I also saw her work with two others during my hour (typically 2-3 clients per therapist at my locale) and noted that her attentive listening skills, careful monitoring of correct positioning (even from across the room) and thoughtful selection of moves based on supplied info was the same high quality for each client. She's also got a warm, humorous but also professional demeanor that put me at ease and made me feel secure about my care and even made it pleasant experience. I do not passionately crave all types of exercise, so that was a good motivator. Again, she was subbing for just one day, but I understand that she's new to the Prospect practice, so thought it might be helpful to provide this single-visit snapshot.

The front desk staff at the time I went was very hot and cold. First starting very defensive and not being kind that I was not aware I needed additional paperwork (I moved states) and then ending my saying they will do their best to help me. She is a consummate professional who brings encyclopedic knowledge of her field to each session along with an expert level of skill. But there's more to being an outstanding OT than being a brilliant practitioner. The majority of what bothered me wasn't that they breached HIPAA law several times in a phone call to me: they fed to me someone else's date of birth, and instead of asking me to give them information about myself for them to confirm my identity, they fed me this information. Again, before they knew I was me. But I was ready to excuse the person who made the mistakes. I did want to prevent it from happening again, though. It was the ways the clinical director handled it that really frustrated and angered me. When I expressed concern to the m, while they acknowledged that a mistake was made, they responded with a lot of assertions about tangential policies instead of the issue itself; they didn't assure me that they and/or the location would work to avoid the same kind of mistake in the future; when I addressed this hole in a second in-person conversation about it, they claimed they made this assurance in the previous conversation, citing lines they never expressed in that previous conversation; in the same, second in-person conversation, they told me they talked with the person who broke HIPAA law, and less than three minutes later, when I asked them if they talked with the person, they expressed their 'Yes' in a high voice -- very unconvincing. The clinical director's physical therapy guidance also lacked the level of care for movement quality and level of attention in general that I want for my own healing or that of anyone I care about.

I followed up with him three weeks later, and he said oh, I remember and will call me back and now it's been an additional two weeks. I will not attend them because they have already shown they are unprofessional. It is sad because if this is a good place, the first impression is the worst, and we will never know. I will sing her praise forever…read more I've had a herniated disc in my lower back+neuropathy for the past 6 years and I've done PT before, but it only kind of helped...Hima's care ACTUALLY made a difference. Hima is extremely kind and optimistic and knowledgeable. She gave me the tools to handle flair ups when they inevitably happen, but from the time I started seeing her to finishing I went from not being able to walk very much and feeling pain every day, to exercising again with minimal pain and anxiety of reinjury. At one point I even strained something in my hip while I was out of town, and she responded to my panicked email immediately, giving me guidance. She even helped me prepare physically for moving apartments. Treatment from her is very personal and I appreciated it so much. Especially when an injury-that you feel is ruining your quality of life-can be so emotional. The facility is kind of small and can feel chaotic when it's busy, but I didn't mind too much. The windows and high ceilings were nice, plus all the equipment looked new. I will definitely be coming back here if I have any future issues. 1000/10 stars for Hima Gandhi
