Pastor Allen came as new pastor for Vineyard of Anaheim and in few years he decided to disassociate from Vineyard and stole the property and land which is worth millions. If the pastor wanted to disassociate from Yineyard he should've started his own church. Thousands of lives were changed through Vineyard of Anaheim and for him to come and steal the property its not right. The board hired him as new pastor because he was suppose to serve as a Anahim Vineyard pastor. He eventually changed all the board members and made it into his own church. There is currently law suit from Vineyard association to take back the church property. What he did was not right. Many people who were influenced by Anaheim Vineyard have been deeply grieved and hurt by this Pastor. read more

Dwelling Pace was formerly the Anaheim Vineyard founded by John Wimber & Lonnie Frisbee. I made a visit. Beautiful church. Worship is great. Jeremy Riddle from bethel is the worship leader. The presence is there. The pastor (Alan Scott)has kind heart. I love how they are open to deliverance. The message was on Mark9. Not Ute what the fuss is about. Some people run from deliverance. If you want to just attend services, you will likely love the worship as resources are heavily dedicated to this department. The church also does good service work in the community. Alan Scott's sermons can be somewhat helpful, because Scripture stands solid on its own. But beware of his condescending attitude towards others and his stunted capacity to model to the church how to love another. Also note emotional manipulation. Of course, you will meet other lovely people here. My purpose in writing this review is a warning re: Alan and the need to protect the flock. He has exhibited numerous accounts of abuse towards congregation members and former staff (those who he got rid of when he arrived but also those he himself hired). Think, Mars Hill, and the troublesome aspects of church leadership there. If you don't get too involved you might be shielded. However, if integrity matters to you, and you don't want to align yourself with deceit and delusion, there are many other wonderful churches to attend. I am also particularly worried for the younger folk. Due to his negligence in considering the impact of his decisions on others, many young people no longer attend church. They experienced his misuse of power and disregard for the body of Christ. How confusing for them. Very sad for the damage caused by this man. Charisma does not equate to God's blessing. Big corporations are built by man (godly and ungodly) all the time. This review will be deleted if Alan Scott steps down. As someone who is coming alongside those traumatized by this man and his abuse of power, I cannot endorse this church with Alan at the helm. Also, be wary when people attempt to gaslight words of warning as hate speech. Review for The Dwelling Place: Over the years we attended Vineyard Anaheim, and a home group, when we would visit from Europe. We have attended once since Alan Scott was the pastor. When I heard what happened I remembered a couple of services I had watched on YouTube in early 2022. I had wondered if Alan Scott was going off into pride and deception. I liked his wife's worship, but usually skipped his sermons. Why not just let Vineyard find a new pastor and start their own church? They are stealing Vineyard's valuable property. To hopefully bring some balance to what seems to be a targeted campaign against this church: my husband and I have been part of this congregation and have served in various ministries here since 1995. We've experienced several transitions of leadership in our time here. The most recent with the selection of the Scotts as senior pastors. The search committee prayerfully asked Alan and Kathryn to lead Vineyard Anaheim. They believed this was God's will. Now, some of those same people disagree with the decisions that have come from this leadership and are responding in a way that is as worldly as what they have accused Alan of. The Scotts have said the Lord told them to disassociate this church congregation from the Vineyard movement. They are following the instruction and timing they were given by God. But people can't accept that as a reason. Those who are accusing and harassing the Scotts, yet also hold to a belief that God speaks to people personally today. But maybe that's only if they agree with what God is saying. It's interesting to me how offended we can be when God disrupts our comfortable lives. Ever take a look at the Old Testament prophets? God broke into their lives and disrupted them. How about the apostles? All but one died a martyr's death. I get the picture that God is in the business of moving people around strategically to fulfill His purposes and it doesn't bother Him if that makes us uncomfortable. In my experience with the Scotts and submitting to their leadership I find them to be people of integrity who fear God above all else. When you are around people like that, it's intense. We have seen and heard people say terrible things about them and this church. It's heartbreaking. As friends of ours have left because they were hurt by something or someone, or offended on behalf of someone, or because it was no longer the familiar, comfortable place they were used to, I grieved. I had to reassess why I am part of this particular body of believers. I'm still here because I follow Jesus and He hasn't told me to leave. When I asked Him "What now?" in March, He asked me "Who do you follow? A movement? A pastor? Or me?" No church is perfect. People who love and follow Jesus are still broken human beings. But God uses us in our imperfections. It's not like God didn't know this would happen this way. What if He did tell Alan it was time to separate Vineyard Anaheim from the Vineyard movement? People ascribe this decision to ambition or greed. Those are worldly motivations, but what if it's actually God's direction? It's shocking to me how much of the anger directed against this church is based on worldly values. "The assets" and hurt feelings. Whose assets are they? Last time I checked, they were God's. We tithe and donate to a church, and those gifts are no longer ours. We give to God and our giving should not have strings attached. We have such an entitled and consumeristic mentality towards the church. We come with a "bless me" attitude, and we leave reviews on Google or Yelp for a church like we would for a restaurant. If you are judging a church based on reviews, consider instead visiting the church, talking to people who currently go there, and asking the Lord where you should be rather than crowdsourcing. If you're a Christian, the Holy Spirit will make it clear to you where He wants you. Go there and get involved. The church is not an audience. It's an army, a hospital, a group of people on mission for God's kingdom. That is my experience with God's people at Dwelling Place Anaheim. That is why I am pressing in and loving on all to whom the Lord introduces me each week. There are new people each Sunday. This church is growing and the joy of the Lord is in our midst. read more

