of the airline employees approached me and asked me to leave the plane! I was dumbfounded! My 75 year old mother was due to meet me in Boston and these people want to gum up my travel arrangements? I literally said nothing. I just got up and disembarked. No complaining. No arguing. NOTHING. After getting off, I asked to speak to a manager. When she finally showed up, I asked her to please tell me what I had said or done that merrited my being taken off the plane. All she said was, "If our attendants feel you need to be removed, we remove you. Period." I insisted on a better, more thorough explanation. NONE was forthcoming. I wound up stuck in a hanger ofr hours, without food, being a sever diabetic who has serious issues when my sigar drops low, which is why when I travel I try to prepare for every possibility. I never in the world expected this to happen. Again, long story short, I wound up having to call my 75 year old mother on her borthday and tell her I was going to be several hours late as I had been removed from the plane, without explanation. What else could we do? Long story short (again), I have NEVER been back on a Southwest plabe since. I literally get hives just thinking about trying to use that airline. That experience was so tramatic that I STILL have nightmares about it and what could have happened. Not only am I a diabetic with leukemia, I am also a 40+ years in ministry ordained minister! That is why I gave them absolutely no issues when they asked me to get off the plane. I believe in trying to live Christ-like. I have a SOuthwest - Chase credit card and have accrued many, many, many travel points. I won't even use them to fly for free as I am terrified that I may be trying to go somewhere and I will once again, com pletely without cause or explanation, be removed from my flight. I STILL have no clue what was said that made these people do me as they did. I can only speculate. Honestly, and you have no idea how much I hate to say these words, I have to wonder if it wasn't race related? The man in question was black. So was every single Southwest employee I had dealt with. I have wondered over and over again if that man didn't falsely claim I used a racial epitath or something. Being married to a person of color, and having decades of ministry which has included preaching in as many churches of color as "white" churches, I am not even remotely inclined to that. Not even remotely. But that would be the only justifiable accusation I could think of for the treatment I received. I can't imagine any other reason. When my sugar drops I can get extremely irritable and easily angry and frustrated. I carry glucose tablets with me to try and prevent this from happening. I did have one issue years ago while taking a Southwest flight that involved me being in very bad spirits due to a hypoglycemic incident. I was travelling with my spouse at that time, so ultimately I was able to get access to food which resolves the blood sugar issue within about 30 minutes. I have wondered also if they didn't somehow blacklist me over that incident and therefore, any accusation would justify their doing what they did. To this day, I HAVE NO CLUE! I still cannot get the trauma of this event out of my head.
