Yesterday we stopped at Hampton meats to get a few steaks and some hamburger, and the first thing that I noticed was that the meat is higher than Whole Foods at Whole Foods in Green Hills Nashville. But it's not grass-fed. When we got home, we fired up the grill, my father-in-law cooked some steaks, and he knows how to cook steaks. They looked great, they were tough as nails. OK. I'll let that pass because it happens sometimes. But today, when my husband went to the refrigerator to get out the hamburger, it was grey. I'm attaching a few pictures. (Please note that the iPhone doesn't truly show how gray this meat is. It seems to have added a little bit of color, but this stuff was grey ) Needless to say, the whole family was a little irked, and if I did live here, I would never go back. This meat is horrible, overpriced, and only God knows how old it really is. One more complaint is the girl at the deli counter. I don't know if she didn't wanna work on Christmas Eve day, but she had an attitude that put me right off. She acted like it was a big pain in her fat butt to slice a few pounds of cheese for me. And while she didn't throw it on the counter, she certainly didn't put it down nicely and she didn't say thank you.
