Looked at pics on Yelp before going here, but pics don't do this place justice. The buffet is homemade salads, meats, potatoes, etc. AND there's a dessert buffet!! I'd estimate a dozen pies, plus cakes and cookies (including sugar free desserts). Everything was fresh, made from scratch, and delicious. It's no-frills with a friendly staff. Best part (aside from the dessert buffet) was the man restocking glasses and helping in the kitchen. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy his work and smiled at everyone. Terrific. If you like homemade food, this is the place. All one price: meal, drink, salad, and dessert. It's how we cooked in the south in the good O' days, before fast food and eating healthy. The reviews are correct... You pay the adult price if you only eat one helping, but how is that different from any buffet? The green beans are chock full of bacon and onions and "cooked down", southern style. Every thing we ate was fantastic. My daughters raved about the meatloaf. I had bbq beef and fried fish. Old diner chairs and Formica topped tables are run down, but very clean. If you don't want food, it's worth it just for the dessert buffet. I'm not joking. The desserts are to die for. Don't expect gourmet anything, but it IS all artisan quality. Update: We stopped here again yesterday on our way through town. They closed two minutes after we got there (New Years Eve). Although they didn't put anything new on the buffet, they didn't make us feel rushed or hurried. An elderly couple came in a good 20 minutes later, she with a walker, he with a cane, and the workers helped them get their food from the buffets, served them drinks and were so very, genuinely kind. They never rushed any of us feel rushed or as if we were in their way. They quietly began cleaning and putting things away. read more

The dessert bar is great, and sometimes I'm tempted to only skim through the main course and jump straight to the dessert bar. You can take some of the desserts home as well, as I enjoyed some of their peanut butter (crunchy type) cookies at home later. They have a different main course each day. Five stars is unusual for a rating from me, especially since I'd give the food about 3.5. But the desert bar I'd have to rate between a 6 and 7. It truly is an amazing collection of homemade pies, cobblers, and bread pudding. Pies Included coconut, lemon, peach, blackberry, blueberry, pumpkin, and who knows what else. All made fresh with simple ingredients. I make my own coconut pie at home and had yet to find one that could match it. Most are just too overpoweringly sweet. This had just the right flaky and buttery crust, a not too deep layer of sweet coconut custard, and a nice topping of whipped cream. I picked up a blackberry pie to take home and look forward to making the trek back out. Just remember, take it easy on the food bar and save room for a few deserts! read more

This unassuming place just off the highway in a small Oklahoma town is a perfect find for people on a road trip or for Tulsans looking for something different. It is run by the Amish, so it is a low-tech, no frills, no decorations, totally basic type of restaurant. It is great, home-made country cooking, served buffet style out of steam tables with no effort made at all to dress them up or camouflage them. One look around at a restaurant full of locals and regulars will assure you that you are in the right place though. I should also mention that people come from miles around to buy their pies. They make a ton of different pies (3 different types of rhubarb pie alone). Before holidays you will have to order them days in advance. We got 3 of them last Thanksgiving on our way out of town and I saw a glimpse of their back room in which there were hundreds and hundreds of pies waiting to be picked up. We were hungry and wanting something more than fast food on our trek from TX to WI. We swung into this place not knowing what to expect and were pleasantly surprised by their small breakfast buffet. Typical offerings and eggs cooked to order. I didn't love everything, I found the gravy for the biscuits to be very very sweet and the hashbrowns were of a very gooey, strange texture. BUT, overall the offerings were tasty. Good breakfast meats, nice little waffles, cottage cheese with a variety of toppings. Very friendly, basic dining atmosphere. This place is buffet only. What a great find! The previous reviewer was right - very unassuming and functional dining area full of locals coming in from a morning of hunting or work. And very friendly too! The food is very fresh with a good selection for the salad bar. The entrees and sides apparently change from day to day and is always like simple good home cooking. Then there is the dessert buffet...what a selection! All that we sampled, pies and cobblers, were just made, not too sweet and full of flavor. We bought two to take to family for Christmas (and snicker doodles too). We were told the owners were going to renovate in the next week or so and a little freshening and updating would be nice. The inside of this place doesn't match the outside. It was very uncomfortable to sit inside. It felt more like sitting in an abandoned nursing home than a restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the servers are very friendly but the atmosphere is just awful and boring. The prices are also very high for the food. 35 dollars for 2 plates and the food wasn't good at all. No flavor in anything and most of the food was liquids and only one option for a meat that had no flavor. It isn't very sanitary either. The restaurant is very simple, the food is also simple, but extremely comforting. The quantity is basically and all you can eat, which is a dying way of doing business. I liked their sign at the start of the food line which reads something like this "take all you want that you can eat, and you can go back for more" shows a very frugal way of looking at life, but one that I grew up with. My young family of five (mom, dad, 7yo, and twin 3yo boys) we're on a road trip and stopped here on a whim. The sign was half burnt out and it seemed a little suspect. When we arrived, the place was packed but there was a TON of seating in three different rooms. We stood at the door for awhile before seating ourselves. The decor is non-existent and a greasy-spoon feel. I almost didn't want to stay based on the funky/weird LED lights that made everything glow blue. There were shelves and shelves of homemade and canned goods for sale. As for the food- It is buffet only with home-cooked, American-style food. Friday night was meatloaf and fried catfish. The dishes are all mismatched but there were a TON of them available. There's a salad bar with the usual trimmings, a number of cole slaw type salads, peaches, jello, etc. On the hot buffet there were AMAZING rolls, cornbread biscuits, creamed corn, green beans, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, warm ham slices, meatloaf, catfish, and a couple more dishes I don't remember. There was a fountain soda machine, teas, plastic or styrofoam cups with lids/straws, and an epic dessert bar. Probably 20 or more different pies, cobblers, cakes, and even sugar free cookies PLUS a soft serve vanilla ice cream machine. The Texas sheet cake may have been the best I've ever had. My husband made note of how often and quickly they kept the buffet food coming. The best part (outside of the cake!) was that it only cost $30 for our family since the twins were free at 3 and under. An EXCELLENT stop, and I would stop again. But man, I hope they can fix that lighting before then. read more

We ordered cinnamon rolls for a special event. I picked them up and had the opportunity to peruse the store. It has a wonderful selection. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Oh holy balls this place is amazing! It is the definition of comfort food!!!! This is not the place to go if you're on a strict diet...or any diet at all. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and some wonderful green beans are just some of the wonderful unhealthy things they serve at this buffet! And let me just tell you a little something about their dessert table...it...is...amazing!!!!
