I am an extremely loyal customer to both Consign On A Dime and Showplace 28. The reason being they have helped me manage my way through downsizing and subsequently upsizing various homes. The items I consign sell quickly due to the great staging that Allison and the ladies do and Heather's judgement on what she accepts makes for some great finds. I am so lucky, it seems. I search for an item and low and behold it shows up at one of the stores. You won't regret either consigning or buying. These two stores are among my favorites go-to's. read more

We have purchased a few items from Consign On A Dime - Furniture Consignment Boutique a few times and all went well. We decided to consign a piece of furniture after a most recent move. It was pretty simple and straightforward. The shop told us times that were ok for drop off. We had our movers take the piece to the shop after the move. Consign on a Dime confirmed receipt of the item. They sent us a contract and we discussed pricing over the phone. Having used consignment stores before I made sure to call to make sure we did not miss a pick up date. They let us know when the date would be. The item sold and we received an email a few days later saying that the item sold and a check would be at the front desk available for us to pick after xx date. Overall I am VERY happy with the process and would absolutely recommend for both purchases and consigning. I really like how active the store is on Instagram. You can easily view the walk through tours and they're super responsive on IG to questions. read more

Sister location for Consign on a Dime of West Catawba A bit more spacious and more orderly than Cosign of a Dime but still very good selection of furniture. Alas, they also had no desks as well. Same story that desks are an item that gets bought almost as quickly as they appear. It's in Shops on the Green which is a bit out off the main drag so with less traffic, you might stand a better chance of finding that items that you want. Give it a shot. read more

I had really good luck with this company ,not sure why other people had such bad experiences. I went in to get info on selling my year old furniture because we were moving out of state . She said send me pictures . Right away , i sent them and she quickly responded . She set up pickup and they came the next week . They are only looking for stuff in pristine condition, not junk . Most people think there stuff in nice but they don't realize they have tacky taste . This owner knows what sells in her store and who her clientele is . My stuff sold Within days to a week and I got a check right away . They are very professional and trustworthy. read more

Most items are over priced to me. You can find a deal once in awhile. I had a rather negative experience last week with a salesperson. When I asked about a table that had flaws and I was trying to figure out how to fix it, she got all hot and bothered and said very sarcastically "Well, it's priced accordingly", and then walked off. My wife and I have shopped and bought here since it started. Sad to say but there is a marked change over the last couple years. The way the store looked and the backroom was like being a scavenger hunt which was the experience was like finding a treasure. Now it is so organized you can stand at the door to the backroom and see everything there without walking it. There are very few pictures, nicknacks,etc. The furniture looks lie it's been moved from their othe location. It's just not the same. read more

Love this store and sister store Showplace 28. Everyone there is so helpful & lovely. I really don't understand the negative reviews. It's a consignment store: you snooze you lose. I lost out on some lovely items because I procrastinated. If you love it, grab it! They're very upfront about their hold policy. And they even let you try before you buy. Can't say enough positive things about these two stores. We just moved here from NYC, need tons of furniture at once, and these fine folks couldn't be more sincerely interested in helping us! I've dropped by several times and they have a nice selection of consigned furniture. You can find a little bit of everything at all price points. Prices go down at 30 days and then 30 more, so it's possible to hold out to save some money. Do so at your own risk, though, because items are priced fairly and seem to go quickly. So, I visited this consignment shop recently and was very disappointed in the type of items they carry. Most of the furniture was dark, huge, heavy and very outdated, but not trendy or retro. There was nothing unusual or unique. Left me wondering if this is a store that mainly serves to furnish short-term rental units? This was my third visit and I had the same opinion each time. Another thing that bothered me was that none of the employees had face masks on or were practicing social distancing in the middle of a pandemic. I felt that this was discourteous to customers, especially when just about all retail stores, groceries, etc. are masked up. There are other fabulous upscale consignment and resale shops in Charlotte area, but this is not one of them. I won't be returning. read more

Lots of pretty things here. I love browsing at this store, but be aware that the employees do not wear masks. I've been here several times over the past couple of months and the employees either have no mask on at all, or they wear it around their neck, not on their nose or mouth. read more

So happy we were told about this place. We recently moved into a new, larger home and have decorated it with so much from this place. Many of the items are very high quality and are selling for a fraction of the original price. The owners and workers will go out of their way to help and it is just a fantastic place to shop for a wide variety of items. Highly recommend them and encourage all to visit this store read more

The selection here was pretty great but the manager was EXTREMELY rude. First off she asks us (customers!) to move some chairs out of the way as she is moving a very heavy table. In response to someone asking if she had staff, she says she does but in summary we, the customers, could help her quicker than putting the table down and going inside. Next as we are leaving, the very nice lady at the front desk area is telling a man where to bring his stuff and here comes the manager with no "excuse me" and in the same rude tone says "I need you to come help me...now." Completely interrupting another CUSTOMER. Who, after that, should have brought his stuff elsewhere. Very pleasant girl at the front but extremely rude person in charge. Learn some manners! read more

I have shopped at COD and their other store, Showplace 28, repeatedly over the past 3 years. I have also shopped at many other consignment stores throughout Charlotte. My best experience continues to be with Consign on a Dime! The store is clean and well organized, the prices are fair for very high end furniture and quite reasonable for mid range items. If you know your manufacturers and designers then you have done your research. You get what you pay for. I have also consigned with COD and felt the price set for my items was fair. This is not a thrift store or Good Will. You will receive assistance when making design decisions by very experienced staff. I know these things because I worked there for almost a year and I can vouch for them. I also shop Estate Sales and the prices match up for the best deals in town! read more

Worst consignment shop I have ever worked with. I am a decorator and have brought them thousands of dollars worth of high end items. I have also spent a lot of money in this store. They have been nothing but rude and ungrateful. There are some employees that are kind, for the most part though, they seem agitated every time I bring them items. Not sure why.....?? Beware, no refunds at this store. Went to pick up a table for my daughter and before I could even examine it I was rudely told to back my truck up to the door 3 times in a row ! As it turns out the table would not work in her house so she wanted a refund. she was told no refund, you must take store credit. She did not want store credit for some thing she never took possession of. Seems like a rip off policy which is illegal in the first place. BBB to be notified. read more

I have been here several times and the selection is good but the customer service is lacking. I agree with the previous review, it appears to be the manager not the employees. I tried to purchase some patio furniture through one of the sales people which she was happy to assist with. When I went to pay at the register, the manager told us she was holding that furniture for another customer. The sales person commented that it had been 3 days and she thought the other person had decided against the items. We were then told by the manager that the other customer was a "good customer" so she would give her til the end of the day to purchase the item. She was also very rude to the employee. I also asked how long they would hold items for and was told their policy was 24 hours. The item had no hold tag on it. It did have a price tag on it that we agreed to pay. We were made to feel like crap and that since we were not deemed "good customers" in her eyes then we were not worthy to purchase the items. We left and will never go back. We also told several other family members and neighbors who shop there of our less than professional treatment. read more
