We used durants for our wedding this weekend. About a month before the day, my husband and I went in person to durants to confirm that we wanted tent walls added, as it would be cold in the evenings outside in October. Once arriving for wedding setup, we noticed that the walls were not included. We called the SAME lady (Michele) that we met in person, and she took NO accountability, claiming that we never asked for the walls and that she had no idea what we were talking about! So rude, and honestly so disappointing on their part. Rentals were also dirty and cheap! It looked like our white chairs we rented were used about 100 times and were NEVER cleaned. Dirt, mud, stains, tape on chairs, scratch marks. Some chairs were unusable, as they were so gross! Same with the tent walls! When they did arrive, they arrived dirty and were ZIP TIED to the tent! So ghetto. They had originally told us the walls could be raised and lowered on the tent walls. But the guy delivering the walls said that Michelle in the store LIED to us, and that they had to be zip tied to stay down. When we met in person at durants, we also planned to have everything delivered on friday before the wedding on saturday. We get a call the week of the wedding saying that they are dropping the rentals off on wednesday. We both worked wednesday and could not take off to be present when the rentals were dropped off. when calling Michele on the phone, she said we never settled on friday drop off (which we absolutely did). read more

Durant in Danbury CT ruined my son's wedding. They completely messed up the delivery of the tent for the wedding that took place on July 9th 2021. They delivered the tent on the day of the wedding in pouring rain, a full day late. The tent was supposed to protect the ground that the wedding was taking place on. When i called to complain, the sales girl Shayna was extremely apologetic but then the "manager" named Barbara came on who was not just, unempathetic and unhelpful, but was down right rude. She blatantly lied and accused me of changing the order which forced them to change the delivery date. When i asked why i was not informed, she said, i should have known better. She was uncooperative and refused to accept any responsibility. I have been ordering from Durant's for the last 10 years and they have been generally adequate. This was the last straw, never again. Beware. Take a look at the pictures, you can clearly see the tables are outside the tent, because it was too wet. Durants knows that they are the only option in the area for party rentals, and they bank on that. The front office is rude. They wouldn't provide a timeframe when coming to set up the rentals. And the tent leaked but they refused to take responsibility/provide any sort of refund. At all costs I beg you to do anything you can to avoid renting from this company. This place has some very rude staff as well as a rude manager who refuses to acknowledge when her own staff has made a mistake. I let the woman know at the front desk that no one will be home for the delievery and to let the delivery staff know where to place the tent in the backyard. I have the Ring camera system and saw them leave without setting the tent up.. i was then charged a second delivery fee due to them leaving and having to come back to my house. The manager sided with her employees and refused to refund me the fee.. then proceeded to tell me, "it's only an extra $100" ... as if i didn't spend enough on the rental to begin with....this was the definition of bad service and even worse management. My family will never use this company again for our party rentals and their customer service was abysmal ... the first issue we had was that they delivered the wrong equipment and unfortunately it was too late to fix since it was delivered minutes before the party began. Her comment on the previous review is a lie. We did not arrive to tables and chairs. We arrived to a tent frame on the ground and chairs. We also NEVER rented a grill. We brought our own. We waited hours for the tarp and they went to leave without giving it until someone in our group stopped them to get it. They went to leave again without provided our tables until stopped again. Had a party for my daughter's High School Graduation for about 70 people which was the Saturday of July 4th weekend. I pretty much knew what I wanted and set up order online (Tent, Tables, Chairs, Bounce House, 2 Stall Trailer Restroom, Ice Cream Cart, Chaffer Dishes, etc.). Service was excellent assisting in planning and answering questions. The problem is, that is where Durant's service stops. As I needed to be home to ensure tent, bounce house and restrooms were in the correct place I had asked for an approximate delivery window. They said they really couldn't guarantee a time, but it should be in the morning; at 11am I called and they said, it should be early afternoon as it was a busy weekend; at 3pm I called and they said they had problems with their truck that morning and it would be a few hours. I was also told again that they were very busy that weekend; at 4pm they called me to tell me they would be back to pickup the stuff on Sunday, which prompted me to ask what stuff since it wasn't delivered. They were very confused and said the delivery from that morning; they had no idea it wasn't there even though I had been calling all day. I asked what time the pick-up would be so I could have the party cleaned up by the right time and they said they couldn't tell; call them on Saturday. I responded that my party was Saturday and calling wasn't realistic and that they should call me, but I was told they were too busy and couldn't do so as they had 600 customers (failing to realize that I am one of them); at 6pm I called and they said they were an hour or so from delivery (at which time they also for the first time told me that the trailer restroom is separate and would come the next day); at 7:10pm they showed up; I was the last delivery of the day. Can you see the pattern; only communication was from me except the one call that wasn't to address my issue. They kept harping on the fact that they had a busy weekend. Guess what, that's your job! I had a busy weekend also and didn't need to sit around wasting a whole day. They could have told me I was last and then would have had the morning (and afternoon) free to run all of my other errands. The delivery guys were very apologetic & hard working so I couldn't hold it against them; just poor management. Now next issue; they brought the wrong bounce house since it was mislabeled at the warehouse. One guy spent 25 minutes on the phone trying to sort it out and said they would leave the one they brought and a replacement would be sent the next morning. The other frustration with the lack of coordination on delivery timing is that we had an ice cream cart; on line it says it takes several hours before it can be loaded. Since delivery was planned for morning, we had a bunch of Ben & Jerry's coming at 9pm which caused us to have to clear out our home freezer wasting things deemed less important than the ice cream for the party. The next day I noticed the tent had several holes (couldn't tell when it was set-up since it was near dark and in the shadows of the woods). I called and they said that sometimes happens and I can point it out to the guy delivering the restrooms, but that's not really his area. They did tell me at that time the bounce house was on it's way. When the bounce house arrived, and I give them credit for getting it done early, it came in a minivan. The delivery trucks have a lift for these heavy monsters but the minivan did not. They struggled and almost couldn't fit the wrong one back in the van and had asked if they could leave it on the driveway; answer was no (could leave it in the woods out of the way though), but when they called they were told they had to get to someone else. When setting up the chaffer dishes, one was sent with wrong base so the roll top didn't lock in like the others; the ice cream cart had a loose bolt on the umbrella stand which had it a bit wobbly (but no big deal). Overall, party went fine just dealing with Durant's was frustrating! Oh, and the Sunday pickup was Tuesday (except restroom that was gone Sunday) and surprise, surprise, Nobody called. A little bit of customer service would have gone a long way. If I didn't waste a day sitting around when they knew I was the last delivery it would have alleviated a lot of frustration. They also need to check product quality; this wasn't a cheap adventure and items rented should be undamaged and correct! Tip to management, don't tell me how busy you are and that you have 600 customers; when talking to me, I am the only customer you should be addressing. If you took on too much business, your fault, not mine! read more

