This is the complaint I filed against this company with the BBB: beware folks! Complaint Description: Extremely poor handling of all issues pertaining to my accoount: communication, delivery of my products, appropriatness, professionalism. Following upon my complaint against IKEA who employs DYNAMEX to deliver their products.Initially, they INFORMED me of the date and time they would deliver by an AUTOMATED system, (not even a person) you could respond to, obligating you to make the call to IKEA who the message said you needed to contact if the hours or day were not good, which I did, upon which IKEA informed me (after waiting for a LONG time for a live person) that I was NOT to call them but Dynamex. So I did, and they said I needed to contact their Hayward office, which was my office, which I did again, at TWO numbers to which no one responded to in the ENTIRE afternoon. So, I called their 800# again and pushed sales so as to talk to a live person without waiting a ton of time again and finally told that person I WAS NOT AVAILABLE at the stipulated time. She said that was fine and she'd pass on the info. that I was only available after 4:00pm and someone would call me. No one did the next day so I called again and they informed me IKEA required a redelivery fee as I had not been there at the stipulated time!!! Finally, after I explained and a big wait, she had her sup. approve the so called redelivery and I reiterated my requirements. NO ONE called and when they did it was the automated system again to give me the SAME TIME SLOT! Again I called and said NO, NOT POSSIBLE. Someone called me back close to 11:00 pm in the evening (!) to confirm I was NOT available at that time the next evening. I said "well, am I receiving my products at the time slot I can?" at which point the man curtly answered "I'm working on that, ma'am". Next day,no call- AGAIN. In the afternoon hours a man called to say he'd tried to deliver my products in the morning: I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!! I contained myself while telling him that was NOT the agreement and it was for the afternoon, if any. Would he come or not? He said he would. Guess what; never did, no follow up, nothing. I talked to their sales department and they COULD NOT REACH HIM at all. It is the next day and I have heard nothing. Essentially, I have been at this almost all week, not received my items, and thoroughly disgusted with this abominable service. Their recordings for a prompt, easy, blah, blah service are false advertising! Your Desired Resolution: Deliver my products when I'M available, not when you want to!! I WORK. This company does not even deserve 1 star. My package from Amazon was never delivered. All my packages are directed to go to the Amazon Hub in my communities clubhouse as stated in the directions. This company claims they delivered the package at 1835 hours on 04/19/2020 and left it at my front door, which is not where it is to go. I got home at 1900 hours that day and no package was there. No package was left in the Hub or the front office. I tried contacting this company numerous times with no luck at all. All calls get placing on a waiting line and then eventually dropped after 15-20 minutes. No one answers the phone and there's no other way of contacting them. I finally got in contact with Amazon customer service on the phone who tracked everything. They stated it was showing that the package was lost between the shipper and their facility. So how does this company state that this package was delivered when it was truly in fact lost? Or stolen by one of their shitty employees? AWFUL. These guys started delivering for Amazon, and I use Amazon Prime. I live in a gated community with no front office. That's never a problem for FedEx or UPS, and other smaller delivery companies have been very nice and accommodating about coming back later or calling me so I can meet them out front. Dynamex has been terrible about every single delivery they've done. -They have left my packages in the front lawn, outside the gate. I didn't know until a neighbor found it. -One time I was at home and missed their call, and I immediately called back. When I got to the gate, the delivery driver YELLED at me and told me he would leave the package on the street the next time I didn't answer my phone. -I had a package that was supposedly delivered one evening when I was home. I didn't get a phone call or hear anything about it until I checked the tracking info on Amazon. When I called Dynamex, the only info they had was that it was left at the (nonexistent) front office. They didn't know who the driver was or why nobody called me, and told me to call Amazon and have them reimburse me. I've contacted Amazon and given them feedback, so hopefully they can take action to make sure these guys don't scare off their Prime members. But if you're thinking of using them.... Now I can't deliver to MY customers because they didn't deliver to me. Now I've lost a days business because these people can't a delivery as promised. This delivery service is a disaster! Like many other reviews I had the pleasure of dealing with them after several same day / next day Amazon deliveries. Not one single delivery has been on time or even within 24 hours of the expected delivery. I've heard every excuse from "bad weather was moving in" to "our personal customer service with people before you took longer than expected." They don't have leads, supervisors, or management available after 5pm, and they have no ability to contact their drivers. So if you need to find a package that hasn't arrived on time... well, you can't. read more

