I can't say enough great things about her. When my kids have a doctors appointment, they always make sure it's with Dr. Durant because they like and trust her so much. Dr. Durant is warm, caring, patient, and funny. and goes above and beyond any other doctor I've been to. She's extremely thorough and when she sees something unusual she won't stop searching until she's found the answer. Whenever I see her, it doesn't feel like I'm seeing a doctor, it feels like I'm visiting a friend. I've got a complicated medical history, and she's always making sure I get the care I need. Sometimes I disagree with her suggestions, but when I voice my concerns she not only listens, she also does an amazing job explaining why what she's recommending is something she feels is necessary. She takes an extraordinary amount of time with her patients, and I never feel like she thinks I'm wasting her time when I keep her in the room longer than expected. I also love how accommodating she is. If my daughter has an appointment and there's something wrong with me when I take them, she's always willing to check out my issue after taking care of my kids. I love it because it saves me an extra trip and saves time. Dr. Durant is the best doctor I've ever had. Over the last six years I have been increasingly happy and impressed with my primary care physician but also with every other person from the person who draws blood to the nurses, the billing department, and specialists. My husband also has the same doctor and, sadly, he has had skin cancer, prostate cancer and full removal, a hip replacement, two knee replacements, lots of physical therapy, and some other issues. As a physician (a specialist who cares for very complicated patients), I know what constitutes reasonable billing codes and when to apply them. In early 2024, at my annual physical, I was billed a 99213--moderately complex office visit (=$89 after insurance); the billing department told me this additional billing was due to the doctor clicking on two refills for long standing, non life-threatening health concerns that were minimally mentioned at the physical. After that visit's billing, I discontinued those two medications. This year at my annual well health physical, I was again billed a 99213 (=$95 after insurance) despite not being prescribed any medication for any condition by this physician. This time, the initial billing employee told me the charge was due to my doctor's "co-management" of a chronic condition (for which I had seen my specialist two days prior and for which my primary was never involved in the care or coordination as I self referred). Then I was told that the additional billing charge was due to my occasional use of an over the counter heartburn medication and to discuss my cholesterol for which I do not receive any treatment. The Affordable Care Act of 2010 includes preventative health maintenance covered 100% by insurance. The providers at PCA and their billing department work very hard to find miniscule issues to levy additional charges for the patient +or insurance which is part of the vicious cycle (the medical-industrial complex) and contributes to ever escalating insurance premiums and patient financial harm.

The medical staff are always, without exception polite, professional, attentive and knowledgeable. Most recently, and I might add, for the first time in 30+ years I found myself in need of the emergency room. The staff were phenomenal! I was seen without any delay, the billing clerk waited until I was being seen and more comfortable before seeking the insurance information, etc., the nurses where more attentive that I thought possible, and the doctor did everything plus. Perhaps those who have been critical had bad experiences. A one-off is always possible. However, I would suggest they revisit the Aurora Medical Center again. I believe they will experience the care, professionalism, and kindness I did.
