Highly recommended! I came here when my car was running very badly and the check engine light was on. I was afraid it might be something that would cost thousands of dollars to fix. They did a diagnostic and told me what the problem was and gave me a quote, which seemed reasonable, and I'm pretty sure it would've cost considerably more elsewhere, so I said to go ahead with the work. I went to Dyno Auto Repair to get a SMOG check and an oil change as was advertised on their store front. They told me they weren't certified for SMOG checks and were only able to do the oil change. Later that night, I was driving with friends and my car began to smoke and my engine began to overheat. I was forced to pull over and had to get my car towed for safety reasons. I went to a different auto shop the next day and was told that the coolant and oil had leaked out completely and my water pump was punctured. All in, repairs were going to be $2200. Before my oil change at Dyno Auto Repair, my car was working perfectly and I strongly believe they messed up my car to get me to come back and spend more money at their shop. Do NOT trust them, especially if you are a young woman looking for a car repair shop. They WILL take advantage of you!!! read more

My car needed a smog check, and I decided to come here. They charge $50. Please keep in mind that while I was told on the phone that they open at 8:00 AM, they do not-- the owner doesn't come in until 8:15 or so. This is crucial for those who wish to just drop off and go to work afterward. My car somehow failed the first test, but the owner was nice enough to give me one more chance to have my car maintenanced and come back to do the smog test again. I had my car fixed but the car still failed the test. The owner told me to drive 100 miles and it would pass the next time. Did that, and it still failed. He then said to drive it 300 more miles. Turns out I just needed to do a drive cycle for my vehicle, and was able to Google the instructions. After doing so, I passed with flying colors. In short: they may not be the most knowledgeable, but they make this up with customer service. I wasn't charged a dime more for all the times I came back. And for this, I'll give them a solid four stars! read more

Great service and a friendly staff. I was in a rush to get my car smogged for my DMV registration. The gentleman helped me right away and got my SMOG certificate in no time flat. There is also a small waiting area inside the shop while they perform work on your car. While waiting I noticed that the shop is well kept and clean! No tools or dirty stuff anywhere. Came here to get my oil changed & was in & out in about 45 minutes! I would call to see what the wait time was first though or make an appointment if they let you because while I got lucky they seemed to be quite busy with several other people coming in after I did. Easy to get to, employees nice but not overly nice trying to sell you stuff. The only thing that was weird was when an employee went to pull my car forward at the end, he stayed in my car for like 2 minutes. I know they have to put the sticker in there saying when I should get my next oil change, but it took way longer than what it realistically should for him to do that. He didn't realize I was watching him from the office, so maybe he just wanted a minute to himself? Lol I have no idea but it did make me feel a little weary & check everything in my car once I got in. Other than that, it was great! read more

Highly Recommend! Oil change light turned on in my new car. It was really quick - they have a system down! They lift the car, check the tire pressure, inflate your tires, drain the old oil, put in new oil (synthetic for me), and top of the window wiper fluid as well. I was in and out, I think, in like 10 minutes! Definitely beats getting it done at an over-priced dealership or a JiffyLube type place. Definitely would come here again. Brought my car here for oil change several times. They always get to me immediately when possible and are super nice and professional. Never recommend anything I dont need and send me on my way in 10 minutes or so. There's a small waiting room which is nice and they accept cash or card. There's a BoA ATM across the street as well. Once I came here before work for an oil change on a weekday so I had little time. They made sure I was out of way before I needed to leave even though there was someone ahead of me who needed quite a bit of work/time. Definitely recommend this place for quick vehicle maintenance! Just note that they aren't a full blown mechanic so they don't do bigger repairs and while they do smog checks they are not a STAR station. But they will point you to one if you need! I come here for every service my car needs that they cover and plan on continuing to while I'm in LA. read more

The service was great and fast. The previous few tune-ups were handled by Pep Boys but my car has been running very rough, to the point of shaking so I wanted to try a new shop. The mechanic did a computer diagnostic but it returned no issues so I proceeded with an oil change which took 15-20 minutes and cost $35. It seems to have been all that was needed because the shaking stopped after I let it run for a few seconds. I recommend calling ahead only because the shop is small and I imagine the wait time could increase quickly, but these guys are pretty efficient and clean, so I definitely recommend using them. read more

After a previous visit to the dealership (and a hefty charge with no solution) to check the engine, brake and ABS light that came on, I took my car to Dyno to get a second opinion and a smog check. Mr Lee was extremely responsive via phone, identified the potential issue, recommended a second opinion for his analysis and provided next steps to get the l. His parents who were also working there were very kind and courteous even though they didn't speak much English. I called the place just to verify if he can unscrew my oil filter since it's very tight in there and he mentioned he doesn't do unscrewing the oil filter, only oil changes and I understand but while I was explaining what the problem was he just hung up and left me mid sentence. He is the most HONEST man. I ask for other things sometimes, like check to see if I need to change my break pads or I'll just come by to see if I need Oil change since cars made after year 2000 is every 5K miles instead of 3k if I dont need to he tells me NOT to get it. I've been coming here since regular oil change used to cost $20 but that was probably 10 years ago. $26 for regular oil change, synthetic oil chnage for Audi or Mercedes probably more. I was referred to Dyno Auto Care Center by a collegue a few years ago after being ripped off time after time from different mechanics. Upon initially taking my car in, the owner checked my car and told me that honestly, half of the repairs I had gotten, I didn't need. I had my brakes replaced at about 30% less that what I would normally pay. At first, I was saying to myself, "can this be true, an honest mechanic?; are they using cheap parts?" Well, after being a loyal customer for the past 4 years, I can say, yes, the mechanics are honest and no, they do not use cheap parts. I have recommended many to this shop and they were all satisfied with the work.
