I had an appointment today at 9:30, Tuesday, 09/20/22, as a new patient, I arrived at 9:10 and started to fill out my new patient packet. First thing the receptionist at the front, John, says is "try to finish as fast as you can". I proceed to fill out the packet swiftly while he scanned my insurance and ID card. I had about 5 pages left in the questionnaire part of the packet and John walks up to me at 9:30 sharp and says because I haven't completed it yet I need to reschedule because their next patient will be coming in shortly. Meanwhile there is not a SINGLE person in the waiting room. He didn't offer me to opportunity to finish the packet in a room while I wait for the doctor, I asked why he didn't email me the packet to fill out ahead of time, his response, "oh you didn't receive it?" No I didn't John. They never called prior to the appointment to verify if I got it nor confirm my appointment. But I heard him call and confirm another patients appointment while I was in the waiting room. Terrible customer service. I requested 2.5 hours off of work to be here and all he could offer was a new appointment next Monday. This is quite unfortunate for me since the doctor appears to have good reviews but there is zero respect for the patients time and efforts taking off work even when I arrived 20 mins prior to the appointment. I hope the doctor reads this and corrects the lack care and poor customer service from his associates who work under him. I do not recommend this place what so ever. read more

Dr. Alexander Imas is by far one of the top addiction/pain management doctors I never met and I've been to over a dozen since I was 22, most of the other doctors spend a maximum of 15 Minutes with me usually 5-10 Dr.Imas on average spends 35 to a little over an hour with me he tells you exactly what you need to hear not what you want to hear! He doesn't let his patients suffer but he also doesn't over prescribe any medications, he takes just about every insurance you can imagine and if your insurance isn't part of his network he goes out of his way to try and get it to be on his network by sending the insurance company and necessary documents for him to be in network, he's down to earth and a side note has an amazing Star Wars collection hanging in the office from old stamps and magazines to movie covers. The staff was exceptional the office is extremely clean and good vibes all around, he works directly with my pharmacist at CVS at the target in Boca Park so there's no confusion on my prescriptions which are sent directly from his office to the pharmacy in times where they're cracking down because of the "opioid epidemic" he is the best doctor to go to. He's the only one I've ever met who has both specialties in ADDICTION medicine and PAIN MANAGEMENT which I think should be the law considering how they're cracking down on doctors if you're going to be prescribing opioids THEN you should also have knowledge of addiction medicine! The only thing him and I disagree on is what's a better phone an iPhone or a non-Apple branded phone LOL he loves the Golden Knights hockey team he's a family man I can't say enough good things about this man he's literally SAVED my life!!! I came to Dr Imas for a pinched nerve in my shoulder. After wasting my time to fill out 11+ pages of new patient information and driving to his office 30 minutes one way, I ask to use the restroom. The front desk tells me not to use the restroom until I get a cup to pee in for a drug test. I'm shocked and ask why I need to do a drug test for a pinched nerve. I told them I want therapy and to address the root cause of my pinched nerve. After asking numerous ludicrous questions on their new patient forms, they could mention that drug testing is required if you want to see a jerk named Dr Alexander Imas. No empathy from Dr. Imas, only cares about his rules and running his office like a dictator. Stop wasting peoples time that are interested in a holistic approach to resolving a pain problem. Dr Imez and his staff is really great! Stephanie is always so helpful with my prior auths and dealing with insurance stuff, I usually don't write reviews but they are so amazing here. I'm out in 30 min with my refill and when I do see imez himself he takes time to talk and just cares. The only pro I could say is I've been coming here almost 5 years and usually get a 2 month prescription but anytime they get a new PA they switch it to coming monthly to keep the PA busy I feel. So I called yesterday to set up an appointment and they told me the next day at 445. I show up one patient is complaining that they won't see him for some reason, a girl shows up saying she just needs a pain med sign off and they shoot her down, to which I then walk up to the front desk to sign up for my new patient sign up. They tell me they don't have any info of me at all, no record and I even showed them on my phone when I called them and for how long. They tell me they have an opening a month out for new patient... Today I want to tell you about a doctor and a person for whom I have sincere gratitude and respect. The practice is called Dynamic Pain Réhabilitation (DPR) and the doctor in question is Dr. Alexander Imas. He is one of only two physicians that I recommend to others (always a risky proposition), and have never heard of a negative outcome. So, why take the time to write? Because in the four years i've been going to see him, he has systematically and methodically given me the tools to save my own life. Sounds dramatic, doesn't it? You would have to understand where I've been to appreciate what he has done. So I'll tell you the story. In 2000-01, I had a series of accidents (3 of them). I wasn't healing. A doctor sent me to Mayo, where they recommended that I see a PMR doctor, and by 2004 said doctor had me in a wheelchair and on a whole lot of meds. Despite fearing addiction and taking the bare minimum of pills, prescribed pain patches made me an over-medicated zombie in that chair for the rest of the decade until I broke my leg in 2010. I spent almost