There was a video game arcade lounge which was really cool and I thoroughly enjoyed. Finding the gate was easy but there was just so much walking.

Although we both have Global Entry, we were randomly selected to go through regular security screening. At first, we had no reason to question it. When we first approached the TSA PreCheck personnel, she told us that our digital boarding passes did not show PreCheck and that we needed to go through regular security. To save time, we went to the American Airlines desk and requested paper boarding passes. When we brought them back, the TSA personnel told us that she had just learned that we had been "randomly" marked for regular security screening. We then went to the regular security checkpoint, which had a much longer line and took approximately four times longer than the PreCheck line. When we finally reached the metal detectors, however, we were instructed to line up for the X-ray scanner instead. The woman directly in front of us was allowed to go through the regular metal detector, while we were directed to the scanner. Then, people behind us were also sent to the scanner, while other passengers were allowed to continue through the metal detector. At that point, we began noticing a very disturbing pattern. The people being held back and directed to the scanner appeared to be African American, Asian, or Hispanic, while the passengers being allowed through the metal detector appeared to be white. We understand that TSA screening can be random, but seeing this pattern unfold right in front of us was extremely difficult to ignore. It felt like blatant racial profiling. After this experience, I now question whether we were truly "randomly" selected in the first place. We have taken more than 10 flights since getting Global Entry, and this was the first time we were ever "randomly" selected for regular security screening. We genuinely believed it was simply a random screening until we experienced what happened at the security checkpoint. Because of the additional screening, we lost valuable time during our connection. We had only about 1 1/2 hours between flights, and by the time we finally cleared security, the boarding closing time printed on our boarding passes had just passed. We panicked and ran to the nearest American Airlines desk. Thankfully, a staff member checked our flight and kindly assured us that the flight was delayed and that boarding had just started. We then ran from Terminal D to Terminal B, including taking the airport train, and barely made it in time for boarding. We had no opportunity to use any of the airport amenities, restaurants, or shops, so unfortunately, we cannot comment on those. What we can comment on is how upsetting and unacceptable it was to feel that we were treated differently because of our race. No traveler should have to experience this. I sincerely hope DFW and TSA will look into how passengers are being selected and directed through these screening lines.

This may be America's smallest airport…read more I did not land here and only departed because we landed in OKC, which was cheaper than doing a whole round trip into this airport. Getting the car rental was easy, despite the current construction inside and out. I'm sure it's going to look really nice when completed. This airport's parking lot can probably fit 50 cars. One plus is that you get free parking during the first hour, so my friend was able to park and use the restroom while we went to the car rental counter. Only American Airlines flies in and out of here and there aren't multiple flights at once. If other people are in the airport, they will be on your flight. We arrived on April 20th at 3AM looking for a spot to drop the car rental. I'd thought it a better idea to drop off my mom in the front since it was raining and the doors were closed! A few minutes later, someone came and opened the doors. One of the check-in machines was not printing so I used the other. Only 2 check -in machines and the area is not big at all. We walked over to the TSA area and the gates were down! Someone informed we would not go through TSA until it was closer to boarding time, something very new for me. TSA PRECHECK: You stand in line with everyone and you get a card to keep your shoes on. Once you pass, it's like entering a small community room. All you see is all you get. It's like there's only 1 gate and that's it. There are no outlets by the seats so if you need to charge your phone, ensure your portable battery packs are charged be Within the airport gate, bathrooms are nice and clean but not a lot of stalls. Cannot speak to the bathrooms out in the general lobby area. I got "randomly" selected with a red tag so my roller luggage had to be put on the side of the entrance as we boarded the plane. I received it after we landed in Texas. I want to say at least 10 people got selected to have their suitcase "security checked". Did not get to try their cafe as it opens at 8AM and our (delayed) flight took off at 6AM. All in all, don't expect a lot from Lawton Airport and you'll be fine.

Okay, hear me out about Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport. It's actually really small. If you're…read moreever been to Tonga, you'll know what I mean. The airport is currently under construction, but the Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport team is very efficient. One thing I want to note is that ONLY American Airlines fly into this airport. And I just wanted to let you know that American Airlines is notorious for being delayed. If you're planning on coming here for the Army's BCT graduation, I highly, highly suggest you come here two days before the graduation date. A lot of us were delayed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and we thought we weren't going to make it to the graduation despite flying the day before (18 families on my flight with soldiers graduating). So let this be a warning. Now back to the airport. Once you land, you'll get off of a ramp that is outside and you'll walk into the airport building. You'll go through some bay doors and make it into the baggage pickup carousel area. Just past that is the car rental kiosk desk such as Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The airport is on the smaller side so going in and out of this airport is easy. There isn't much to do at this airport- they have vending machines and a cafe (for to-go only). TSA was super easy to get in and out. If you have TSA pre-check, they'll give you a card so you can bypass taking off your shoes and coat. If you don't, sorry- you're going to have to take those off. From my understanding, American Airlines only flies into this airport 2-3 times a day so be sure to remember that American Airlines is notorious for delays or cancellation! I personally like the ease of this airport. Stars shouldn't be deducted for not having a lot of activities here. It's a small regional airport and honestly, Lawton is lucky to have this airport nearby. I can't imagine flying into OKC or ICT and drive 40 minutes to 1 hour to get here just for graduation especially with delayed/cancelled flights. Oh, I also wanted to give a shout out to John. He's like a jack of all trades there!
