Dave saved us again! This time was the capacitor. Really appreciate his quick response to our call for help during this excessive heat wave.

Unfortunately I feel morally and ethically responsible to write this update. I like Dave and he's been good to us over the last 5 years, but his recent "install" of our new AC/gas furnace was probably the worst workmanship I've ever seen from a professional contractor. I'm keeping the review at 2 stars because while he did an absolutely terrible job on the install, he's been great up until this point. However, he really screwed the pooch where it mattered. Long story short, I ended up paying another company over $4500 to redo what Dave had done. Dave did end up giving me 1/2 the money back, but still. It all started with some really terrible duct work, which he had already "fixed" several times and wasn't happy with the results in the first place. But on one hot day where it reached 100, our new 3 ton 16 seer 2 stage AC could not keep up so I decided to recheck his duct work and quickly notice several big holes. Anyway, a lot had happened up to this point and I no longer trusted him to do a quality job. we had another company come out to see what it would cost to replace the duct work and they ended up fixing everything and more because so much was wrong. Another company came out did the following (and probably more) : 1) Increase the return plenum for proper rebound zone. 2) Increase the supply plenum from 4' with a terrible workman ship to 8' with something picture worthy. Note: having a larger supply plenum is important part of duct design and helps with air flow. 3) Increase a return duct size to get appropriate return air, 4) Straighten existing duct work to remove restrictions. 5) Install furnace and evaporator coil ***per instructions***. This is where they fixed specifically what the instructions said ***not to do***. 6) Fix the electrical wiring outside to meet code. 7) Fixed the low voltage wiring to the outside unit that had the protective insulation worn off. This probably saved me an electrical short and thousands of dollars of damage a year or so down the road. 8) Sealed/glue the condensate pvc drain line. Seriously?!?! 9) Moved the air scrubber to the supply side of the unit so I will work more effectively. 10) Remove all refrigerant, vacuum, pressure test and retest the unit to make sure there was nothing bad in the line. 11) Fixed furnace exhaust pipe to go to the right direction. 12) Fixed furnace exhaust to go to correct size outlet. 13) They got the unit running as best as they could with a mismatched furnace. Yeah, a new unit with a matched furnace. This was a complicated install, it was not a simple swap out as we were moving the location, but it's no excuse for what happened. I like Dave and he isn't going to try and sell you something you don't need. But I do have concerns over his recent quality especially on a complicated install with a non traditional unit ( IE 2 stage) read more

Honest, knowledgeable, saved us a lot of money over the years between our 3 houses because he fixes rather than replaces units that start acting up or quit working. I would give this man who owns this company zero stars! Not only did he not fix the problem the first time he came out, but it took him at least 4 days with no AC in our house for him to come back out and finally fix it. He acted like he had already been paid and wasn't going to finish the job. Not only does he not have any professionalism with his words and actions but he left cigarettes all over the front of our house. I highly recommend David for AC and heat repairs. He is very honest and reliable. David came to our home last summer to fix our AC unit. He was prompt, friendly and very precise. He repaired our unit that day after troubling shooting the issue. On Sunday morning, New Years Eve, I called him as we had no hot water. Our water heater was out. Honest, fast, friendly, and affordable! When you're sick, home alone with 2 kiddos, and the AC goes out in August you kind of freak out! I called David at 8PM and he was here super fast! When my usual company couldn't make it for a day and a half and the high was 36 for the day, decided to try DZ and I was not disappointed. Dave is cool and down to earth. Explained everything to me and had my heat back on within 30 minutes. Turns out my problem was at the breaker box and he even offered the option to have my husband do the work to save me money once he diagnosed it. He found other potential problems for down the road and fixed them up so as not to cause damage. I HIGHLY recommend DZ Comfort Cooling. Both our units were down, and they came out same day (within ten minutes of calling!) and got the upstairs up and working. Downstairs had to be completely replaced, so Dave brought over a stand alone unit for us to borrow during the downtime. We were having issues (all the time actually, i hate a zone system) with our AC and Zone system that the builder installed. DZ Recommended a solution and we went with it. So far everything is better then it has been in the past. Been through quite a few AC people and most of them tell you something different and attempt to band aid the problem until you call them out again. I can not recommend them enough! David came out yesterday to try to fix a problem on a very old system, which turned out it was a much bigger problem which I had feared would be the case. I've been putting it off too long and finally decided to bite the bullet and have my system replaced. He gave me several options in different price ranges, I checked a few other companies and he definitely had the best deal. The best part was this all happened yesterday, and he was able to get the new system installed and running already by this afternoon so I'm not stuck without AC. DZ is phenomenal! I contacted Dave, regarding my air conditioner not working properly. I have an older ac unit. Dave showed up the same day. Fixed the problem with no up charges, and didn't give me the proverbial "you need a new ac unit." sales job. I know a little bit about ac units, so I really appreciated Dave's up front honesty. Really shot me straight, gave good advise and had great ideas to save me money. I chose to use him to replace my whole system. They beat everyone's prices and gave me a great Amana unit that I researched online and he was spot on. My neighbor used another company and used a Trane that had the same rating online and it cost them several dollars more. Their installers took all day and David and his crew started at 8 AM and were through at 11:30AM. I could not be happier. Not many companies work on this type of air conditioner because it is often cheaper and easier to just replace it. David and his partner were able to diagnose it and fix it for well under $100 when I was worried I was going to have to replace it with a new unit. This is the second time we have called David to come help us with our A/C issues.
