Was told by DX that they would issue a chargeback and it would show up at my bank within 2 days. It has been 8 days and still no chargeback. They did cancel the order but they kept my $345.00. Just don't like thinking I have been taken advantage of after spending more than $3500 over the past couple months there. I ordered a OptiBeam HF Directional Antennas OB11-3HD and 125 feet of DXE-213URC125 with Amphenol 83-1SP Ends on morning of July 6th 2026. The ship date for both were July 7th. The antenna arrived July 10th as scheduled. On the morning of the 9th the coax had not shipped so I did an on-line request to cancel that order because the same thing was available locally at HRO. Within a few minutes of requesting the cancellation I received a call and was told the item was going to be shipped that morning and they would upgrade it to overnight delivery. The order said that my credit card would not be charged until the order was shipped. I checked on the 9th and the charge had already been completed. Today is the 11th and the item has still not shipped. If they had been truthful and told me the actual estimated ship date when I ordered the item and on the 9th when they called I would not be writing this review. I am going to request another cancellation and request a chargeback. I have purchased other items from the company and did not have any major issues. Either way, if they allow the cancelation and chargeback or they force me to accept the product no matter what the ship date, I will never do business with DX Engineering again and I will advise others not to so. All they had to do was be truthful/honest but they chose not to do so. Avoid doing business with this company. read more

I've purchased a few things from DXE in the past, but when it came to putting up my roof-level ham antenna (after years of procrastination) I needed some quality items and, well, frankly a lot of technical support and guidance. And when I realized I was on my seventh version of my antenna plan, it meant reaching out to DXE for that support. I contacted their technical support people and Tom KB8UUZ responded with factual, real-world suggestions and ideas on how to make my plans (and results) even better. As such, I've recently ordered over $350 worth of antenna mounts, clamps, covers, utility enclosures, and feed-through panels from DXE and I couldn't be happier. I might have found some of the items cheaper elsewhere, but for the responsiveness of the shipping, Tom's at-no-cost technical ("Elmer") support, excellent user manuals with loads of suggestions and details, and a very functional website that makes searching and purchasing super easy, it was all money well spent. I even screwed up the tightening of my stainless steel bolts and nuts by not using the right lubricant...and summarily seized a nut on some threads. Oooops. I contacted Tom to find out what I did wrong and he and DXE were gracious enough to send me new bolts, nuts, and washers to replace the ones I had damaged. Now THAT'S customer service and some great support of the amateur radio community (and inexperienced roof-level antenna hams like me.) Yes, the antenna is almost up and connected to my radio gear but not quite. And when it is up, I have DXE and Tom to thank! On October 25 I ordered a fiberglass telescopic pole with the clamps / Gide rings. They shipped out the Fiberglass pole using FEDEX but shipped the clamps and rings using UPS. So today I receive the telescopic pole but as usual UPS has had a shipping delay and the clamps and rings will arrive four additional day from now.. Again Ordered as a kit but looks like there is more concern with them saving money (but I had to pay an additional $10.0 for shipping). Most likely be my last purchase with DX Engineering, very disapointed customer! read more

Just ordered from this company a Hy-Gain 5 element 2 Meter antenna. Upon arrival the carton it was shipped in was crinkled like it was left over box at their warehouse. The box was way oversized, but otherwise sealed. The product came in the box loose and rattling around. I opened the box and it was missing one of the mounting brackets. This irritated me, and then when I went to send it back the web site puts you through 3rd degree. Solution... don't order here. In the future use Gig a parts or Associated Radio. Service is WAY better. Sorry DX... you lose. read more

I bought a new acom 1000 hf amp. After waiting for one to come in they ship it to me without proper packaging, the front dials were hit so hard you could barely turn them and the tube was damaged although it looked like it was boxed that way. They had another unit in stock luckily but it needed to be switched from 240v to 120v, they took 10 days to do so, I believe its a 1 hour job at most. I had asked for them to package it better and it arrived the same way. One piece of tape that had mostly fallen off with the amp about to fall out of the box and once again no foam at the front or rear of the unit. I know they have no more amps in stock so I'm stuck with what I got. Totally unreal, this is a sensitive, nearly $4000 piece of electronic equipment. Needless to say they will not be getting anymore business from me and I'd advise buying elsewhere. This is the problem with large corporations, there is no owner on site that is making sure things are done correctly, the employees just don't care, it's not coming out of their pocket. I'll be looking for a mom and pop type supplier for my future equipment needs although ham radio outlet has been good, my local store has a manager that treats the business as if it were his own.