We used Durant's for our wedding. The Wappinger Falls located was helpful when we picked table settings and they were very helpful in all the back-and-forth with our caterer. Generally speaking, very easy to work with and willing to explain quantities, expected costs, etc. Have a good selection. On the day of our wedding, we ordered heat lamps since it was going to be cold. Unfortunately, those didn't show up, but we didn't get charged for them either. read more

Durant's is amazing - I could always get in touch with them, and they were so patient with me modifying my order at least two or three times! Their supplies are top notch - I felt very comfortable having the older guests at my wedding reception sit on the very sturdy and attractive chairs we rented from them. The delivery was done in a timely way, and they worked w2ith my venue for a convenient pick-up time! I was very proud to have my venue look so great, and that was in large part to the furniture and supplies we rented from Durant's. Pricing was very reasonable, and the service was great. We reserved the combo fire station bounce house for a recent Saturday. They sent an email about 5 days prior to advise us it would be delivered on Thursday. It came and was set up (extra fee for delivery and another fee for set up) without a problem. The delivery men said they would be back on Tuesday to pick it up. They came and were extremely nice. Even with the additional charges 50 for delivery and 30 for set up/take down, their prices were the best plus we had it for much longer then the 6hrs alotted by the other companies. Staff support in Ridgefield, CT was professional. I reserved 2 tents 2-3 months ahead of the event date. Tent delivery and set up was a nightmare. While dealing with said nightmare, customer service support in Wappingers, NY was completely unprofessional and rude, ending with their staff hanging up on me! The delivery staff called me close to 7pm to try to get out of delivery for that day. When they finally arrived at 8:30pm, they did not have both tents. They could not set up the one correct tent that they did have because they were missing vital hardware needed for set up. Then we had to wait for someone else to deliver the correct sized tent and the additional hardware. We were at our event site until close to 11pm the night before our huge party. We wasted hours waiting for the tent delivery and set up. One of the reasons I chose Durants was because I thought a large company would be reliable since they had a large staff and many locations. I was wrong. I called management immediately following. Needless to say, that was over a month ago without a response. read more

