I met with Patrick yesterday. It was for a nominal half hour consultation (which he offers through…read morethe Omaha Bar Association) but it went for more than that, as he asked intelligent questions about my situation -- I didn't even have to present the letter I had written to explain it. An employer had apparently bungled badly (if not worse) in a situation, involving a disability on my part that led to temporary problems, in which I was involuntarily dismissed. We discussed options frankly and discussed what was possible under my budgetary capabilities, and came up with a plan whereby I would address the employer proposing a rehire (since my manager and I were very close) and if that was denied from the company organs, who had bungled, then I would take "the other step." I appreciate the willingness to do that, because it is the moral and ethical way to go. Sometimes lawyers get a reputation for merely being "sharks" but this is not always fair. Used correctly and with conscience and with all reasonable steps taken first under advice, they can be an invaluable resource. They can give you confidence to try to do the better thing, knowing that competent backup is present in case that falls through.

I have had numerous versions of these throughout the years as I've moved a lot and had different family situations. During those meetings, my previous lawyers just knocked out a very cookie cutter package. During my meeting with Julia, she asked numerous questions and then provided multiple options for me to choose from. At each step, she very eloquently answered any questions I had and was able to explain the pros and cons to each option. THANK YOU!

When my family member passed away a year ago in Nebraska, I am very glad to have hired the AKC law firm to assist me as the depth of this legal team provided me with the expertise I needed to navigate this challenging process as easily as possible. Having an involved out-of-state financial institution initiate federal litigation over my family member's account was not easily foreseeable; however, having the resource of this firm's litigation team to address that federal court case in a timely manner was clearly a benefit of choosing AKC Law.  While most clients seeking help with a probate matter, which may appear simple on the surface, may fail to foresee the potential need for legal representation by a firm, as compared to a sole practitioner, my case is a good example of the rational advantages of going with a law firm. Sometimes it is impossible to foresee what challenges may arise in legal matters, and as I like to put it - having a team with a very "deep bench" behind you is worth it. I hope that other potential clients seeking representation will also see the advantages of these benefits and consider hiring Abrahams, Kaslow & Cassman LLP. I recommend them highly.

I had several lawyers prior to Cavanaugh and they were all terrible. Some didn't even know when I was denied! From the time I signed up with Cavanaugh to the date of approval with Social Security, it was only 2 months! They spoke to social security the same day I consented to them being my lawyer and helped me remove my previous lawyer from my case! (I couldn't even reach the previous lawyer). I had been going through disability denials and appeals for years. Everyone prior to Cavanaugh was completely inept. In my experience, it is rare that the process only took 2 months. Cavanaugh fought for me to receive the maximum back pay. Yes, they receive a % of it, but in my opinion, it is well-deserved! I even received my back pay within that 2 month period! Don't expect it to be only 2 months in other cases, but once you have submitted your information to Cavanaugh, you can rest assured that they are all doing their jobs! This might be the first law firm I have encountered in the Midwest that operates like a "well-oiled machine!" Thank you and well done, Cavanaugh! I couldn't be more grateful. My life has changed because of you!