a year in the hospital after having leg surgery. I don't know exactly what happened to me, but I woke up over two months later in a different hospital. I know I had been on life support, and woke up with a bunch of health issues because of multiple organ failure. It was the first time anyone questioned the PMR treatment, and all those drugs. I learned that I would need to make a lot of changes if I wanted to stay alive (damaged heart, lung, liver and kidneys). There was a new pain regimen which now centered around methadone. A few months later, Dr. Imas was recommended to me. The first thing I told Dr. Imas was that I wanted to regain my health. He has created a regimen that helped me leave the drug stupor of the previous doctors behind. He had a lot to think about in my complex situation, but chose meds carefully to not conflict with the other things I was taking. And he helped me manage pain. Over time he has helped me to get off narcotics. I am free of methadone now, and learning a whole new way to be. My quality of life has improved so much, in no small part due to Dr. Imas' care. I still have pain, but he has been very attentive and while withdrawal is hard, I know that he got me through it as gently he could. I know this is long, but thanking Dr. Imas with an honest review is worth my time. Please don't think that I see only good things, more in a bit on that. Everything he has done will make him less and less necessary. That's pretty unselfish to me. I no longer have to go every month, which makes me feel good. I know that I am probably going to have some health issues for the rest of my life, so I love that together, we are creating recognizable results. I've read the complaints about long waits and staff issues, and I have also had some frustrations. Ultimately for me, it's about perspective. When i think about it, i have to remember that this is a doctor who really listens and gives me the time I need, not just on the first visit, but every time I see him. I choose to allow some extra time because I understand that delays can happen when patients ahead of me need extra time. We all need that sometimes. I can also see that he really hates to keep people waiting, he is not above apologies when needed. So for a while now, I've been trying to figure out why there have been delays and staff issues, and whether I wanted to continue with DPR. A few observations show me a very human situation; one where a doctor is working on improving himself (becoming double board certified in addiction and pain management) and his business (hiring another doctor and bringing on more staff) while raising a young family. I would imagine that he has more demands on his time than I would want to have, but I admire him for working on it all while remaining down to earth and keeping a self-effacing sense of humor. I think that one of the best clues to what makes Dr. Imas tick is all over the walls of his office. He's a cartoonist by hobby. What does he draw? Superheroes. hmmmm...... :). It fits with everything else I've learned about him. . He seems like a man who wants to help. I guess I've come to the conclusion that like most of us, he Is learning and improving as he goes. What is that saying ? ".....when we know better, we do better." I should stop here before you figure out that not only do I think Dr. Imas is good at what he does, warts and all, I believe that this is a good guy. I took my mom to Dr.Alexander Today she has severe arthritis she could barely walk or stand from her bone sticking out from her fingers and her feet I took her to pain management which they say they give medication to help pain relief but they don't offered no pain medication they offered a muscle relaxer which makes no sense for her to sleep at night so she couldn't feel the pain while she was sleeping because she could not sleep . They offered my mother muscle relaxer and tramadol which is basically a aspirin no consideration for her at all with the pain he also said he has some medication that he puts inside her mouth which I've never heard of now for a 75-year-old person to put something in your mouth is ridiculous like a sticker there is no consideration from Dr. Alexander only his nurse Jennifer and Stephanie were helpful one of the worst doctors I've seen please do not waste your time or money by going there because I've seen a lot of doctors in my time he is a fraud and a con that just wants to make money so they say they're a pain management to give pain pills but they don't they don't they don't they don't it's a lie doctor has no care for no one otherwise he will be giving pain pills for pain management for chronic arthritis not tramadol are a muscle relaxer. relaxer when her bones are sticking out of her finger and her feet and can barely walk I told him I would put mud and a leaf on a leg like I was in the 15th century don't waste your money or your time because there is no consideration or help with pain management in Henderson one of the worst doctors I've seen and I've been to a lot doctors read more

Dr. Imas and his PA Max Carter are both Great Drs. I'm a regular patient of Max Carter for about 2 years. I have also seen Dr. Imas on several different occasions. They listen to what your are saying and then decide on a plan that works Best. The Medical Assistant's are all very Nice. I even had the pleasure talking with the Office Manager.. I was lied to regarding my insurance covering their care. The sign on the desk clearly states "no service before payment is rendered".... so how in the world did i rack up $600 worth of co-pays? I'll tell you, the girls working there are incompetent. The wait time is on average 2 hours AFTER your appointment time. Sure Dr Imas is funny and Dr Carter the older soft spoken and nice guy but if my mechanic told some jokes, made me laugh and then a month later charged me $600 more would i still go there??? if you get into a car accident and they're telling you to go to Pain Managment DO NOT go here they do not know what they are doing....they were supposed to put the lien that I filled out and sent it to the attorney which they NEVER did and this was five years ago and they sent me to collections because the people in their office don't know what they are doing... if they were actually sufficient and did what they were supposed to do then I wouldn't have this issue and be fighting with them and the collection agency...if they did what they were supposed to do they would've got paid a few years back. on top of that how they treat people is horrible DO NOT GO HERE! read more

