The selection of food is small but it tasted good especially the mashed potatoes, the BBQ pork, and the fried chicken. The food selection felt like back when I was in elementary school but better since chicken and noodles was on the line when I visited. The line to get the food can get long during peak hours, but the dessert selection had plenty of pies to choose from. This is an Amish buffet. If your momma was a good cook this food will taste very familiar. It's a no fuss restaurant. You come, fill your plate and pay about 18 per adult... if you leave hungry it's on you. There is no menu. You just choose from selections that do not change much and all of it is included. The bbq pork is simple but good requiring no additional sauce. The fried chicken is tasty and simply made. There are chicken noodles that are as good as you have ever had. The mashed potatoes are buttery soft. The desert bar presents a Sophie's choice of deserts but you can take as many as you can eat. Leave the calorie counter at home it is not meant for this place. The ambience understated and plain as is fitting for the Amish. The staff is friendly. There are no waiters. You serve yourself. Good, simple and delicious food is on offer here, nothing else. A small Amish Buffet. Lots of comfort food your Grandma made. The rolls, roast beef, creamed corn and noodles were just wonderful. Didn't like the shredded lettuce on the salad bar, but the Waldorf Salad and other cold salads I have not seen in a while were great. And you just have to hit the dessert bar. You do it all. We skipped the salad bar. Shredded lettuce like you use for tacos seemed strange. Mashed potatoes, 2 kinds gravy, butter beans, really good cream corn, green beans , sausage n Sauerkraut, and then chicken. At first the chicken coating was soggy from being in warmer. Next batch we got was alot better and more crispy. Simple, Home cooking. Sweet tea was good. Desserts are what it's about! Saucers full of different cakes to choose and pans of cobblers. I had Pecan pie and choc cake and tried the Strawberry Rhubarb cobbler. Guessing I'm not a fan of Rhubarb. Truly good desserts! Ok, the pieces were small ! I know what your thinking. Hubby & I stopped in to try the Dutch Pantry while driving thru the town. We were immediately greeted by 2 very friendly ladies and told it was a buffet and could sit anywhere. Our table and the surroundings were very clean. They had a nicely stocked salad bar with fresh veggies and also included several pasta and noodle salads. The meatloaf and BBQ chopped beef were delicious. The fresh yeast rolls, green beans and creamy mashed potatoes were perfection. My husband also very much enjoyed the pinto beans. The true star of the meal were the almost endless selections of pies, cobblers, and cakes; mouth-watering! We also bought a sugar-free apricot pie to-go and some Amish noodles to cook at home. Price was about $16/person, but that included the beverage and the desserts...which puts the entree and salad bar at less than $10. ( not misspelled I totally am in Awe) coconut pie, chocolate pie, cherry pie, apricot pie, peach pie, lemon pie, pineapple coconut pie, several cookie options, chocolate cake, pumpkin bread, cinnamon buns, banana pudding. Blackberry cobbler, strawberry rhubarb cobbler,peach cobbler and soft serve ice cream all you can eat! So here was my strategic plan, I got a bowl and put one scoop of all 3 of the cobblers in the bowl and put soft serve ice cream in the middle. Then I brought my favorite pies to the others at the table and charged a bite tax for my service. It was a good idea until I had to be rolled out the door. The ambiance is giving "Nana has too many grandkids to feed"but you won't care once you take your first bite of those rolls. Oh those rolls! The staff only replenish the food at the buffet and cash you out so if you want a second helping or drink refill you serve yourself. You won't care because no one will be judging you for gluttony this way. Stop by every day because the buffet offerings change . They have catfish on Fridays. & Monday is Turkey & dressing but I can't remember the other days but I am sure it's all good. They also serve breakfast in the mornings, Rumors are it's pretty good too with waffles that will have you coming back. Many desserts to choose from but i like the cinnamon cake...husband likes the pecan pie....the charge for buffet was $15.00 ... and i added on the take home rolls for $8.00... if they could stop have the busboy with the dirty dishes in a cart next to you as you eat, i would give them another Star. I'll start with the negatives first. The buffet bar is surprisingly small and the restaurant is in need of a good remodeling. The fried chicken was piled up, cold and dry. They should try making the