This place is a one stop shop for groceries, snacks, and then some. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all of the baked goods. I bought some whoopie pies and a plate of cherry danishes. There were so many options that I look forward to going back to try. The deli was another highlight of my stop. ordered the Cajun Lightning sandwich and it was so good. The meat was stacked a mile high. I wished I had someone to share it with. There's an endless amount of premade sides, like potato salad, pasta salad, egg salad, etc. I picked up some potato salad to pair with my sandwich. Everyone working there was very friendly. In fact, I'm on my way home now from the Ozarks and will stop by here to pick up more Amish butter (yum) and some oat bread that went exceptionally well with the butter (double yum). This is one of those places you just want to walk around and say I wish i had a food storage place like this store, there are so many choices and so many different items for sale and prices on homemade stuff isn't that bad, rolls by the dozen, and tase great. A deli that you order stuff eat it and take a box for the leftovers get a drink eat candy or salad i mean, and then pay for after your all done. Wow can I ramble. I really like this store and love the service they give. Of and while your there the restrooms are spotless, I mean come on why are not all stores like this. We have been coming to this place since we were kids and it was still a little store inside a small house and everything was added up with paper and pencil. They've expanded and grown considerably since their beginning. They now offer fresh sandwiches (great value and so fresh!) and operate a little more like a regular grocery store. We have always loved buying the lug of frozen cherries, so that we have a readily available stash for whenever we want a homemade cherry pie! Any time we're near this store, we can't resist stopping in, and usually buy much more than we planned. Today we were driving home from Kansas City to St. Louis, and stopped for lunch. BEST. Here is the real deal Amish food place. They have lots of interesting stuff, even honey-comb honey, along with a bunch of stuff imported from Pennsylvania, where all the Amish food stuff seems to come from these days. Bags of Bay Leaves are usually $.90 a bag! 1 QT Coconut Oil is only $4.97! 3 QT's was around $12. You just gotta compare prices. Homemade breads, jellies, fudge...to die for! Lunch anyone? Fantastic, humongous sandwiches made any way you like 'em. Better be hungry -- the sandwich is big enough to feed two people. But I ate it all anyway. Fresh lettuce and tomato, probably 1/3 pound smoked turkey breast, mayo, and ... I don't remember what else, but it sure was good. Bulk foods? We bought a 50-pound bag of wheat that when ground into flour will have cost me half as much as at the grocery store I used to go to to grind fresh whole wheat flour. Our flour mill (bought elsewhere) will pay for itself within three months. Great selection of foods to choose from. My only change would be that their bulk spices be in bottles that I could pour as much as I want into a small plastic bag like other bulk food stores I've been to. If you go through Tipton in your way to the lake of the Ozarks from Kansas City, you have to stop here. Not only do they have candies and cookies and other baked goods, they have cheeses and sausages, jellies and produce, they have a little deli in the back where you can get get fresh made sandwiches. Today My husband and I shared the "toasted" Cajun lightning sandwich on their delicious homemade white bread. I wish I would have had my own. Now, I can't wait to go back for another one. I am not sure if they are Amish or Mennonite, but they have great prices and delicious food. They also have beautiful outdoor furniture and plants for sale.
