Cabinets came out great. Took 6 months to be made in Indonesia. They were on sale but still expensive like that most of the furniture in the store but no one else had these quality items. Sales people are helpful during the purchase but not so much after when it comes to process if when the item will be completed for delivery. One of my items was damaged by delivery people but repaired for free by a lady near by who works for Dutchman's. read more

Went in prepared to furnish a new house, thought I would be there quite awhile. Asked for direction to rest room, was told to go down the street to Harris Teeter. They said it's basically too much work to kept after rest room with CoVid. So you will gladly take my thousands of dollars, but it's too much trouble to clean the rest room more often ?? Then stay closed. I wanted to support local business, but now off to a corporate store. read more

I so love to shop at Dutchmans! The beautiful furnishings, the uniqueness of their offerings, accessories, artwork-- it's quite the most pleasant experience! There is so much to see as the showroom is quite large and beautifully staged. I can't find the same experience anywhere else! Everything I've ordered is so worth the wait. Excellent quality. I moved to the Lake Norman area a little over a year ago.I wandered in this shop looking to furnish my new place on three separate occasions. I love the uniqueness of the pieces however I am not sure I will be back. I was interested in a few pieces but was never greeted or approached on all three occasions. The first time I took measurements of a piece and I went back and was interested in pillows and bedding. None of which were priced. I walked toward the three ladies at the counter who were too engrossed in conversation to acknowledge my presence so I left again. I didn't even get a thank you for stopping in. Wow ,I stopped in here walked around and didn't even get a hi , hello , can we help . I was looking to drop a couple grand on dining room sets . I was in there for 30 minutes and no help . Then, I walked outside and some girl was on the phone talking and watering the bushes . I said does anyone work here and she said yes , then walked away . Two other employees were busy putting a duvet cover on bed . I just kept walking around dumbfounded . They had cute stuff in there too . The store reminded me of a Anthropology store . Too bad it has Horrible customer service . I always feel bad when I write low stars but the owner should read this and review her business . If not she will probably be out of business .. read more

I walked in to Dutchmans this week to find something substantial for my wall, in a large master hallway. I was there for 20 minutes and not one employee greeted me and then I received snappy, rude response when I asked if they had something similar to what I described. Rude, rude, rude & oh yah, over priced!!!!! After reading these reviews over a year old - I know, THINGS HAVENT CHANGED, it's who they are as a business. BUYER BEWARE! VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ..which is what you will NEED from them! Their Bramble line of furniture is made in Indonesia. It takes 4-5 months to get (once ordered) and what you will likely receive is extremely poor quality for the high price you pay. The lack of properly finished wood, paint finish and cheap glass (to the point of being damaged) is appalling! The owner of the store, Stephanie Bramble, does not deliver what she promises. She cuts corners to save her time and money and has no intention of making the situation right. Some of the furniture is made in a factory and some in the Village - it's no wonder that colors and finishes do not match and have clearly compromised quality. Whether it's a re-order or a repair, the outcome is the same! The owner will then charge a 20% restocking fee on the ORIGINAL PRICE of the piece, even if purchased at a discount. The entire experience (which lasted the better part of one year) is exhausting, maddening, unethical and unprofessional. I never heard from my sales person (who was also a decorating consultant) at any time while I was going through this debackle. BTW... I paid $200 for her "expertise" and essentually got nothing from her. The store itself is nice. Many nice home decor pieces.. but now I know why it was always empty when I went in there. The prices are much too high and the staff have no real interest in showing their customers a good fuN experience that differentiate themselves from the competition. My advice; go to Home Goods, Wayfair, Hayneedle, Ballard Design or Pottery Barn and get what you're paying for. It will look BETTER then Dutchman's and you will never feel cheated, taken advantage of and extremely disappointed in the end. I didn't give up on my fight with Dutchman's. I did get my money back, less a pick-up fee of $100. It was appalling what I went through - I'll never walk in that store again! Good Luck. read more

So many beautiful living room vignettes and decor! Beautiful unique on trend coffee table books and cookbooks. Gorgeous botanical decor. I bought a lemon verbena French perfume and then when I got home I looked and the bottom said room spray!! I will wear it anyway...a very cute store I will go to when in the area read more

Upon discovering Dutchmans, I have to say I am absolutely hooked on this store! Dutchmans has everything you need to tastefully decorate your home. Our lake house was completely redone with high-end furnishings from Dutchmans, and I have to say I smile every time I look around each room! The staff has been so very helpful and friendly in assisting me on my selections, and I truly enjoy just popping into the store to get my fix on a weekly basis just to see what they added that may have a place in my home. And, I must add the delivery folks were so meticulous in unwrapping the furniture and setting it in place. Dutchmans -- you have my vote on being the most unique, interesting, and beautiful store with incredible staffing! read more

Very frustrating. I purchased a chair from this store. It was a base chair with a slip cover. After being sold on the ease of having a slip cover and not a full upholstery chair I decided that I'd go with the slip cover. Being able to remove it and get it cleaned or changing it out sounded like a good solution. Well not so much. Pulled off the slip cover brought it to my dry cleaners (who I have taken other sensitive fabrics to before and done a lovely job) to be cleaned and the fabric has shrunk so much I can not get the cover to fit properly. It looks like crap. I stopped by the store to discuss my displeasure and had to wait until the three girls at the desk stopped talking to each other and helping the one other customer in the store to even be acknowledged. Now after they have contacted the manufacturer of the fabric there is only a 1 year warranty on the fabric?! It's a SLIP COVER and by nature it is supposed to be easily taken off and cleaned, right?! The store did not even attempt to do the right thing and replace or suggest they can build a new slip cover for me at cost or any such solution. They just said "sorry". Well ladies SORRY doesn't work. I will NEVER SHOP here again and hope that you do not as well. Go back to standing around. read more

I recently moved to the area and stopped in to look at furniture for my new home this afternoon. I spotted an end table and a recliner that I thought would fit in nicely with my current pieces. My parents and I wondered around the store for about 20 minutes and were not once asked if we needed help or greeted upon walking in. What was even more upsetting was that we were the only ones in the store besides the two women behind the front desk. It was obvious the two women saw my parents and I but were more concerned with their own conversation to bother paying any attention to me. As a customer that was ready to purchase I was turned off and out of frustration I walked out of the store and left behind the pieces I was interested in. After this experience it is safe to say that I won't be returning and will take my business else where. read more