I make it a point to bring my family of 5 to this church each summer when we visit from Maryland to visit family. We've come for the last 3 years and each time we come we get touched by God. Last year my son was in the youth service and after service he let me know that he was touched by Jesus during the service and started crying. Today in service my high school aged niece (who we've been praying for) started crying during service because of the love of God. God is moving! I know there have been some issues recently due to separating from the Vineyard network, but if my family ever moved here to California I would without question join this church community. I am extremely disappointed that This church is No longer a part of the Association of Vineyard Churches. The focus and direction has changed from the founding principles. Anyone expecting a Vineyard experience may be disappointed. I am very discouraged by the way they left the Association of Vineyard Churches ..... I used to attend this church for a while. I loved how the older people were very involved in leadership, which I really respected. I met a lot of "grand-parent" types here and people I cherished. However, they have a new senior Pastor now who took it upon himself to hire a bunch of new staff and I guess make it more appealing for the millenial crowd, and the older generation is leaving. Its unfortunate that they've become more liberal and Bethel-Church-in-Redding like than they have the original Anaheim Vineyard with John Wimber. read more

I have been going to the church for the last 5 years and was even baptized here. Recently they brought in a new pastor and he has gotten rid of all of the other pastors. He even told them they are not able to attend their own church. This church is going down a very judgmental path and has be redecorated to be a very cold and unwelcoming place. So many people that have gone there for so many years are all leaving and finding other churches. It has become a very cold and unwelcoming place. The youth programme for elementary age kids has been changed and the youth pastors have been fired. Kids are being watched by adults not cleared with background checks. No very safe as they have had issues in the past. You may want to think twice before attending a church with pour values. My idea of a church is to serve Jesus Christ not a pastor or a corporation. This is a great church. Lead Pastor Lance is a wonderful man, pastor, and follower of Jesus. The history of this place is rich and God lead. The future looks bright, God is really up to something in our midst. There are great places to connect for kids, youth, college, young adults, young marrieds, women, men, and all sorts of people. You can't ask questions on character or decisions or they flow it up to Alan, the pastor. Corruption is only seen behind the podium. If you are the type to just show up to Sunday service and that's it, then you'll never know the dark history of Alan and the current board. They systematically remove anyone who has different opinions than Alan. I was greatly involved with this church that I grew up in, but with time I saw the dark side and it was not good. Using God's name so that you feel bad questioning leadership decisions makes you feel helpless. He says he's not about the numbers and then there's recordings of him displaying the opposite. It should always be about Jesus. Even with all the mistakes and immoral decisions, all I would want is to see humility. But he will never admit his fault in this. Just look up the article to see just a glimpse of his poor character. I hope and pray he sees new light and changes for the better, I really do. But I can't just do nothing. Great church with a solid history. John Wimber when he was alive was heavily involved in this church. They are charismatic. Not very traditionally Pentecostal however. They have a friendly feel. The church is very large. My fear would be that it might be hard to make close friendships here unless you worked hard at it and were very involved in a small group. Extremely rude man volunteer at the Wednesday food distribution center. He is the husband of another Spanish speaking lady volunteer. Why bother to serve to give food to the needy if you can't be nice. I had trouble unloading and lifting heaving and bulky food items from the loaded shopping cart so I was taking a little longer ( they might think), the man hit the back of my car with a long bumper post sleeve looking object maybe because I'm a middle eastern lady? I love the presence of the Holy Spirit at the Vineyard Anaheim. That's what keeps me coming back. The worship team is anointed and the preaching is Christ oriented. I was diagnosed with spondylosis which is degenerative osteoarthritis in my back. I had so much pain that I stayed home from church. My daughter went down to the alter in proxy for me as a call for those who needed healing in their backs was announced. As a result I was healed at home!!! Jesus is still healing from a distance! My parents have gone to this church since it met back at the gym at Canyon High (where I went to high school). John Wimber was a dear friend of theirs. Alan Scott is their new pastor. This place is not a healthy representation of the body of Christ. I attended this church the first 18 years of my life and saw more friends and family leave in painful excommunication or shamed away, than people coming in and getting saved. We used to go to Vineyard Anaheim 15-20 years ago but left because our experience was that it became less spirit-filled. However, a new pastor (Alan Scott) came on staff in early 2018, and we heard something wonderful was stirring here again. So we visited recently, and wholeheartedly agree! God is up to something at this church that is healing, renewing, and exciting, and it is energizing the body. We are now regular attendees. Alan is passionate for God, sensitive to the Holy Spirit, funny, down-to-earth, and not afraid to go for all that God has. The worship is wonderful, and Jeremy Riddle from Bethel Church in Redding just recently came on staff for worship! This Vineyard is the mother church of all the Vineyards out there. My family and I used to go to this church all the time, until we moved.. I remember when John Wimber was still with us and I really miss him. His style of teaching/preaching was really down to Earth, yet it wasn't at the same time. What I mean by this, is.. He had a way of explaining the supernatural that was easy to understand.. God would oftentimes move through him, yet he wasn't flashy whenever this occurred. Pastor Lance and other pastors there are equally gifted, but in different ways... But, I will always miss John Wimber. BTW, this church has 1,000's of members.. And as with large churches, there will always be a handful of nutheads and flakes who attend. You can always identify these people when they go on Internet and go out of their way to attack certain churches in a mean-spirited way. read more