chicken in smaller batches. There was also no Mac and cheese on the buffet. My 6 year old was devastated... That being said, the rest of the food was cooked beyond perfect! I could have stayed and ate the chicken and noodles all day! Seriously! The mashed potatoes, Dang! The cream corn, yum freaking yum! The bbq pork, so tender and sweet! I was born in a northern Indiana town that was highly populated by Amish. So I know good Amish food. This place nailed it! The noodles tasted like the fresh Amish style noodles by Mom and Dad used to make. Brought me back like that scene in Ratatouille. Now the pies! They had a great assortment. Some pies have a very dry and flavorless crust. Not these pies! They were moist and had the perfect hint of sweetness. Don't expect a ton of flair in terms of what you would get at other places but that's not a problem for me. They are one of our two spots for a good day trip, nice hot meal and some pies here then we follow it up with a walk through the Cheese House across the street. The staff were nice enough to help me get a peanut butter pie home for my SO as a surprise. I've yet to find anything in there I don't like, it's all just classic good home food. So today I took my family to Dutch Pantry for the lunch buffet (3 adults and one senior). The price for this meal was $71.42. The salad was fair. So what was on hot food line? Pulled pork in bbq sauce, pinto beans, corn muffins, sauerkraut with an almost tasteless sausage, creamed corn, meatloaf, green beans and yeast rolls. The combination of food being served seemed odd and from what I've eaten (I have family in Amish country in Ohio and Pennsylvania) not super authentic. However, I'm no expert on northeastern Oklahoma "Amish" cuisine but the overall combination didn't really work for me. The sauerkraut and green beans looked and tasted canned. The bbq was watery. I've cooked a lot of bbq in my life. This seemed thrown together. No smoke on the pulled pork, and the only flavor came from the sauce. The meatloaf was fair (and that's being generous). Way too much bread in this for my taste. The creamed corn was fair as well. The one thing that saved this from being one starred was the yeast rolls. They seemed to be the one thing that was authentic and care went into making those rolls. In terms of ambiance I really don't have much to say other than drab, and lacked charm. Again, it appears that not a lot of effort went into the appearance of the restaurant. Not inviting or lively: think more along the lines of institutional dining hall and that would paint a better picture. The deserts (bakery to the rescue again) were good. The egg custard was honestly good with a flan like texture. My son had the cobbler and it looked like proper cobbler, which is amazing. I would recommend the bakery. The baked items tasted like they came out of a Grandmother's oven. The people that made this know about proper baking and have enough care to make basic ingredients shine. I absolutely do not recommend the restaurant. Paying $71.42 is insulting for the overall experience; the bakery not withstanding. If a business wants to charge a premium price: have a premium product. Dutch Pantry clearly misses the mark. read more

Dutch Pantry is one of those extremely unassuming places that is way better than you'd expect. If it wasn't for the multiple vehicles always parked out front abt any day of the week, you wouldn't think to stop to eat at what looks like a glorified shack, across from the bright and well painted Amish Cheese House across the street. (Also worth a visit!) Ignore the unpainted wood siding, the bland cafeteria like interior, and the ramshackedly assembled clutter of containers holding various midwestern style salads in the salad bar. Pretend you are at a church pot luck. No one come here for the ambience, but people come in droves for the food. Don't come expecting stroopwaffles, this place is Dutch in the sense of Penn Deutch, because it's at least partially run by Amish and Mennonite people. You'll need a plate for the salads alone. Grab a scoop of each one and see what you like, you can always go back for more. Their apple ambrosia type salad is probably my favorite, black eyed peas, potato salad, their homemade spiced beets (which you can purchase in their store--spiced like cinnamon and cloves), even their jello salad is good. Fresh doughy dinner rolls. Then grab another plate for their amazing green beans with bacon, their Amish chicken noodles (just ok here tbh), creamed corn, mashed potatoes and white gravy. If they have sauerkraut and sausages, that is probably my favorite entree of theirs. Their fried chicken is usually disappointing unfortunately, but their BBQ is good. But then comes the pies. Ah, the pies! Too many to choose from, and all excellent. They even have several sugar free options. The standards are all good (apple, berry, chocolate cream), but this is a good place to try ones you can't find everywhere else: egg custard, raisin, pineapple coconut, strawberry rhubard... They have a little store with great jams and jellies, local honey and sorgum, the aforementioned pickled beets, and whole pies to take home. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area, or a nice afternoon jaunt from Tulsa. Lots of great antique stores in town, too. read more