Absolute WORST package courier to exist. My first encounter with them was through Amazon I pay for Prime membership so all of my items that are eligible should be delivered within 2 days max (maybe 3 if they are experiencing delays, which I would be ok with in most cases) , BUT no reason I should have to wait 4-5 days for a package. The this courier LIES and says they attempted delivery when in fact they did not. They lied TWICE, both times I was at my residence. First lie was that my RESIDENCE was a BUSINESS, so they updated tracking to say that it was closed, unable to deliver. Second lie when they reattempted delivery, was they were unable to find the front door. What kind of stupidity is that. I love Amazon and they handled this situation well but I did not too much care about the refund I placed my order because I would like to have the 2 items but I won't complain about Amazon. I cannot believe a major company like Amazon would use these guys for same day delivery service. They are awful. Monday morning I ordered an Xbox charger from Amazon online and since I'm a prime member it gave me the option of paying $5.99 extra for same-day delivery before 9pm. This is for my son who's been dying to play his Xbox since he moved to Dallas last week, but he somehow forgot to pack his cord. No biggie, I told him I'd get him one. Little did I know it wouldn't get to me when it was supposed to and how it was supposed to. After all I paid an EXTRA $5.99, what could possibly go wrong? A LOT, and all of it is Dynamex's fault. Evidently they hire lazy couriers. My address is very clear in Amazon and since I live in an apartment, of course my address contains an APARTMENT number, duh. Oh, and both Amazon and Dynamex had my phone number to call me if needed. So at 5:18 p.m. Monday I get a text and an email "your package has been delivered.". Yea!!!! I got so excited, went and opened my front door just knowing I'd have a package sitting there, but there was nothing. Nothing. So delivered? How could it be? Was it left at another apartment? I didn't know. So instinctively at 5:20 p.m. I called the apartments office just to see if a package had been left there for me in the past ten minutes or so, the office girl tells me "no.". Mind you, the office closes in ten minutes, at 5:30 p.m. and if it had been dropped off there I would need to run down there really quick. But I'm home and waiting on the door knock or doorbell tinting, so why would it have been left at the office? Who the hell knows. Anyway, I go to the Amazon app and it tells me "Dynamex" was the delivery service used. So, with ZERO contact info through Amazon for Dynamex and no means of even making a report UNLESS the package still sent there 24 hours later, I felt screwed. So being resourceful as I am, I googled Dynamex. Found a local number and called it. I got a cookie cutter customer service representative who must be trained not to take ownership of issues and to never admit fault. Yadda yadda yadda. She looked up and found my order and told me it had been delivered and was left in the "apartments office.". I asked her if that is protocol for their company and she said "no, it's not, sir.". I confirmed with her that she had my complete address and my telephone number that would have also been on the manifest Amazon printed for the courier service and she said "yes," and I said "wow, how is this possible and why didn't the courier at least call me and tell me it was left at the office? She didn't have an answer. At this point I hadn't told her that the apartments office had closed already because I wanted to see if she would actually get a hold of the courier and dispatch him back out, after all it had just been about twenty minutes at this point since he or she had left my package. It was addressed to me and my apartment, not to the apartments office itself. So she told me she'd reach out to dispatch and be right back on the line with me. Well, I waited a full 5-6 mins and she came back on the line and told me that she was unable to reach anyone in dispatch, but she'd "send an email" and get them right on it. I'm calling bullshit on it at this point, but I am also realizing this woman can't or doesn't appear to want to do anything for me. So I asked if there is a supervisor or manager available