We recently used Durants Party Rentals for a DIY wedding. We were extremely disappointed with their performance of customer service and their lack of attention to details. It started with delivering a set of chairs three days early with no notification. This was inconvenient to the home owner (backyard ceremony). Following this miscommunication, they failed to get the second order to the venue at an appropriate time even though their notes indicated we needed the delivery before 2pm the day before the wedding. They notified us of a broken-down truck issue but offered no alternatives. We were left to either pick up the delivery ourselves or wait until after 5pm, which is when the rehearsal dinner started. We picked up all tables and most of the flatware ourselves. They failed to set up the dance floor appropriately leaving off the trim around the edges. Because of this carelessness, we were not allowed to leave the dance floor until the following day requiring the assistance of some of our guests to take the dance floor apart and stack the pieces up after the wedding. Unacceptable! There were so many cloth napkins stained that we had to rely on paper napkins for our guests. It should have gone without saying that the event was a once in a lifetime event and the fact that they take immediate payment was another insult added to our experience. I would highly recommend finding another company to rent from. read more

We had an event that we rented 6 bar tables, 6 tableclothes and a coffee urn. They did come on time, but both delivery drivers were stoned out of their minds. We put the tables together, one was broken and three of the tableclothes were the wrong size. I called and said that we needed replacements and they told me to tape together the table and tie the tableclothes around the bases....Well that's not what we had planned. Then, it gets better. We have now had the tables in our store since Monday and its Friday now. I called to get them picked up and was sent to voicemail. The gal that answers the phone was very pleasant, but she can't make up for the company. I'm sad we used them. FYI this is the first review that I have ever made online....ever. read more

A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!! Unable to give 0 stars otherwise I would!!! I had a stressful and unpleasant experience with this place! My event is Saturday and they set up delivery for Thursday. The full payment was withdrawn from my bank account a week ago. Thursday came and nothing was delivered. I didn't receive a call letting me know why or when my delivery would arrive. I called Friday morning and was told that Friday in the afternoon. I called before closing time Friday and was told between 6-8pm. I was also told that they had an after hours service if I had any questions or concerns during after hours. Friday 8 pm came around and nothing. I called the after hours and was sent to a voicemail where I left a message. I have yet to hear back from them!! My event is tomorrow Saturday at 2pm and these people have yet to communicate with me on anything that is going on with my delivery. I've been chasing them calling trying to find out what is going on. I have enough going on that I should not have to be stressed and overwhelmed about when my tent, tables, chairs and inflatable will arrive for my sons first birthday!!! This is horrible customer service and communication on their part. I will NEVER use them again for any of my events!!! I wish I read some of the reviews prior to choosing this place. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! Rented tent and chairs from this company. When the delivery men came to pick up the items, they didn't ring the bell so I had no idea they were on my property. The men walked off with the rental items and also took a bin left over from my event filled with soda and beer. When I called to complain to the company, the manager, Barbara, did not speak with me. I was told she had to investigate and would get back to me. I called back a day later and demanded to speak to her, she was not helpful, said she was sooo busy and actually acted as if her men could not possibly have done this. I explained to her that there were two bins left outside. One was empty and the other was filled. The empty one was left and the only people who came on my property were her workers. She promised after an investigation she would get back to me. One week later and she has still not called me back. This company obviously does care if they have people who would steal working for them. NEVER AGAIN! read more
