I'm not sure what's happening with Dwain's these days, but the service is nothing like it has been in the past. We had to have the head pulled on an engine because the spark plug blew up and part of the plug went into the valve. $4,500 later, we were up and puttering again for three weeks until the old radiator hose that Dwain's put back on instead of replacing blew and burned up the engine. Now, we're well over $10,000 cash on just one truck. Next trip, they misdiagnosed a head gasket to the tune of almost $1,000 and shot us the bird on any type of credit towards re diagnosing the problem. Just told us $4500 or there's the door. I just went ahead and bought a new engine from Ford. It was way cheaper than the one I ended up buying from Dwain's during the first round and it's a Ford engine. I'm sick to say that we once had unshakable faith in Dwain's. That's changed unfortunately. Either they've gotten too busy for those of us who helped build them into the business they are today or they've run their course. I'd like to think its just growing pains. I just can't afford to throw good money after bad waiting on them to get fixed. read more

Several thousand dollars in repairs and the car runs worse than when we dropped it off. After replacing the valve cover two bolt holes were stripped out and oil was leaking on the manifold creating excessive smoke. When the car was returned for service he wants to hose me for several thousand more in repairs. Mike is full of excuses and blames current issues on mechanic who repaired the car over 5 years ago. We've been going to Dwains for years and until recently would have recommended them to others. Unfortunately we have seen a massive drop in the quality of their work and lack of professionalism from the staff. My daughter recently had issues with her car battery and we took it to Dwains. In the process of "fixing" the issue they cut out her after market alarm system and messed up a whole slew of new things! She went because her battery light came on and left with no horn, two windows that no longer work properly, a dashboard light that keeps going out and her keyless entry is no longer working. Now they refuse to fix the mess they made! We've had some other concerns but trusted Michael and his crew for longer than we should have. Apparently that was a huge mistake. My husband is an airplane mechanic, so he knows the ins and outs of an engine. We are new to Edmond and took our Chevy in for a water pump replacement. We knew what was wrong with it and after a little research, knew how much we should pay for the replacement. Had another great experience here! Took my car to an automotive chain for an AC check and they said my blower motor and blower motor resistor was completely shot. I left, brought it to Dwains the next day. They informed me quickly that the resistor was out and the blower motor was completely fine. Charged me $200 and I had a fully working AC that afternoon! I have used this company quite a few times in the past without issue and I didn't hesitate about my son using them. I was shocked, surprised and extremely disappointed in the fact that they were trying to take advantage of a teenager. Saying valves and regulators were located in hard to get to spots when they are visible and in direct line of sight, that he needed to replace items that were brand new, and just giving him a real problem trying to pad their pockets. I have had service done with Dwain's automotive on two other occasions and was satisfied. This time I had to have my car towed there and dropped off at night. Their service representatives were very friendly and did keep in touch with me as they said they would. They made a special effort to get it done in a quick manner after I expressed to them that I work for a rideshare company I need the car to perform my job. They do excellent work and have not had to go back and have anything redone. They also let me know that my timing belt needed changing as I was at 160,000 miles. This was very important obviously because it should've been changed at 100,000 and I didn't even know I had a timing belt and it had been making noises when I started the car, so it was past ready to be changed- thanks Mike! Took our suburban in this past week. They seem to have a lot of experience with Chevy. Within a couple hours they had diagnosed the issue and had it back to us the next day. New spark plugs and tune up and running like a champ again. They communicate well and are very helpful. Some places you feel like you are annoying them with questions or calling them. They break it down and take the time to explain what is going on. Price seemed fair considering the excellent service and quick turn around. Wasn't so much that they threw a rod in my motor during a test drive, but that they wouldn't take responsibility and gave contradicting explanations...tried to tell me "it's just an old car, not our fault". We were THRILLED to find Dwain's! Our college daughter had a check engine light come on her 2005 Honda Accord ("Cylinder 5 malfunction"). We had a bad experience with a service advisor at the local dealer, so we turned to Yelp that night in hopes of finding a quality, honest repair shop. What a GREAT experience!! After getting majorly screwed at Kennedy Tire and Auto (see my posting), I took my car to Dwain's. The guys there are awesome!! They checked out my car and made me aware of what Kennedy's did wrong. They made notes about it all so that I had "evidence" and in the end fixed the car up right and charged a very fair price! I am VERY leery of automotive repair and very rarely feel like I'm not being had. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. I took my jeep in (which I inherited and it had had no work done to it in far too long) I told them I knew nothing about what was going on but I felt like it had a few issues. They spent extra time to research the changes that had been made on the jeep to make it more suited for off-roading to be sure what they were doing was right, they took a lot of time explaining it to me and answering all of my questions (and I had a lot of them). Their prices were very reasonable. Definitely a shop with a lot of integrity and that's very hard to find these days! I will be back for any future repairs either of my vehicles need!! read more

Great knowledge & customer service! I took my car into another shop for an A/C check and the other company said my compressor was leaking fluid and to fix it they would have to replace the entire system and it would cost $1,700. I took my car to Dwain's for a second opinion. Turns out my compressor was not leaking fluid and just needed a new clutch. My A/C now works perfectly for less than half the cost first told to me.