We both like the salad bar because the lettuce is chopped up very fine & doesn't have spinach or kale in it. The salad bar has a variety of choices to choose from. The special of the day was Meatloaf & Catfish. I liked the meatloaf because it was very moist & didn't have any strange topping on it. We both are picky about our meatloaf & joke about it whenever we go out to eat & see it on a menu. I didn't try the catfish because I don't eat catfish but a lot of people were eating it the day we went. There was also ham on the buffet, mashed potatoes & gravy which were all good. There are a lot of choices on the buffet for even the pickiest eaters. The yeast rolls are so delicious & remind us of the rolls our mom & grandma made all the time. We both tried the chocolate pie & it was delicious. There are SOOO MANY desserts on the buffet it's hard to pick just what you want to eat. I asked one of the girls where the watermelon came from & she said it was from a local farmer in the area. It was ice cold, bright red without seeds. The best kind to eat. It reminded us of the ice cold watermelons our grandma used to grow when we were growing up, it was that good. We went to eat late on a Friday afternoon & there were quite a few people eating but the line went quickly. We are looking forward to visiting again. The parking lot was full around 5:30 but there were enough tables for everyone. It's a self-serve buffet, which is not ideal in a "post"-covid world, but there were gloves and hand sanitizer at the start of the line. I can overlook it considering how delicious the food was. Homestyle mashed potatoes, hominy/creamed corn(? Whatever it was, I wanted to take a gallon home), bbq pulled pork, fried chicken wings, green beans, and sweet rolls. I can't remember the last time I sat down and just shoveled my entire plate into my face without looking up. But that's what happened here. For dessert, we tried the peanut butter pie, blackberry cobbler, and some excellent banana pudding. It's a little off the beaten path, but it's absolutely worth the drive. We used to drive from Muskogee to eat here but after today, we won't even stop going through. Breakfast was horrible!! There is nothing good to say. Eggs had sat for hours and were cold and hard and sitting in water, the gravy was cold, EVERYTHING was cold and the biscuits were cold and had d as rocks! This was the second time, recently, we came here for breakfast and decided to give it one more chance. They can't use the excuse they were transitioning to lunch, because we came early last time and it was just as bad. They were rude when we asked if they could fix eggs to order and was told only on weekdays. It's not like they were busy because the dining room was empty. We already started going to Country Cottage in Locust Grove for lunch and dinner because the quality for those meals had already started going downhill and country cottage is amazing. My husband & I stopped, on our way to Missouri from Muskogee , to eat breakfast & I'm not a picky eater at all but it was so bad I could hardly eat anything! The biscuits were hard as rocks, the gravy was cold as ice, and the eggs were so rubbery you could have bounced them off the wall! On top of everything they are very unfriendly to strangers! I go here once to several times a week. Always yummy and always have great service. The buffet is always clean and filled. Besides when I accidentally make a mess dripping from the serving spoons. ‍ They always clean it up pretty quickly though. Very recommended just if you go be kind a wait your turn and don't cut in front of someone else, don't crowd the person in front of you, and wear the gloves they provide to keep everyone safe. We sadly moved away from the Lancaster PA area and I've missed Amish home cooking ever since (well, to be honest my cholesterol has dropped substantially)) and have been in a quest to find great cooking ever since. The quest is OVER! This unassuming restaurant is right on the highway and I stopped for breakfast. Dutch Pantry is every bIt as good as any I have ever had anywhere. Home fries, hashbrowns, eggs cooked to order, bacon, sausage, french toast, real gravy and the best biscuits this side of heaven with homemade jams & jellIes.
