During a phone call, he raised his voice ("I don't need to take this crap...I'm DONE, OK??"), used hostile language, and abruptly terminated the call. Within minutes, he returned my personal tax documents by email, effectively ending the engagement during filing season. While his technical work on the corporate return was satisfactory, I found the communication and professionalism during this exchange deeply disappointing. Clients transitioning from another CPA may reasonably have clarification questions, and I did not feel those were handled constructively. Others may wish to consider communication style carefully when choosing a tax professional. Now I have to find someone new right in tax season with no referrals and no smooth transition.