because just sending off an email and waiting likely 24-48 hours for a reply was simply unacceptable to me, after all I really should have my product I ordered and that was delivered in my hands right now, right? Right. So I'm put on hold again and about 6 mins later the same woman returns and said "there's no supervisor or manager available, but...." and guess what she said? You guessed it, she offered to send a supervisor an email who'd get "right on it.". Uh huh. Suuuuurrreeee. I asked her to please include a note in the email to CALL ME TONIGHT to discuss this situation. She ensured me, "oh yes sir, they'll get it and work on it immediately." That was 8 hours ago, it's now almost 1:30 a.m. and I have yet to receive a call, an email, or hear anything from anyone at Dynamex. So the apartments woman telling me there has been nothing delivered for me is a whole 'nuther issue I'll be taking up with them today. Boy oh boy. So my son, who I promised would be able to play his games tonight when he got off work at midnight, now won't be playing anything. I said a lot to say this, but this is my detailed story. It's unresolved. I just hope that package IS actually in my apartments office and I'll get it today after they open at 9 a.m., but I am having to work myself and be inconvenienced even after paying $5.99 extra for doorstep delivery. I placed a same-day delivery order with Amazon because I needed the items that day. It was "delivered" by Dynamex. The quotation marks are because they left the package ON TOP of my mailbox which is at the end of a very long driveway. I didn't know it had been delivered because there was no notification, so I assumed Amazon fell through. It sat on my mailbox at the street overnight for anyone to take if they wanted, IN THE RAIN. " As I have gotten quite a few deliveries from Amazon via Dynamex I was quite taken aback. I contacted Dynamex twice that evening and the same thing was repeated. After some investigation I learned. Dynamex uses "independent contractors" for deliveries in San Diego. ( Think "Uber" for packages, private individuals in their private vehicles picking up extra money after working at a regular daytime job so do not expect Dynamex packages till after the drivers day job is over! ). When you call the Dynamex Corporate number ( or the package delivery number ) you find there is no "Customer Service", the best the phone answering service can do is forward the call to the "San Diego" Office. After a time on hold someone answers and repeats the same information and indicates the delivery will be attempted again tomorrow. If you push for the San Diego manager you might be lucky enough to get to someone "B.." who is actually in contact with the driver. B states this is one of his "best" drivers, B says he will talk to the driver. B calls back with the same message about "no access", I get B to look up my address on Google, Street view which convinces B that there is no access problem. GPS leads one directly to my house within thirty feet and B confirms the driver has GPS and the driver claims the gate was closed. I inform B that I have 24x7 video surveillance if B would like to see, covering the time the driver said the gates were closed. B calls back and says the package will be delivered by noon ( this is the next day ), I ask where the package is so I might go and pick it up, it turns out the package is in the drivers possession. At 5 PM I was told the driver was leaving La Jolla and expected to be here at few minutes after 6. At 6:30 I was told the traffic was heavy. A 6:48 it arrived, as english was the drivers second language the conversation was difficult ( now the driver may have been much more fluent than he was willing to let on as he obviously understood all that I said.) I asked if he had GPS and he showed my address he had looked up on Google on his phone, he was not making use of any of the "GPS" apps like Waze etc but looking at the street view picture taken in the daytime. (I have found google maps does a decent job if you turn on your GPS for location.) I asked why the driver lied about the closed gate, he responded he had gone to a different house and pointed to the north. I asked how he managed to find the correct house tonight ? He responded my house number was not big enough, it was dark, you have it now, and left. ........ Like everyone else in this Yelp. The company doesn't deliver anything to me. The one time they delivered the package to me was when they went directly to my apt office and just left it there. No knock or anything. I have lost numerous amounts of packages from them and even one today. The best way is to avoid this company at all cost. If you live in the North Dallas area just get 2 day deliver. That way you get your package. Dynamex doesn't care about you or your stuff. At the point I am where they keep losing my packages. I just assume they are keeping it themselves cause they don't even knock cause i am home all day. Get Amazon 2-day delivery. Same day delivery for an Amazon purchase is now 7 days late and no new delivery date on tracking info. I sincerely don't understand how Dynamex hasn't been dropped by Amazon for such horrible service. I ordered a set of luggage same day due to a sudden travel need, and never received it. First I get the 'shipment delayed', with no reason. Then I get a notification that the shipment could not be made because the courier "could not get past the gate". Now, this is confusing to me because my apartment complex has no gate or coded entry, there isn't even a fence! A phone call to Dynamex was fruitless, they said they would try shipping again (spoilers: never got my package), and that they couldn't do anything else for me. Fortunately Amazon Customer Service was more useful, and gave me a full refund. I've learned my lesson, I'm never ordering same day shipping again, or at least until a new same day courier is employed. read more

How is the company still in business?! I placed an order through Office Depot about two weeks ago. Apparently, OD utilizes this company to deliver my equipment. During the first attempt to deliver my order, the company stated that came and no one was home. COMPLETE LIE. I am a stay at home mom, and I recently had newborn twins so I am confined to my home until they are old enough to leave. I called OD and requested a different courier, and guess what happened? I got stuck with the same company. Wonderful. The package was supposed to be delivered yesterday. At this point I contacted OD again to only hear the same excuse. No one was home. That's when the representative told me that they have had several issues with this company. Now I am awaiting two refunds that haven't been issued and I am still short my original order. read more

I've had many issues with Amazon's use of Dynamex for package delivery, but the latest is their use of my mailbox. They are not the USPS, therefore they are not allowed access/use of my mailbox. It's a federal offence and I've contacted the USPS stating so. I don't expect to look in my mailbox for a delivery by a local package delivery company. I would never use nor recommend this company to anyone, EVER The original product I needed on short notice was out of stock in stores in my area, so I turned to Amazon. My order was placed well before noon and due at 9pm. I did everything from home today as not to miss the delivery. It is 11:58pm and I still don't have it. The tracking info was updated at 10:34pm saying "no access".... Access to what? I do not live in a gated community so there are no codes needed! This was only updated AFTER I called Dynamex afterhours and was informed the driver was running behind but my product was on the way. After getting the update and calling back, I was informed customer service was closed - I would have to call back at 8am... While I'm traveling-without my ordered products. I called Amazon to get some answers, upon their sweet customer service rep calling Dynamex I found out "the driver could not locate the apartment complex!" I am not always the brightest crayon in the bunch, but if I have a package with the full street address AND full name of the apartment complex, I'm sure I could find it... If not, I'm certain calling to get directions is not too difficult either. This delivery company is a letdown. read more

Alright folks, lets not be TOO hard on Dynamex since flawless courier logistics is pretty difficult to pull off when you want maximum speed...but SHAME on Amazon for putting their fastest shipping demands in the hands of a company that has time and time again demonstrated that they cannot handle the load. So I'm updating my review because they responded on on here to call in, I did, and all they would say is it's delayed and scheduled for delivery today (they have said that every day this week) I paid extra for 2 day delivery which should have gotten it to me before Thanksgiving, we are a week out from the original eta, though from tracking it looks like it was sitting at the store with the label printed for the first two of those days. Their customer service over the phone isn't very helpful though was polite and attentive at least. Just couldn't tell me any more than the tracking number and their website does. If you can't take a rush delivery don't, oh and telling people to call in to resolve the issue doesn't help if the people answering the e phones have no more access than your tracking system gives me, which is it's been sitting waiting for a delivery truck to pull it out of your local distribution center since Sunday. read more

