I was visiting in Edmond and my BMW Z4 had a slow oil leak. I needed to return home to Virginia in four days and the dealership was backed up. However, they recommended Penn Automotive. I called and they set up an appointed the next morning. When I arrived, I was greeted by the most friendly and knowledgeable woman. I felt we had been friends for years. She told me what they would check and later she called to tell me what was required and the cost which was more than reasonable. When the car was ready she called once again and repeated the charge she had indicated before. Again, I thought the value for the repairs was less than I expected. It was some of the best advice I've ever received, and I've continued to bring my next three BMWs to him. He has saved me from several misdiagnosed issues, and he charges significantly less. It is to the point that I'm hesitant to purchase anything except BMWs because I worry I won't find another independent shop as good as Penn Automotive. Whenever I think about getting my car worked on at a dealership I am reminded of the Seinfeld episode where they are all stuck at Puddys workplace. "First they stick you with the undercoating, rust-proofing, dealer prep... Suddenly you're on your back like a turtle." So I asked around when I needed some work done on my late 90's BMW. Not only are they very cheap (about 30-60% off dealer rates!), but they have EXCELLENT service! The owner (Phen Ma) is extremely honest and he is also very funny. His assistants are great as well. They only take cash (which is why they their prices are so low), so make sure to plan ahead! They mainly specialize in BMW's but they work on Honda's as well. We have been using Penn Automotive for almost 4 years and would never take our BMW to any other mechanic. Yes, there is no posh coffee machine like the dealership but there is the most capable BMW mechanics in OKC. The staff and owner provide excellent service at a reasonable price. The staff never suggest services that are not due or uneeded. When you call you may have to wait a couple of weeks for service believe me it is worth the wait. read more

This place is absolutely garbage. It's dirty untidy and very uncomfortable like imagine what could happen if one of those homeless people thought it might be a bright idea to scratch somebody's paint well would you imagine that happened to me. It was scratched while it spent 2 MONTHS up there waiting for old phen to take a look at it and guess what he told me: BAD ENGINE NO COMPRESSION. Guess what it had 160 lbs of compression pretty weird huh so one night he called us being very hostile and refusing to admit he lied and proceeded to refuse to work on my car. Finally I took the car to Edmond motorwerks probably the cleanest shop I've ever seen and they had it fixed in just a couple weeks. The engine just ended up being slightly out of time. Now it runs great and phen probably still hates me lol, Anyway don't take your car here take it to motorwerks if it's anything that more difficult than simple to repair he doesn't have the knowledge to fix it read more

I took my bmw x3 for several maintenance issues. Phen is very expensive, maybe not as expensive as the dealership but, most people tale their vehicles to the dealership for repair if their vehicle is still under warranty due to the prices. I understand I have a foreign vehicle but, I feel like phen didn't not want to make the price affordable because there aren't a lot of repair shops who works on foreign vehicles.:Some of the most common repairs are, window regulator $350 1 yr warranty, oil change $85, timing belt $250, tires $300. his prices were outrageous. one good thing is he has a very detailed diagnostic machine to yell him everything wrong with your vehicle, well initially that's $75. read more

Fantasic service! The starter on my Toyota Tundra went out, so I googled Toyota mechanics in the area and Penn Automotive came up at the top with plenty of good reviews. Phen Ma, the owner, was there to greet me, and is a wizard at customer service. I owed the tow company $10 after my roadside assistance, but was out of cash. The towing service was going to charge me a $2.50 convenience fee to use a card which I had no problem paying, but Phen jumped in and paid cash to save me a miniscule amount of money. He then joked that he would charge me $50 for the interest, but of course he didn't. He got my truck repaired by the next day, and charged way under what the dealership would have charged.
