These kind of shops you can spend some time just looking at the neat things they have, and this shop did not disappoint! There were tons of unique things to see as well as old items for the people who like the vintage stuff. It is a cute shop and we enjoyed walking around. Of course we were not looking for anything and did not find anything but if you collect items or were looking for something in particular you may just find it here. The woman working behind the counter was friendly when we walked in and even made conversation with us before we left. We would for sure stop back some time especially if were looking for something that may catch our eyes! Well worth checking out this place if your close by!

I was a friend of Marta Becket's for more than 30 years, and was completely enchanted by her…read moremagical world of the Amargosa Opera House & Hotel. I saw many caretakers over the years, some who done her wrong, and some who wrong was done to by others with so-called 'good intentions'. I visited frequently, typically several times a year, even flying in from the Middle East to visit her. I had seen every show, often many times, and they were positively exquisite. 'On With The Show' was deeply autobiographical, and I would cry every time during the final scene where the lights would go down and she would dance in a white tutu under black lights. The hotel rooms were sparsely appointed but I never minded that. I would stay in the rooms that she had painted, which were truly special. The opera house is a masterpiece as Marta painted them lovingly with renaissance style paintings, giving her an audience when no one would come in the beginning. The opera house is a national treasure. I encourage all to visit for a tour! The people, who I won't name, that ran the opera house when she passed away were mishandling the funds, and she was delivered to the morgue with no money to bury her. I started a GoFundMe for Marta's services, which inspired the folks in charge to scrape funds together to pay for her cremation. When I attended the funeral I was told I was not allowed to share my eulogy, and resorted to reading it to people gathered in front of the cafe after one of the 'caretakers' yelled at me for creating a problem by starting the GoFundMe. Once again, Marta's magical world was in the hands of the wrong kind of people. It is a shame, and as a result, I will never return.

The building is about 100 years old, so that's to be expected. But I could care less about that. This hotel has more character and charm than any that I've been to. The decor, paintings on the wall, and homage to Marta Becket make it so unique. Visiting Death Valley was memorable, but staying at the hotel made it extra special. If I wanted a stay with all the amenities, I'd stay at a chain hotel and spend twice the price - but it wouldn't be as lovely or as memorable as this place. Btw, we visited the beginning of March 2024 and the cafe was closed.

The fun begins when you walk in and hand sanitizer is forced on you, because everything there is so…read moresanitary. There are 4-5 women at the entrance who are the equivalent of Wal-Mart greeters (Gestapo). When this was just a periodic rummage sale, it was an okay place to shop. Now that they're open once a week, they've become greedy. I went up to pay and waited patiently while the Gestapo carried on a conversation and ignored me. When a gentleman walked up behind me, they all jumped to help him. Five old women and an unaccompanied older man=Senior Dating Game. I was invisible. Ooh! This man was donating an extra dollar! Please wait while we honk the bike horn! The gentleman left, and I was finally acknowledged: "What do you need?" Well, I guess the two records in one hand and money in the other did not tip her off. That, and the fact that I had been standing in front of the cashier for five minutes. They used to charge 25 cents for vinyl records. Today, each of their OLD vinyl records had a note with an eBay price on them. I picked out two 45rpm records, expecting to pay 50 cents. When I went to pay, the lady told me $3 each. I told her I thought the notes were from someone's yard sale leftovers. She said no, those were their prices. I told her they weren't worth it and handed them back. This was very similar to my previous visit there, so I won't be back. Ever.

The men at the front counter were both very pleasant and not only told us everything was 50% off but welcomed us to look around even if we weren't planning on buying anything. Both guys were happy to answer any questions we had. Shopping here was a very pleasant experience.

There is minimal shaded area...I mean, imagine minimal and it's even smaller. I think 10 pool chairs (not lounge chairs) fit there...maybe less. There's plenty of seating, just not in the shaded area. 2. The lifeguards are on top of things. Score! 3. The pool isn't heated but you don't need that in June. It's Vegas weather...so the pool is 'naturally' heated in June. ;) 4. Locker rooms are clean 5. Parking is easy 6. No diving board 7. They have a 'baby' pool for the little kids This was a fun activity for my kids and myself when we went to visit family. Recommend!

We came out here for the 3rd Annual Pahrump Balloon Festival, and it was a fun time! Small town…read morefeel, Lots of air balloons dotted the sky, and a carnival was part of the festivities. Also part of the festival was a vintage car show in the far parking lot, and what a cool sight to see! Who knew that Pahrump was a hot bed for vinyage cars????? The majority of entrants were locals from Pahrump, with a few coming from nearby states, but just hearing the owners talk shop about their "babies" was great. One owner had a collection of 5 cars in the car show, and every one of them were in such pristine condition! We perused the various vendors that were also on hand and also kicked it with some of the animals that were there too. Very cool place to relax and unwind while exploring Pahrump.