Dynamex is a transportation carrier responsible for handling the same- or one-day delivery service for Amazon.ca. I bought a product on Amazon.ca to be delivered by Dynamex on 7/5. The package did not get delivered on 7/5. I called Dynamex (I will disregard the fact that I called amazon.ca numerous times for this matter as well for purposes of this review) on 7/6 to inquire about status. The agent told me someone with the dispatch team would give me a call that afternoon. On 7/6, again, the package did not arrive and no one at Dynamex gave me a call. I called on 7/7 again to obtain further information. During this time, the online tracking consistently said the package "is out for delivery." The agent did not care to contact the dispatch team and kept telling me the package is out for delivery. I told the person that does not mean anything since the message has been the same for two days. The agent, while I was explaining the situation more in detail and trying to obtain for more information about the status of package, hung up the phone on me. I called again and spoke to another agent. The second agent was able to give me more information and assured me the package would be delivered today. Whether that will happen or not is yet to be seen. I left a message with the manager asking for a call back to explain the first agent's behavior. The manager did not give me a call. I am leaving this review in addition to filing a complaint with Amazon.ca. It would be smart for Amazon to sever the contractual relationship immediately to maintain its reliability. The business does not deserve even a one star. I am very dissatisfied with the service and would never order any product from Amazon.ca if the only option for receiving the shipment is through this carrier. read more

I had placed an order on amazon to give to my friend who was leaving the country the day after. I was promised the order would come before 9pm that same day. Online, Dynamex says B ADDRESS, and incomplete order. I have never had a single problem before with any shipping company, AND HOW CAN YOU MISS A CORNER HOUSE!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Absolute the worst delivery service. Within three weeks I have had them lie about delivering packages. They will update their tracking saying that the item is delivered when they did not deliver it. When your customer support tells us "well, the courier must've been lazy and just dropped all the packages off in the front of the leasing office" then you know it is bad. I would actually give Dynamex a negative if possible. We received a delivery tonight from an order from Amazon which was delivered by Dynamex...looked out the window and the delivery car was stuck in our front yard in the mud. They drove off the driveway through the yard up to the front porch; due to recent snow...the yard was saturated. My husband asked the couple, "why did you pull in the yard?" The lady said we were delivering a package; the man never said anything. The lady finally apologized, but the man never said a word. I would never suggest to use this service. Absymal excuse for a delivery carrier. They either lost or completely went off the radar for me on THREE separate deliveries in the Triangle area of NC within the same week. Chose one-day shipping on amazon since it was offered complimentary; never again as long as they foolishly outsource to this sorry excuse of a company. They either apparently made no attempt twice and emailed me once saying an attempt was made, but never gave me any contact information and Amazon could not contact them every single time. If you live in the Research Triangle Park, do not use next-day delivery on Amazon Prime as you will run a very good risk of having your delivery somehow botched by this carrier. I ordered a product from Business Office Depot online and they used Dynamex as the carrier. I have never heard of them. My item was to be delivered on June 12th, it did not show up. Then I was told it would be delivered on June 15th, it did not show up. I had to get a refund, this product never was delivered. They are not a reliable company for shipping. read more

If you've ordered something on Amazon and it's shipping through Dynamex, I'd really urge you to just reorder what you've bought, despite the inconvenience. There's no relying on this company at all. Not just for packages getting there on time, but for getting there, period. The last update showed my package was in a warehouse in my town, but it was running three days late with no updates. I looked up the company and found this Yelp page, and I was shocked to see how many people say they just never received their packages. But sure enough, that's exactly what happened to me. Something is really, really fishy about this company. If you've got something coming, especially if it's time sensitive, you do NOT want to depend on them. Reorder your shipment, in the unlikely event that Dynamex does deliver (or in the more likely event that they say your package was lost) get a refund, and while doing that ask Amazon to de-prioritize Dynamex as a shipper for you. I know it sounds very drastic and inconvenient, but I can only tell you from my personal experience and the staggering number of similar reviews that you really don't want to take your chances on these guys. read more