I was duped just like Kathleen in that I was told for months that my insurance covered my visits, which require a drug test every time you go (which is fine except I was billed months later for every one of those tests). I was in an accident and subsequently contracted MRSA from the hospital and was put on a ton of painkillers due to the daily lancing and draining, plus the accident injuries. I was addicted to the morphine and pills and wanted off ASAP so I went to Dr Imas to obtain Methadone. The past year and a half I have been faithfully dropping my dose and getting a drug test monthly to ensure I have stayed on his regimen. Fast forward to this last week I receive a $500.00 bill in the mail for the last 5 months of drug tests (that were supposedly covered by my insurance) and was told I was put in collections and dropped as a patient. So here I am, out of my medication, about to go into withdrawal and the office staff today told me to go to "an urgent care", even after I told them I have seizures if I miss my medication. I don't want drugs... I want to remain off of them!! Amazing that they can do this to a patient ( I am a human just like the girls at the office, have some compassion).... Over a year of making me wait over an hour after my appointment time, false billing and now dropping me like I was a cable tv customer and not a car accident survivor trying to save my own life... It's funny how half the reviews give 5 stars for Dr Imas (who is a nice guy) and complain about the wait and office staff and the other half give 1 star... You roll the dice and decide for yourself. I recorded the front desk girls telling me they cannot give me my last prescription due to me owing a bill, i went to the ER at Saint Rose Dominican Hospital to get a refill this morning and the ER Doctor suggested i do this after I explained what happened this last week. He said this goes against a Doctor's code of ethics and should be reported. At least YouTube and the local news can expose a dirty doctor's office where money comes first.. I am very excited that I found dynamic pain center. I am 62 years old with a double spinal fusion and advanced scoliosis . The first visit I was in severe pain and could hardly walk, I was at my worst ever. Dr.Carter sat with me a did some tests that showed the pain was also coming from my "S" joints, I had no idea. Dr. Carter made a pain plan and gave me a shot that took almost all the pain away, I was so grateful that I was up walking.I have been in physical therapy getting ready for another spine surgery and Dr. Imas gave me shots into the s joints guided by xray, you can see the needles going in.It is a miracle how much pain has gone, to me they are ever much as those super hero's that are on the walls.This has brought me time that I desperately needed.This was the third pain institute that I have gone to and will be that last as I highly recommend them , this is the only place that I will go to, the only place that I trust.The whole staff is very pleasant as well. i have my biggest wish back, to spend more time doing, things with my grandchildren, park, pool etc that means more to me than anything. I and my wife have gone to Dr Imas for numerous years. He is a great Doctor but his staff always say we are here to help you like his med tech Brandan. His word means nothing. If you leave him a message he will never again never call you back. I ln the 10 years or so Dr Imas has staff that cuts corners, lie to your face and has a lot of students that work for free but with no supervision so they screw most of Dr Alexander Imas's customers. He knows he has problems with them but I feel he just does not have the backbone to get rid of the office personnel that is taking down his business. I was told by the Doctor Imas himself if you need help I will help you. Well in the past 2 months he was nowhere to be found for any help. I guess again he is hiding behind his staff so that no one can talk to him. I though he was a good friend and doctor but I was wrong. Dr. Imas is a wonderful physician. I saw him for spinal stenosis and other conditions for six or seven years. Since he opened his new office, he has incurred substantial debt. I had medicaid which paid all my bills. Last year my medicaid became medicare. Although the office has a prominent sign stating all co-pays must be made before services are rendered, that is not true. I was told I had a twenty dollar co-pay last November and received bills which I cannot pay. I have been paying him off regularly since January but they have a merciless collection agency which calls and leaves threatening messages. That is illegal. I wish I could still see Dr. Imas but he charges a great deal more than medicare covers. Had I known that I would not have incurred this unwanted debt. P.S. the cortisone shots never really helped my condition and if I had been told a large co-pay was involved I would not have had them done. Dr. Imas is a great person and a genius. He has moved his parents to Henderson so his father can help him with the bookkeeping. If you have good insurance he is the most genuinely caring doctor you could ever hope to meet. Last year he was praying for Donald Trump to be elected. He got his wish. I am paying my bill at the rate of ten dollars a month. Medicare paid him over $1100 for my last two visits but he wants more from me. The health care system is broken because of Donald Trump. Dr. Imas is a supporter of President Trump. He is a doctor and doesn't understand what Trump is doing to America. read more
