When visiting Hudson Yards, Dylan's candy bar is a must visit for me. On this visit, was hoping to buy rock candy on a stick for my child, they did not have it in stock. My purchase included the candy that you can mix and match, it's charged by the pound, candy corn, and bubble gum. In addition we purchased the cap n crunch ice cream. First time trying the flavor. It was very delicious, tastes like eating the cereal but in an ice cream cone. Definitely recommend trying that flavor. Did not get monster cookie because the color of that ice cream was intense but looks delicious! The service was good. If you do not feel like going to the Upper East side location. Manhattan, NY (Hudson Yards) - enticed by the bright and technicolored retail display, I popped by Dylan's to pick up some gummy chews while wandering around the Shops at Hudson Yards. I've long held the impression they carried an interesting, eclectic, and perhaps unusual or boutiquey/high-end assortment of candies sourced from far and wide, alongside the classics, based on the brand's caché of being founded and owned by Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph)...so was rather disappointed and underwhelmed by the basic selection here, honestly. From what I understand, the original and much larger flagship store on the UES (which closed during the pandemic), with three floors and a restaurant/café, had more of a smorgasbord of confections, but I never made it there during its heyday. Alas, the candies are pretty prosaic, mostly nothing special that you can't find at a big box retailer or at a typical suburban mall candy store, minus the trendy window dressing. However, you will find many of your classic American candies and nostalgic childhood favorites. I came specifically for the gummies (bears, worms, fruits, and whathaveyou!) and there was a whole wall of them so that made me happy. I'm just not sure they're worth $19/lb, but hey, I get that rent has to be paid in this chi-chi shopping center. Some of the specially packaged goodies are unique and giftable, however. The floor staff could also use better customer service training. There aren't bags by the self-serve mix & match bulk candy wall so I asked an employee (who wasn't doing anything but chatting away with her co-worker or friend) where they can be found. She peels one off from her stash, annoyedly hands it over without so much as looking in my direction, while carrying on with her conversation as if my intrusion were an inconvenence. It's like, you're literally standing next to interested customers. How about instead of pretending not to see them, try proactively approaching some who are clearly prepared to purchase some products, and going: "Hi! I see you're checking out our fabulous display of gummy treats - would you like to have a bag to fill them up in? It's $19 per pound" (cos there's no price sign either). The aesthetics and concept of the place bring out the bratty-glam tween girl in me, but as a discerning old, I'm not that dazzled by what is essentially a gussied up corner candy shop with fancy marketing. read more

This location is right outside the entrance line for the Edge. Super cute candy store with packages and bulk candy. It was cutely decorated for the holidays and some seasonal Items were on display. Came to Dylan's to look for a gift. I like that it is inside Hudson Yards. It's not a big store but very festive inside. They have holiday candy for sale as well as some old classics such as Big Chew. They even sell ice cream near the register. This one in Hudson Yards is much smaller than the other location in UES. This location is inside the Shops at Hudson Yards on the 4th floor. There is a you pick and fill bag area of tons of different candies. There's also your well known candies and candy bars as well. The store is large and spacious with a lot to offer besides candy - there are cute mugs, pajamas, keychains and other fun items. Okay, so the picture is from the Miami Beach location, but I've been to the NYC location a few times. I've had the most delicious red velvet chocolate bar from Dylan's. My favorite chocolate treat from here. It's flavorful and the chocolate is smooth. I wouldn't even mind if there were some almonds scattered throughout... wishful thinking! Dylan's in the Shops at Hudson Yards wasn't on my list of places to go. I accidentally found it searching on the 4th floor. It's very small but very sweet. All my out of town guests will want to visit just like the old location that's closing the end of the month. I wanted to see what they have to offer. My favorite are the M&M's. The employee on duty was very nice. She said they may find space to open another Flagship Location at some time. For now this is the only retail location starting October 1st, 2021. I attended the VIP grand opening of Hudson Yards and was drawn into Dylan's when a woman walking through the halls of the mall gave me a jar to fill up with free candy! Does it get better??? Great customer service, super clean and sanitary, had a cool vibe, and a great selection. They are very different from other candy stores. I had high hopes. Me a mother four who has her plaatefull wanted to give my kids a special day, when we arrived at Dylan's candy bar we were very excited to see that you can make your own bag of candy. My seven-year-old son who is gluten-free peanut free and dairy free was very excited to see many many options of candy. Me and him both assumed at least a few would fit the criteria for allergies, but there was no allergen list so we were unsure and he had to watch us. All of his siblings ate without him. The blue haired worker who the second we walked in, had an extremely bad attitude. When my three year-old son accidentally touched the tongs on the part where your hand goes she went feral she started he got lectured by her and she went berserk. Then later, my oldest 10 years old was getting candy for her bag when a gummy fell and me I've always taught my kids to never wear his food so she caught it in her hand and put it into her bag of candy which we were going to buy anyway, when the blue, her lady saw, she started screaming that we are contaminating her food and that she had to leave the store immediately, she then left the store crying and was disappointed that she was not able to get her candy. Everything is bright and colorful, decorated just so to make all its customers smile. Some cute stuff here. Just didn't see what differentiates it from any other candy store. There are cute glass jars and containers that signify that they're from New York and have names printed on them. There are a bunch of candy bars with lots of flavors ... potato chip, chocolate toffee, bacon? There are the familiar bins which are filled to the brim with gummy candies and chocolates, and small wrapped candies like Starbursts. The staff was friendly and helpful. I suspect children would love this place like any other candy shop with it's bright colors and smell of sugar in the air. I am not a big candy eater but my wife is, so we stopped here on our way to The High Line. There is nothing outstanding or unusual here with the big attraction being the self-serve candy per pound. My go to go around to the various containers and fill her bag with the things she liked, such as gummies. etc. The rest of the store was standard fare with an occasional novelty item. I don't get the attraction of success of this place. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I wouldn't go out of my way for this. Worst customer service that I've experienced in NY so far. Bought some prepackaged chocolate bars and they were 4 for $12. When I went to the register to pay, the associate was on her phone watching videos and didn't seem to be in a hurry to ring up the transaction. I bought multiple candy bars and asked if I had a total of 16 bars. The associate said "I don't know, I didn't count. Do you want me to count it" with a bad attitude. Showed up at 30 Hudson location early and saw the lights off with doors open. Crates from delivery on the showroom floor. We waited till ten and store still had the lights off (opens at 10). I went in and found employees asleep in the back and woke them up while asking if they were open. My family, along with other customers, were turned away for at least another hour due to "late" delivery. Horrible personnel and customer service. Dylans was better years ago when they still cared.
