The tenderloin sandwich well executed with a seasoned crispy breading covering a pork loin slice pounded out to 1/4" thickness about twice the size of the bun. That's consistent with the standard in this area, first done by the Smith family of Smith's Restaurant now 5 or 6 miles South on Hwy 13. The fries were absolutely perfect, fries to order, sprinkled with a seasoning that's really very good. Don't skip the fries!

The restaurant has plenty of seating inside, creating a cozy vibe for enjoying your food, plus there are easy to-go options for those on the run. We can't wait to go back for those amazing million-dollar pickles and a bunch of delicious Amish baked goods that are simply unforgettable. The homemade blackberry pie paired perfectly with our homemade ice cream at the lake. On our last visit, we treated ourselves to a freshly made chicken quesadilla that was loaded with flavor and paired perfectly with some zesty salsa. The chicken wrap was just as good, packed with juicy grilled chicken, crunchy veggies, and a tasty sauce, making it a meal we couldn't get enough of. So much better than fast food options and supporting local!

First and foremost, the deli here is nothing short of amazing. I always get the BLT, and it never disappoints. The bacon tastes incredibly fresh, and the produce on it is just as fresh. I also love to add their jalapeño cheddar cheese--so flavorful! A few jalapeños for an extra kick, and it's perfect. Another highlight for me is the bakery. The service is great and their banana bread is one of my absolute favorites--moist, tasty, and often fresh out of the oven. This market has so much to offer: * Fresh produce * Bagged candy, all packaged neatly with an Amish-style retail vibe * A variety of unique items to explore Next door, there's even a plant shop with a beautiful selection of plants, adding to the charm of this spot. The parking lot is huge, making it easy to stop by. It's handicap accessible, so there's nothing to worry about when it comes to accessibility. All in all, this place is a gem, and I truly love stopping by every chance I get!

Peanut butter pie was so good! The peanut butter part was light and creamy and the crust is always good in their pies! They're all always very nice, friendly and helpful, and I just love going in there. I wasn't sure if the deli would be open when I got there at 8:30, but they open at 8 with the store, so I was very happy about that.

Made from a longtime, several generation, handed down book of recipes. Sarah helped her aunt Olive mix and make up the different items. Long ago I use to visit this farmers market weekly as I was in the area weekly for work. I was disappointed today to see only three vendors (unlike the past they had lots of vendors), but hey fresh tomatoes and fresh bread to go with dinner, how could I go wrong. In the past I purchased items from the Knaus ladies every time I went to the market. My last trip to this market was two years ago. Unfortunately two weeks in a row I received stale bread. I purchased bread the second week believing the stale bread was an error in stock rotation because I had always had good bakery items from the Knaus ladies. Fast forward...dinner's ready, my husband took a bite of the bread and said, "I see they are still peddling stale bread". One bite later and I had to agree - STALE. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Hopefully others are having better luck with their bread purchase from this vendor.

They now have a specialty coffee bar, I've never tried, as well. Every store in Sedalia has certain strengths and weaknesses. Wood's strength is their produce department. Their vegetables and fruit are usually very fresh and there is a large selection of basic products. Meat department is average with what you find elsewhere in Sedalia. Steaks vary from tender to moderately tough and most are a bit bland. The rest is your basic no frills grocery store fare. There was a time I bought whole roasted chickens from their deli regularly but now they seem to have a bad habit of not being completely cooked. I've also found fried chicken breasts raw at the bone. Few things are worse than eating a few bites of chicken to ultimately find a bloody center. It's simple, check your temperatures and cook times regularly and periodically test your product. These issues could make people very sick.
